    According to the Chinese Survey for the Public Scientific Literacy, the paper gave an introduction of the survey data sources and the survey process quality control. With an emphasis on, we have two paths to work out the level of the Public Scientific Literacy, not only from a percentage but from the Index. As the influence factors of the change about Public Scientific Literacy, this paper also made a panorama of information sources, interest, and public attitudes towards S&T.

    This report concludes the result of the research of the public attitudes towards science and technology by focus group in China. The topics of the discussions include the channels of the scientific information, the attitudes towards science and technology and opinions on the public participation of the decision making of the science and technology and engineering projects. This research is not only supplements to the quantitative study of the public understanding of science, but also important for the modification of the questionnaire of the survey of the continued research.

    This article summing up all the China Public Scientific Literacy Survey on the basis of the analysis of domestic and international civic scientific literacy research trends, based on the 2007 Chinese national survey of scientific literacy data analysis, for the first time, “Citizen Scientific Literacy Index” is made. The analysis of survey data shows it is better for reflect our citizen scientific literacy level of characterization, easy to observe the changes and the reasons of citizen scientific literacy level, for related departments to provide more clear and detailed reference for decision-making.

    Based on the results of Chinese science literacy surveys hold previously, the author designs the questionnaires for the leader and civil servant to measure their science literacy. Through this survey, we got the profile and significance of science literacy of the leader and civil servant. The results will provide helpful theoretical and practical suggestions for the performance of the Outline of the Action Plan for the Nation's Science Literacy.

    The Outline of National Action Program for Scientific Literacy of All Chinese Citizens listed four key populations, among which the leading cadres and the public servants are of the top priority. The scientific literacy of the leading cadres and the public servants will not only have a direct impact on the more scientific, democratic decision-making process, scientific governance and scientific management, but also have a great demonstration effect and impact on improving the scientific quality of all citizens. The typical research on the needs of the leading cadres and the public servants was carried out to have a preliminary understanding of their popular science demand, to seek the effective S&T communication way and to ensure the scientific quality of the public servants to increase continuously. This research selected China's three typical Districts (Jinniu District of Chengdu, Wuchang District of Wuhan, Gaoxin and Canglang Districts of Suzhou) for the leading cadres and public servants' demand for popular science survey. Through analysis of the survey's result, it comes to the conclusion on the characteristics of the ways, content and demand for popular science for the leading cadres and public servants, thus to make comments for the leading cadres and public servants work of popular science.

    The minor is one of the four key crowds to monitoring the scientific literacy of the citizen in china. The trend of minors' scientific literacy decides the Country's situation of the citizen in the future. Then the first step to monitoring the minor's scientific literacy is to design the relative indicator system. So the paper should discuss how to build a sound and reasonable indictor system to realize the effect of monitoring the minor's scientific literacy.
