This paper introduces the whole making process of the translation book with the title The Elements: A Visual Exploration of Every Known Atom in the Universe, which won the second session of the “Excellence Award of China Science Writers' Association”. This paper tells us what is new and original in this book, analyses the reason why this book is so popular, and shows not only the marketing and promotion work of it, but also the interactive activities with the readers. In the perspective of a science communicator, the Acquisition Editor who is in charge of this book, this paper considers and summarizes the revelation during the making process of this excellent popular science book.
