This paper briefly elaborated the coating process of automobile interior decoration parts and the features of translucent artificial leather. The application feasibility of the transparent skin on the soft decorative parts was analyzed. The scheme of combination of transparent decorative panel and interior ambient lighting system is studied. The feasibility of the application scheme of transparent skin was verified by experiments. The results show that the application of translucent artificial leather on the instrument panel decoration can make the decorative panel have the function of surface light transmission, which can realize the combination of soft touch and lighting pattern, improve the intelligence and sense of science and technology for the cockpit system, break the limitations of the existing ambient lighting layout and can meet the diversified and personalized needs of consumers.
