In this paper, it is discussed the measures taken for safe operations of new 5 sets of flue gas desulfurization and denitrification systems in the existing 6 JN60-6 coke ovens of Baotou Steel. The safety in operation of heating system for coke oven is improved through such security settings as lifting device of gate valve, interlocks of draft fan and gate valve as well as draft fan and automatically stop heating of coke oven, establishment of effective emergency linkage mechanism between desulfurization and denitrification and main control room of coke oven so that the reliable safety guarantee for stable and trouble-free operation of coke oven is provided.
