An analysis is given in the paper on the ideas guiding the creation and the writing style of the book Embracing Stars: To Approach Astronomy Together with Teenagers by Bian Yulin. The main characteristics of the book are as follows: “capturing attention from a vantage-ground and developing simultaneously the theme in three aspects”, “blending science and literature and offering great interest”, “being in precise terms and in exact time and expressing profound meaning with simple words”, “verifying historical facts in a special chapter and revealing and refuting the fallacy of pseudoscience” and “devoting feelings to the universe and placing hope on posterity”. In a sense, this book can be regarded as the companion book of the famous work Pursuing Stars: A Legend on Astronomy, History, Art and Religion by the same author.
