In this paper, it is summarized the coking coal resources used by Baotou Steel in recent years. With the changes of supply and demand for coking coal resources, the characteristics of coal blending structure for 7 m coke oven as well as the changes of it and coke quality with the changes of resources are analyzed from the regional variation and variety variation trends of coking coal resources. Moreover, the coal substitution under the premise that the coke quality meets the manufacture requirements of blast furnace is studied and some suggestions on continuing to optimize the coal blending structure are put forward.
