This paper elaborates the importance of Data Virtual Review (DVR) in the research and development of automotive design, as well as the drawbacks of the widely applied shadow pre-baked rendering technology. The advantages of real-time rendering game engine UE5 utilized for automotive design DVR are elaborated, including better visualization effects, higher customization and rich multi-platform support. This paper also presents successful cases of applying Unreal Engine (UE) in automotive design DVR by Pagani, BMW Group and The Mill automotive advertiser, concluding the feasibility of using UE5 for automotive design DVR. Finally, based on years of experience in automotive virtual review, the factors that need to be considered are analyzed when developing a VR system for automotive styling review. UE5 blueprint system is applied to build User Interface (UI) and related functions assisted for automotive styling review, and pixel streaming technology is also utilized in UE to build an online review login interface, enabling reviewers to view automotive design data through mobile phones or computer websites at any time, thereby improving data review efficiency.
