The 6th China (Beijing) Radio and Television Media Convergence Development Conference Held

From May 12 to 13, the 6th China (Beijing) Radio and Television Media Convergence Development Conference was held in Beijing. With the theme of Deep Integration for Long-term Development, Boundless Audio-Visual Experience, the conference was co-hosted by the China Federation of Radio and Television Associations, the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, and the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau. Han Dong, Deputy Director of the National Radio and Television Administration; Sima Hong, Vice Mayor of Beijing; and Fan Weiping, President of the China Federation of Radio and Television Associations, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

In his speech, Han Dong stated that the National Radio and Television Administration has designated 2026 as the Year of In-depth Advancement of Systematic Transformation of Radio and Television Media, and has deployed and implemented the Leading Project for Systematic Transformation of Mainstream Radio and Television Media, focusing on advancing key tasks such as content renewal, the “Radio and Television +” initiative, quality upgrading of key client terminals, and digital-intelligent transformation of radio and television media. He proposed that efforts should be made to accelerate the transformation of concepts, resolutely push radio and television media to march into the main battlefield of the Internet, and push radio and television audio-visual services to march into the main battlefield of economic and social development; continue to intensify content renewal, upgrade digital-intelligent transformation, deepen integration and aggregation, and continuously expand integrated communication.

In her speech, Sima Hong introduced that in 2025, Beijing launched a total of 465 high-quality works under the “Beijing Great Audio-Visual” initiative, 252 of which received national excellence recommendations; the country’s first audio-visual convergence industry development map was officially released; more than 2,200 audio-visual technology enterprises gathered in Beijing, with an industrial scale exceeding 600 billion yuan, accounting for more than one-third of the country’s total. She stated that Beijing will adhere to political leadership, technology empowerment, high-quality orientation, and optimized services to promote media convergence to a higher level.

Fan Weiping said in his speech that greater efforts and more practical measures must be taken to accelerate the in-depth integration of media, continuously improve the communication, guidance, influence and credibility of mainstream media, and effectively shoulder the cultural mission of the new era.

At the main forum, representatives from all walks of life, including Yu Guoming, professor at Beijing Normal University; Jiang Wenbo, member of the Editorial Board of China Media Group; Zhang Qiang, Secretary of the Huairou District Party Committee of Beijing; Wang Jiequn, Director of the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau; Wang Wei, Chief Operating Officer of Weibo; and Li Qingtong, senior expert at Volcengine, delivered in-depth sharing on core topics such as the strategic path of systematic transformation of mainstream media and in-depth empowerment through scientific and technological innovation.

At the opening ceremony, the 2026 “Jing Langya” Special Talent Selection was launched simultaneously, and the lighting ceremony of the country’s first urban location shooting map was officially held. Han Xiaopeng, Deputy Director of the Radio, Film and Television Information Network Center of the National Radio and Television Administration, released the Observation on CVB Data of Integrated Communication of Provincial Radio and Television Media; Han Xinxing, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, released three funding support policies, covering the development of the “Artificial Intelligence + Audio-Visual”industry, the Radio and Television Network Audio-Visual Fund, and the application for funds for the development of international communication capabilities.

More than 600 representatives from radio and television departments, online audio-visual institutions, technology enterprises, university think tanks and other sectors across the country attended the opening ceremony. The conference held a total of 10 main events and a series of supporting activities.
