As a new pattern of science communication, Café Scientifique is getting more and more popular in Europe and America. It provides a leisure space for scientists and lay public to discuss science and technology issues in an informal and friendly atmosphere. Café Scientifique is a sort of grass-root activity for public welfare, with self-organization, low cost, mutual equality and flexible form. Non-scientists are empowered to engage in science and envaluating science researches, which represents a trend of democratizing science. Although it still faces several problems, such as audience, location and cost, we believe that there is a bright future for Café Scientifique and it will inspire science communicators in China a lot.
