As the development of natural uranium resources shifts towards deep and complex sandstone-type deposits, in-situ leaching (ISL) technology faces new challenges, including increased reservoir heterogeneity, difficulties in precise process control, and an urgent need for intelligent mining operations.
To showcase the latest research and promote the refinement, intelligence, and green development of ISL technology, the journal Uranium Mining and Metallurgyis launching a special column series titled “Frontier Technologies in In-Situ Leaching of Uranium.” Led by Academician Su Xuebin, this series focuses on three main technological tracks to build a collaborative academic exchange platform for research institutes, universities, and enterprises worldwide.
Topics of Interest
Column 1: Key Technologies for ISL in Deep and Complex Sandstone Uranium Deposits
[1] Integrated geology-seepage-geochemistry modeling and fine characterization of deep/heterogeneous reservoirs.
[2] Well-network optimization and layered collaborative mining for multi-layer deposits.
[3] Multi-field coupling mechanisms and high-performance numerical simulations.
[4] Green enhanced leaching for low-permeability, low-grade, and high-salinity resources.
[5] Identification, plugging, and routing control of preferential flow paths.
[6] Deep drilling, well completion, and advanced well-washing equipment/technologies.
Column 2: Efficient Leaching and Recovery Technologies in ISL
[1] Leaching dynamics and multi-field coupling mechanisms during the leaching process.
[2] Lixiviant/oxidant formulation optimization, development of novel agents, and process control.
[3] Synergistic improvement of leaching efficiency and recovery rates.
