    Science museums and science centers have undergone great change over the past century. With few exceptions, there has been a pronounced shift during this period from collections and research towards education. The development of the function, especially the educational function of the science museum in USA, which indicates: 1. Science museum should be treated as the infrastructure construction for scientific education; 2. To strengthen the development of the educational function of the science museum; 3. The informal education in the science museum can be treated as the reference for educational reform in the school.

    With the development road of science and technology museums as a clue, the paper analyzes the inner relationship of the displays in science and technology museums and their rule of mutual influence in order to discover their development tendency and their innovation directions while giving a definition of the display and taking a look back at its history, through discussing the evolvement of the display modes and their applied characteristics, by elaborating on the changes of the display contents and their different stages of development.

    The public understanding of engineering is derived from the public understanding of science, and now it has already been proposed as an independent concept of social policy. With the example of controversy on the hydropower exploration of Nujiang, this article elaborates the inspiration on the controversy of mass media on engineering for the public understanding of engineering. It also suggests that there are limitations to the public understanding of engineering respectively in the segments of signal source, channel and destination of the communicating system of this controversy, which we must take measures to ameliorate.

    Using the same method and assessment standards that were applied in the 6th Chinese Public Scientific Literacy survey, the paper puts in light the basic data of the information channel and interested degree on science & technology of Chinese civil officials at county-level. At the same time, the resuts are compared with Chinese public and civil officials at prefecfure-level.

    This paper deals with the concept of science shop, the process of its development and its aim and significance. This article also introduces the application and extension of science shop in China. Based on case study, the article discusses about development and practice of two University Students' Volunteer Service Associations of Popular Science. Finally, the authors pay more attention to the further promotion of the University Students' Volunteer Service Association of Popular Science.
