18β-Glycyrrhetinic Acid, a naturally occurring active compound extracted from licorice, has recently garnered significant attention in the field of dermatological research. The pathophysiology of skin diseases is often highly complex, involving pathological processes such as inflammatory responses, oxidative stress, and cellular damage, which can severely impact patients' quality of life. Despite the availability of various treatment options, some medications are hampered by significant side effects or insufficient efficacy, highlighting the need for the development of safe and effective natural natural drugs. 18β-Glycyrrhetinic Acid stands out due to its remarkable pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, wound-healing, and antitumor effects. Its ability to alleviate or improve symptoms of skin diseases through multiple mechanisms has led to widespread recognition of its biological activity and therapeutic potential. This review aims to summarize the research advancements on 18β-Glycyrrhetinic Acid in skin diseases, analyze its mechanisms of action, and discuss its clinical clinical prospects, thereby providing a scientific basis for future investigations and applications.
