    The popular science gallery is an effective way of rural science popularization. There's a popular science gallery in every village of Shandong province. This study investigated into Shandong Yantai rural popular science gallery and analyzed the results. It shows that the rural popular science gallery has real communication effects, but there are also some defects. We need to improve the working mechanism and make better development.

    Science and Technology Museum (STM, including natural science museum) is an important part of the public cultural service system in China, an important carrier for the popularization of science and technology (PST), and an important platform for PST service for the public. Through questionnaire survey, we can obtain and work on the firsthand data depicting the current situation of STMs and make recommendations to policy makers in relation to the development of the museums.

    Studies based on surveys show that the scientists' portraits as one kind of visual images plays an important role in affecting students' understanding of scientists and science in their minds. This article introduces the usual theory and methodology of research of scientists' portraits, and verifies the essential role of scientists' portraits in the cognitive process of pupils in China through positive studies by means of questionnaire survey and interviews. This article also makes a preliminary comparison of the analysis of the local investigation results with the abroad research of scientists' portraits. The authors suggest a new field in science communication study with a new perspective and provide a new approach for practice.

    This paper systematically analyzes the developing history of the Talent Team for Science Popularization (TTSP), the main achievements the Team has made and the great role it has played in spreading scientific spirits, defending the dignity of science and disseminating the scientific and technological knowledge since the foundation of P.R. of China. The author divides the history of the TTSP development into three phases which fit into the periodic features of the social, political and economic developments of the country, and brings to light the traces and figures of the TTSP development by analyzing its structure, features, developing process and periodic characteristics. All the findings and conclusions could be valuable and helpful for the construction and further development of TTSP in the future.

    In today's world, information literacy as an important component of scientific literacy has gradually become one basic literacy necessary for people. In our country, the overall level of information literacy of citizens is not high, especially that of the elderly residents, so they are in a disadvantageous position in obtaining and processing information, as well as in solving problems in terms of health and life by making use of information. Shangjing community of Longgang District in the city of Shenzhen started running “Computer Classes for Oldsters” in 2005, which was welcomed by elderly residents of the community. After several years of management, they accumulated lots of experience that is profitable for the engagement in cultivating and enhancing information literacy of the public and particularly the elderly residents.
