In this paper, it is introduced such devices as the power supply and alarm system are designed and installed on locomotive to avoid the accidents of diesel engine caused by the unfulfillment of inspection or sudden serious leakage of intercooler during the operation of diesel engine. Meanwhile, a leakage detector is installed in the intake port of intercooler of diesel engine to monitor whether the intercooler is leaking or not so that the "water hammer" accident of diesel engine could be effectively avoided.
