The ASPIRES project is a research aimed at students’ science career aspirations. This paper provided a systematic analysis of the status of ASPIRES 2. In the process of cultivating students’ science career ideals, China should pay attention to the science learning experience in informal situations, solve the disadvantaged groups of science debts, promote the accumulation of students’ science capital, and pay attention to the connection between science courses and teaching.
