After the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19), China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) performs its duty of science popularization, and carries out widely emergency science popularization for the public. This paper combs the emergency science communication system of CAST, and finds out that authoritative platform can be the main front for emergency science popularization with refuting rumors as the important contents, and authoritative experts have been playing a core role in emergency science popularization. Experiences of 3D science communication mode and organizational advantages of CAST have been summed up and relevant strategies are put forward to further improve the normalization and standardization of emergency science popularization mechanism in CAST.
