The earthquake disaster, usually classified as the “the most calamitous disaster”, is always happening in a sudden, strong and destructive manner, and is prone to causing the secondary disaster, thus it is highly concerned by the users. Based on the Baidu massive user behavior data, the paper conducts an analysis of the search behavior tendency and trait of the specific keywords “earthquake” by utilizing Baidu index. By doing so, the needs of the users and the the tendency of public opinions on the media are explored for the purpose of coming up with the optimal strategy concerning how to handle science popularization work having to do with earthquake prevention and disaster reduction.
