In this paper, the process of replacing SIEMENS S5 115U control system of ring crane for 4# blast furnace of Iron-making Plant of Baotou Steel with SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-300 PLC is mainly introduced. Moreover, the main hardware constitution and the implementation method for the software function of the system are given; the transformation plan for control system of ring crane and the applications of core component FM351 are especially elaborated.
