In the May Fourth Era, Science and other sci-tech journals played an important role in driving science to develop in China. As a significant form of science communication, the advertisements in Science journal were also a main element, which disseminated substantial knowledge and concepts in relation to science and technology. In that case, it's of great value to research the functions, especially the construction function of advertisements in Science journal. Based on a quantitative and qualitative analysis, in this passage, we'll mainly discuss its important function in communicating science knowledge as well as science concepts, so that we can gather useful experience for the development of advertisements in sci-tech periodicals nowadays.
