The article mainly introduces the various strip break accidents that occurred in 1 780 mm cold rolling mill of Baotou Steel in recent years. The reasons for the mill strip break accidents are found from the hot-rolled materials, laser welding machine, tension leveller, trimming shear, rolling plans and other aspects, based on that, effective measures have been made in optimizing hot rolling process, laser welding machine parameters, tension leveller elongation, rolling plan lap and cold rolling equipment maintenance inspection and so on, through which the unit strip break has decreased significantly, and the operation rate has increased significantly, achieving good economic benefits.
