In this paper, the production practices on adding limonite into 265 m2 sintering machine of Baotou Steel are mainly elaborated. The results showed that the grade of sinter was decreased and average grain size was poorer, while the utilization coefficient, solid fuel consumption and metallurgical properties of sinter were all improved compared with the reference period by adding 10.44%, 17.30% and 26.28% of limonite respectively in sintering so that the tumbler strength of sinter remained at the original level.
