This study analyzes the science popularization policy issued since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It summarizes the historical development and characteristics of the science popularization policy system according to the policy objectives and content. The study found that China's science popularization policies issued in different historical periods have specific objectives, focusing on other ranges and fields and promoting the vigorous development of the national science popularization cause. Under the influence of science popularization policies, science popularization also reflects the historical evolution characteristics, transfer from the science popularization work on scientific knowledge to the comprehensive work aiming at scientific literacy improvement.
