Environmental education has been concerned as a powerful instrument for promoting nature conservation and sustainable development, and an important method to improve environmental literacy and pre-environmental behaviour of the general public. However, the mechanism of the effect of environmental education on pre-environmental behaviour remains unclear. Thus, this research conducted a six-month survey for teenagers who participated in wetland education courses. What was followed was that the paper analyzed the characteristics of teenagers' pre-environmental behavior, the impact path of environmental education on pre-environmental behaviour, and the time course of teenagers' environment knowledge, environment value, environment attitude, and pre-environmental behaviour. The results revealed that (1) pre-environmental behavior of teenagers showed significant differences in terms of age, leave of education, parents' careers, and the relevance of parents' career with environment; (2) environment education imposed positive and direct impacts on teenagers' pre-environmental behaviour, and environment value and environment attitude also had a mediating effect on teenagers' pre-environmental behaviour; and (3) pre-environmental behaviour can be formed step by step. Therefore, it is suggested that environmental education for teenagers should be arranged as early as possible and parents should also be inspired to get involved. Progressive and long-term environmental education for teenagers is expected to have better outcomes.
