Water damage of asphalt pavement is a common problem in highway engineering. In the paper, the mechanism of water damage formation and the causes of water damage of asphalt pavement are analyzed, and six concrete measures to prevent water damage of asphalt pavement are put forward in order to reduce the occurrence of asphalt pavement water damage and prolong the service life of pavement.
