Media convergence development is the inevitable trend in the era of internet. As a traditional means for the popularization of science, sci-tech periodicals face the profoundly huge changes such as reading environment, reading habits and characteristics of printed journals in the era of new media. Science in 24 Hours is a professional sci-tech periodical which aims at building itself as a fine provider of science popularization resources, promoting socialization of science popularization, being partners for science education in school, and acting as participators for the development of popular science industry. Four key directions, such as the construction of popular science resources, the digital reading, the specialized service of science popularization and the extension of brand project, are clearly defined and mapped out, and the exploratory practice of media integration is actively carried out. From the angle of promoting the integration and development of the media of sci-tech periodicals, the paper puts forward the following suggestions: immense efforts shall be made to grasp the opportunity of reform, to promote the development of innovation, to focus on the professional characteristics as a non-profit public welfare, to improve the quality of periodicals, to improve awareness of brand, to deepen the integration of the content, and to expand the room for development.
