The article reviews the evolution of science workshops of children and youth, discusses their different types and purposes. Meanwhile, based on investigations of nearly one hundred science workshops of children and youth, it describes the situation and function of these workshops in nowadays comprehensively and honestly, and tries to point out their future tendency as well.
