The paper selects 18 indicators for popular science input and 10 indicators for popular science output, and makes a comparative study of statistics of 31 provinces (autonomous regions or municipalities) during the years of 2015—2016, and of 2013—2014 by using a typical correlation analysis method. The conclusion shows that funding is the most important input factor for the development of science popularization, and personnel input is the core of the development of science popularization and plays a more and more important role, and facilities investment builds a platform for the development of science popularization. In a nutshell, some related suggestions for the development of science popularization are put forward.
