Call for Papers: Special Issue on Aerospace Deployable Structural Materials and Application Technologies in Journal of Materials Engineering
Deadline
2026-04-30

Against the backdrop of the continuous pursuit of high performance, low cost and high reliability in the aerospace field, deployable structures based on material properties have become a cutting-edge development direction. Abandoning the traditional complex mechanical drive and transmission systems, such structures deeply leverage the intrinsic physical properties of materials (e.g., elastic strain energy, shape memory effect) as the core driving force to achieve specific configurations, representing a fundamental revolution in design philosophy.

Materials serve as the “backbone and soul” of such structures, directly determining their deployment reliability, environmental adaptability, and long-term service stability. Therefore, focusing on the research of critical issues along the entire chain of “Material-Process-Structure-Performance-Application” is the core to breaking through technical bottlenecks at the source and promoting engineering applications, which bears important academic value and engineering significance.

This journal plans to publish a Special Issue on Aerospace Deployable Structural Materials and Application Technologies in the second half of 2026. We are honored to invite Researcher Zhang Congfa from the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), Professor Liu Liwu from Harbin Institute of Technology, and Associate Professor Yang Hui from Yanshan University to serve as the Guest Editors of this Special Issue. We warmly welcome experts and scholars in relevant fields to submit high-quality papers, which will be published as regular journal articles. The editorial office will rapidly process all submitted manuscripts and present your articles to readers at home and abroad with the utmost speed and visibility upon acceptance.
