The Great Engineers written by Ivor B. Hart was a pocket book on the history of technology, it was published in 1928 when the history of science is not an independent discipline yet. However, when seen from today’s academic views, the book conforms to the professional norms of the history of technology, and also it contains many academic thoughts of its author, which are even quite right and make sense today. The little book was elaborately written by his author in his times, it is a very good book which should not be neglected in researching the history of technology, and the development history of history of technology itself. The book is worth carefully reading.
