In this article, the low cost industrial production plan of pickling high strength automobile structural steel QStE420TM is introduced. The product performances are guaranteed to meet the standard requirements as well as the goal of saving alloy cost is achieved by redesigning the chemical composition, adding the ferro-titanium with lower price to replace part of the ferro-niobium with higher price in the smelting process as well as optimizing the rolling process, which provide the ideas for reducing alloy costs of other series of products.
