In the paper, the technological process and running state for the cooling system of 6# blast furnace of Baotou Steel are introduced. The causes of damage for the cooling stave are elaborated combining with its applications. The service life of blast furnace is prolonged by such measures as strengthening daily management of cooling system, adjusting cooling parameters in time, strictly controlling the cooling wall temperature and careful maintenance of cooling stave.
