It exerts the effects of inducing diuresis to eliminate dampness, invigorating the spleen and tranquilizing the mind, and is mainly indicated for the treatment of symptoms and diseases including edema with oliguria, phlegm retention accompanied by vertigo and palpitations, poor appetite caused by spleen deficiency, loose stools and diarrhea, mental restlessness, and palpitations with insomnia. Studies have shown that the active components of P. cocos mainly include polysaccharides, triterpenes, sterols, and so on. It exhibits various pharmacological activities, such as diuretic, immunomodulatory, antitumor, lipid-regulating, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and other effects. 茯苓Poria cocos是我国传统的中药,性味甘、淡、平,归心、肺、脾、肾经,具有利水渗湿、健脾宁心的功效,主要用于治疗水肿尿少、痰饮眩悸、脾虚食少、便溏泄泻、心神不安、惊悸失眠等病证。研究表明,茯苓的活性成分主要包括多糖类、三萜类、甾醇类等,具有利尿、免疫调节、抗肿瘤、调血脂、抗炎与抗氧化及其他药理活性。通过系统检索国内外相关文献,对茯苓的化学成分与药理作用进行全面综述,并深入探讨其潜在作用机制,为茯苓的现代化研究及临床开发提供新思路与科学依据。

Fuling (Poria cocos) is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb with a sweet, bland taste and neutral nature, which is attributed to the heart, lung, spleen, and kidney meridians. It exerts the effects of inducing diuresis to eliminate dampness, invigorating the spleen and tranquilizing the mind, and is mainly indicated for the treatment of symptoms and diseases including edema with oliguria, phlegm retention accompanied by vertigo and palpitations, poor appetite caused by spleen deficiency, loose stools and diarrhea, mental restlessness, and palpitations with insomnia. Studies have shown that the active components of P. cocos mainly include polysaccharides, triterpenes, sterols, and so on. It exhibits various pharmacological activities, such as diuretic, immunomodulatory, antitumor, lipid-regulating, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and other effects. By systematically searching relevant literature at home and abroad, this study comprehensively reviews the chemical components and pharmacological effects of P. cocos, and further explores its potential mechanisms of action, aiming to provide new ideas and scientific basis for the modern research and clinical development of P. cocos.
