After intensive social rhetoric, the OMP osteb blasts milk protein becomes from a scientific concept to a symbol of high quality milk product with many added social meanings. Social rhetoric is a basic way of communication within human society. However, under certain conditions, it could be abused. Public participation is expected to penetrate the'fog of rhetoric', and in the long run, promotes a harmonious, cooperative, and responsible social culture.
Based on the definition of citizen, literacy and scientific literacy, as well as the common commands of citizens of scientific literacy claimed in the Outline of National Action Program for Scientific Literacy of All Chinese Citizens, this paper discusses the creation of sub-aims of improving the public scientific literacy in four aspects. The paper also supports a content system in terms of science communication, and appeals to set up an assessment indicator system which can be used to measure the scientific literacy changes after the public are informed of the content.
Beijing Planetarium is the first large-scale venue for popular science activities in new China, which was founded on September 29, 1957. On the eve of its 50 anniversary, with the interview of Mr. Li Yuan, who was in charge of the construction of the Planetarium, this article elaborates the detailed history of its construction.
Based on review of current situation of public scientific literacy in China and international comparative studies, the paper puts forward the concept of "living science" and analyses the main characteristics of it: tightly connected with basic living demand; puts instrumental and practical result in the priority; gives importance to sensibility and perception; integrated with social knowledge; has inherent connection with cultural tradition deposition. If we can say that science is the refinement of everyday experience and thinking, then it's an essential way for public understanding of science to approach scholarly "academic science" from "living science" which emphasizes particularly on common sense. Moreover, it gives us an important imply: We need the "academic science" (R. K. Merton, UCDOS) together with "post-academic science" (J. Ziman, PLACE) as well as "living science" (BISSC) to conduct the public understanding and using of science roundly.
The development and share of science popularization resources is one of the key of science popularization in our country. Therefore how to characterize science popularization resources is a question that needs to be resolved as soon as possible. From the perspective of science of resources and the connotation of science popularization, this paper aims to give a comprehensive and scientific definition of science popularization resources and provide references for science popularization research and practices.
The paper analyzes the status and forming causes of the marginal groups in science popularization such as the floating population, women, the handicapped, countrymen and the poor, and indicates that low science literacy and poor condition of acquired knowledge of the marginal groups in science popularization exposes a serious justice problem in science popularization, and that the government and society lack or have difficulty in realizing the impartiality in science popularization in three aspects, that is the policy in science popularization and the focus of country's attention, the distribution of the resources in science popularization, and the specific practice and actual effects in science popularization. Finally, the text puts forward four pieces of advice to achieve impartiality in science popularization.
In the course of constructing the scientific literacy of citizens, the complexity and fundamentality of the Interest can hardly work without the law guarantee system. The development of the socialist market economy, the implementation of the strategy of Sustainable Development and "Developing the Country Through Science and Education" and the basic strategy of "Governing the Country by Law" have advanced the establishment and perfection of the socialist market economic law system. This system includes the legal system about constructing the scientific literacy of citizens and it has been initially established. Consequently, the law guarantee system of constructing the scientific literacy of citizens has begun to take shape.
Along with the socio-economic development, ecological problems have become increasingly highlighted. To solve this problem, to popularize the ecological values is particularly necessary. Currently, the work of popularizing of science in our country also needs to take a new road to incorporate the difficulty theory of ecological values into the popularization of science, which will be an innovation both in the advocating of ecological values and in the work of popularizing science.
