A case study is carried out to illustrate that there is a wide social rhetoric space around a scientific concept. After intensive social rhetoric, the OMP osteb blasts milk protein becomes from a scientific concept to a symbol of high quality milk product with many added social meanings. Social rhetoric is a basic way of communication within human society. However, under certain conditions, it could be abused. Public participation is expected to penetrate the'fog of rhetoric', and in the long run, promotes a harmonious, cooperative, and responsible social culture.
