Autoimmune diseases constitute a complex and diverse challenge in modern medicine,it is manifested that the body′s immune system mistakenly recognizes its own healthy cells and tissues as threats and launches attacks, resulting in persistent inflammatory responses and tissue injury. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are critical mediators in maintaining immune tolerance and immune homeostasis, and exert vital functions in autoimmune diseases. This paper reviews the basic research and clinical advances in Tregs therapy and discusses its potential application value. It elaborates on the biological characteristics of Tregs and their regulatory mechanism in autoimmune diseases, providing a theoretical basis for the development of immunotherapy.
