As an important approach in promoting science education reform, China's science and technology characteristic high schools play a crucial role in improving the scientific literacy of teenagers and cultivating scientific and technological innovation talents. This research organizes the development of domestic science and technology characteristic high schools. It discusses its construction status from four perspectives: policy support, construction scale, social participation and talent training effect. This research holds that in the current situation, there are problems such as utilitarianism, rigid teaching, and weak teachers. In addition to the typical practice in China's construction practice, it is proposed that the construction of China's science and technology characteristic high schools should stick to the correct educational direction and pay attention to the general orientation of basic education. Promoting the integration of science and technology education concepts and teaching practices, optimizing the establishment of teacher standards and the design of training content.
