In the era of digital economy,digital transformation has become an inevitable trajectory of enterprise development. From a supply chain perspective,the costumer digital transformation can exert substantial influences on supplier through supply chain channels. However,does the digital transformation of costumer affect the digital technological innovation of supplier? To address this question,this paper established an econometric model by matching the data among listed company on China' Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share market from 2011 to 2022. It empirically examined the spillover effects of costumer' digital transformation on supplier' digital technological innovation and its underlying mechanisms. The results indicated: (1) The digital transformation of costumer exerts a positive spillover effect on the digital technological innovation of supplier,a series of robustness tests and endogeneity discussions confirm the reliability of this conclusion;(2) The impact of customer companies' digital transformation on supplier companies' digital technological innovation is stronger when: the supplier and customer companies operate in the same industry,or the supplier companies' industry exhibits a high level of digital transformation;(3) the customer companies' digital transformation promotes supplier companies' digital technology innovation through two channels: information spillovers and supply-demand alignment. The intensity of cooperation and industry competition strength positively moderate these relationships. This study revealed the underlying mechanism of customer companies' digital transformation influencing supplier companies' digital technology innovation from a supply chain perspective,enriching the economic consequences of corporate digital transformation and providing theoretical support and decision-making references for advancing corporate digital technology innovation practices;(2) this effect is more pronounced when supplier and customer operate within the same industry or when supplier is located in highly digitized sectors;and (3) the customer digital transformation enhances supplier innovation through information spillovers and improved supply-demand alignment,with cooperative intensity and industry competition positively moderating these mechanisms. Overall,this study has elucidated the mechanisms through which customer digital transformation influences supplier digital technological innovation from a supply chain perspective. It has extended the literature on the economic consequences of enterprise digital transformation and will provide theoretical insights and policy implications for fostering digital technological innovation.

在数字经济时代下,数字化转型是企业发展的必然趋势。基于供应链视角,客户企业数字化转型能够通过供应链渠道对供应商企业产生深远影响。那么客户企业数字化转型如何影响供应商企业数字技术创新呢?为解答该问题,本文通过匹配2011—2022年沪深A股上市公司数据,建立计量经济学模型,实证检验了客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的溢出效应及其作用机制。结果表明:(1)客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新具有正向溢出效应,经过一系列稳健性检验和内生性讨论表明该结论是可靠的;(2)供应商企业与客户企业为同一行业、供应商企业所处行业为高数字化转型水平行业,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的影响更大;(3)客户企业数字化转型通过信息溢出和供需适配两条渠道促进了供应商企业数字技术创新,合作紧密度和行业竞争强度正向调节了上述关系。本文从供应链视角揭示了客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新影响的内在机制,丰富了企业数字化转型的经济后果,为推进企业数字技术创新实践提供了理论支持和决策参考。

在数字经济时代下,数字化转型是企业发展的必然趋势。基于供应链视角,客户企业数字化转型能够通过供应链渠道对供应商企业产生深远影响。那么客户企业数字化转型如何影响供应商企业数字技术创新呢?为解答该问题,本文通过匹配2011—2022年沪深A股上市公司数据,建立计量经济学模型,实证检验了客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的溢出效应及其作用机制。结果表明:(1)客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新具有正向溢出效应,经过一系列稳健性检验和内生性讨论表明该结论是可靠的;(2)供应商企业与客户企业为同一行业、供应商企业所处行业为高数字化转型水平行业,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的影响更大;(3)客户企业数字化转型通过信息溢出和供需适配两条渠道促进了供应商企业数字技术创新,合作紧密度和行业竞争强度正向调节了上述关系。本文从供应链视角揭示了客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新影响的内在机制,丰富了企业数字化转型的经济后果,为推进企业数字技术创新实践提供了理论支持和决策参考。

In the era of digital economy,digital transformation has become an inevitable trajectory of enterprise development. From a supply chain perspective,the costumer digital transformation can exert substantial influences on supplier through supply chain channels. However,does the digital transformation of costumer affect the digital technological innovation of supplier? To address this question,this paper established an econometric model by matching the data among listed company on China' Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share market from 2011 to 2022. It empirically examined the spillover effects of costumer' digital transformation on supplier' digital technological innovation and its underlying mechanisms. The results indicated: (1) The digital transformation of costumer exerts a positive spillover effect on the digital technological innovation of supplier,a series of robustness tests and endogeneity discussions confirm the reliability of this conclusion;(2) The impact of customer companies' digital transformation on supplier companies' digital technological innovation is stronger when: the supplier and customer companies operate in the same industry,or the supplier companies' industry exhibits a high level of digital transformation;(3) the customer companies' digital transformation promotes supplier companies' digital technology innovation through two channels: information spillovers and supply-demand alignment. The intensity of cooperation and industry competition strength positively moderate these relationships. This study revealed the underlying mechanism of customer companies' digital transformation influencing supplier companies' digital technology innovation from a supply chain perspective,enriching the economic consequences of corporate digital transformation and providing theoretical support and decision-making references for advancing corporate digital technology innovation practices;(2) this effect is more pronounced when supplier and customer operate within the same industry or when supplier is located in highly digitized sectors;and (3) the customer digital transformation enhances supplier innovation through information spillovers and improved supply-demand alignment,with cooperative intensity and industry competition positively moderating these mechanisms. Overall,this study has elucidated the mechanisms through which customer digital transformation influences supplier digital technological innovation from a supply chain perspective. It has extended the literature on the economic consequences of enterprise digital transformation and will provide theoretical insights and policy implications for fostering digital technological innovation.

随着云计算、区块链、大数据、人工智能等数字技术的快速迭代,以及在经济社会各领域的深度应用,推进数字化转型成为企业发展的必然趋势。为此,关于数字化转型的经济后果也引起学界的高度关切。数字化转型不仅对企业自身发展具有重要影响[1],而且正逐渐成为重塑供应商企业与客户企业之间联接关系的关键力量,并推动知识和创新沿着供应链加快溢出。
在数字经济时代下,数字技术与商业实践相结合而产生新的价值与机会,推动形成了数字技术创新浪潮。数字技术创新除了包括自身的技术迭代外,还包括其深度应用引发的商业模式创新、管理流程创新及产品服务创新等[2-3]。从供应链的视角看,客户企业数字化转型不仅促进了自身的革新与发展,而且能够推动创新资源加快沿供应链溢出,从而推动供应商企业数字技术创新。具体而言,一方面,通过数字化转型,客户企业能够优化其供应链的信息传递与共享生态。使得客户企业与供应商企业间的信息流通更加高效、顺畅。供应商企业通过实时获取和处理供应链上的各类创新信息,能够大幅降低获取数字技术创新相关信息的搜集成本,提高了创新决策的科学性与响应速度。另一方面,伴随客户企业数字化转型的深入推进,其对供应商企业在产品形态和服务内容上的需求日益呈现出差异化与定制化趋势。根据制度压力理论,为了保持竞争优势,客户企业会倒逼供应商企业不断开发新产品、新服务,从而推动供应商企业不断开展数字技术创新。
企业数字化转型的持续推进,也吸引学者围绕其经济后果进行了广泛探讨。部分研究指出企业数字化转型通过扩大规模经济与范围经济、提高创新能力、优化管理效率与人力资本结构等途径促进了其全要素生产率水平的提高[4-5]。同时,企业数字化转型还通过改善企业内部信息披露环境、促进企业绿色技术创新以及提高企业决策和运营管理效率等渠道对企业ESG表现产生积极影响[6]。此外,企业数字化转型还能够增强其股票的流动性[7]。除此之外,部分研究还关注企业数字化转型对出口产品质量[8]、绿色创新[9]、实业投资水平[10]等的影响。然而,这些研究仍主要集中于企业自身层面。企业数字化转型变革了供应链信息的传递方式,大幅提升了供应链信息的传递速度和共享水平。为此,关于企业数字化转型的供应链溢出效应也引起学者的关注。Isaksson等[11]指出客户企业创新促进了供应商企业创新。李青原等[12]研究发现,链主企业数字化转型显著提升了上下游企业全要素生产率[13]。在新一轮科技革命和产业变革背景下,数字技术为数字经济的蓬勃发展提供了基础支撑,是当前最活跃的技术创新细分领域。为此,也吸引学者从传统金融可得性[14]、政府数字关注度[15]、营商环境[16]等方面展开富有创见的探讨。尽管企业数字化转型的经济后果与数字技术创新已引起了学者的广泛关注,但关于客户企业数字化转型沿供应链的数字技术创新溢出效应仍缺乏深入探讨。鉴于此,本文基于供应链视角,深入揭示客户企业数字化转型沿供应链的数字技术创新溢出机制。本文研究不仅是对企业数字化转型经济后果的丰富,而且能够为推动“供应商-客户”互动关系的进一步强化提供新的证据,并为促进数字技术创新相关政策的制定提供有益决策参考,因而具有重要的现实意义。
供应链是各企业之间以价值链分布为基础的链条式关联关系和时空分布形态[17],涵盖了供应商、制造商、分销商等所有链条中的企业,为了优化成本结构,减轻运营风险并确保供应链稳定,供应链上各环节的企业会积极参与协作,从而形成供应链上的互动。客户企业数字化转型变革了供应链上信息的传输方式,推动供应链上信息传递从传统“线性链式”转向“网络化实时共享”,大幅提升了供应链上信息的传递和交互速度,以及信息的共享性,使得供应商企业能够实时获取客户企业开展技术创新的细节信息及需求的最新变化,进而促进其数字技术创新。
从信息溢出渠道看,客户企业借由数字化转型获取的知识和信息沿着供应链扩散到供应商企业,供应商企业通过吸收客户企业的高效创新经验,提升了自身数字技术创新能力。具体而言,一方面,数字化转型能大幅拓展客户企业知识与信息的获取渠道,从而提高了创新信息的搜寻效率[18]。此外,数字化转型助力客户企业建立网络化的供应链与多源信息节点,进而打通了交易数据与需求信息高速传输的通道[19]。此时,依托供应链网络联结,供应商企业可实时获取来自客户企业的交互数据,这不仅使得其创新知识获取的成本得以大幅降低,而且创新效率也随之获得提升;另一方面,客户企业数字化转型不仅直接增强了自身创新能力,更是通过供应链的创新溢出效应,间接提升了供应商企业的创新绩效。通过数字化转型客户企业既显著节约了通信成本,又突破了信息交互的边界,进而提升了创新网络的互联能力[20],这不仅使其能够更有效地整合外部创新资源,而且也推动了创新成果沿供应链加速溢出。此外,客户企业通过持续的数字化转型与创新实践,并在与供应商企业的互动中逐渐形成可被供应商企业识别与借鉴的创新路径。供应商企业借助客户企业数字化转型搭建的高效连通渠道,还能够获得更多的创新学习机会,从而促进了自身数字技术创新。
从供需适配渠道看,在外部环境发生变化时,供应商企业为了维持与客户企业的供需关系,会主动做出适应性战略决策[21]。客户企业数字化转型带来了需求方式和需求结构的持续变化,倒逼供应商企业通过加快数字技术创新步伐,以适配客户企业需求的新变化。一方面,客户企业通过数字化转型能够与其他企业实现信息的即时交互与动态协作,使得可供选择的合作对象增多。供应商企业为了维持与客户企业的供需关系,需要紧密配合客户企业数字化流程及产品创新变化,并从拓宽供需对接范围、提升匹配效率,到提供多元化或个性化产品方案,全方位响应客户企业的需求。因此,供应商企业应采取更灵活的适应性策略。利用数字技术创新能够实时观测市场需求趋势,并精确预判市场动向,进而在整合客户订单详情与前瞻性预测数据分析的基础上,优化调整供需策略[4],以适应客户企业需求的新变化;另一方面,供应商企业在顺应客户企业数字化转型进程的同时,还需要密切关注其未来发展路径上潜在隐性需求的动态变化,并积极投入到数字技术创新活动中。通过数字技术创新能够模拟客户企业未来业务场景,前瞻性地推断其可能尚未明晰的隐性需求,精准适配客户企业潜在需求,从而提升供需匹配效率。
基于此,本文提出以下研究假设:
H1:客户企业数字化转型能够促进供应商企业数字技术创新。
H2:客户企业数字化转型通过信息溢出和供需适配两条渠道促进供应商企业数字技术创新。
数字技术创新需要企业管理者识别创新机会并做好准备,但管理者的决策通常会受外部环境的影响。同时,数字技术创新活动的开展也需要把数字技术与特定应用情境相结合[22]。由此可见,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的影响,可能会因双方的合作紧密程度及所处竞争环境的差异而不同。
供应商企业往往会随着双方协作关系的深化而更加关注客户企业的数字化转型进程。这种关注将促使供应商企业更主动地开展自身数字技术创新,以期更有效地响应客户企业在数字化转型过程中涌现的新需求。由此可见,双方合作紧密度的提升,增强了客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的推动作用。具体而言:一方面,与客户企业的合作紧密度越高,意味着供应商企业与客户企业在产业链上的相互嵌入程度越深,双方的沟通交流自然也越深。通过双方更深入的沟通交流,供应商企业能够获取客户企业大量真实有效的数据信息。同时,还可以更深入地了解客户企业数字化转型进程和开展数字技术创新的细节,从而能更精准地把握自身数字技术创新的方向;另一方面,与客户企业的合作紧密度越高,越能推动双方在数字技术研发上开展协同创新,通过技术研发人员的合作与成果分享,有助于供应商企业突破数字技术创新的“卡点”,加快其数字技术创新进程[23]。还有,与客户企业的合作紧密度越高,意味着供应商企业与客户企业合作关系的可替代性越低,当交易成本上升或合作关系破裂时,将导致更高的沉没成本和转换成本。因此,供应商企业为了稳定与客户企业的合作关系,会更主动地适配客户企业数字化转型行动。由此可见,供应商企业与客户企业的合作紧密度越高,客户企业数字化转型越能促进供应商企业数字技术创新。因此提出以下研究假设:
H3:与客户企业的合作紧密度正向调节了客户企业数字化转型与供应商企业数字技术创新之间的关系。
激烈的行业内竞争提升了供应商企业在战略规划与决策层面上所面临的复杂性与挑战性,增强了供应商企业对客户企业的依赖性[24]。为了更好适配客户企业数字化转型带来的需求新变化,会激励供应商企业更主动地开展数字技术创新,以应对外部行业竞争压力。由此可见,供应商企业所处行业竞争程度的提升,也增强了客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的推动作用。具体而言,一方面,供应商企业所处行业的竞争越激烈,表明其对客户企业的议价空间越小,客户企业在市场上的主动权会越大。为了避免客户流失造成的生存压力,供应商企业会更主动地迎合客户企业需求的新变化,这将导致客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业的影响会更持久和深入。在此情景下,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的影响也将更明显;另一方面,所处行业的竞争越激烈,表明供应商企业所面临的外部风险越大,通过稳定或增强与客户企业的关联关系是降低外部风险的重要手段。由于企业数字化转型能够提升上下游产业链的关联水平[25],从而增强了供应商企业与客户企业的关联关系。因此,面对激烈的行业竞争,供应商企业会进一步加大数字技术创新投入,加速推进数字化转型进程,以适配客户企业数字化转型对其提出更高的产品要求和服务标准[26]。由此可见,供应商企业所处行业的竞争越激烈,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的影响也会越大。因此提出以下研究假设:
H4:供应商企业所处行业竞争程度正向调节了客户企业数字化转型与供应商企业数字技术创新之间的关系。
本文的理论框架模型如图1所示。
为了检验客户企业数字化转型的数字技术创新溢出效应,本文建立基准回归模型:

其中,Dig_PatentDig_Chain分别表示供应商企业数字技术创新水平与客户企业数字化转型水平,Controls为控制变量集,包含了从行业、地区和企业层面上选取的控制变量,IndustryYear分别表示行业和年份固定效应,ε为随机扰动项。
(1)被解释变量:供应商企业数字技术创新(Dig_Patent)。本文关于数字技术创新的度量,主要参考陶锋等[24]的做法,根据国家统计局颁布的《数字经济及其核心产业统计分类(2021)》和《国际专利分类与国民经济行业分类参照关系表(2018)》,构建“数字经济核心产业分类代码-国民经济行业分类四位数代码(SIC4)-IPC(International Patent Classification)小组(Subgroup)”的映射体系,以识别数字技术创新所属的技术领域及其对应代码,并在此基础上识别出在IPC小组层面上企业申请的数字技术发明专利数。进一步从“企业-年份”两个维度对识别的数字技术领域的发明专利数进行加总,然后,对汇总后的专利数加1,取自然对数,作为衡量供应商企业数字技术创新的代理变量。
(2)核心解释变量:客户企业数字化转型水平(Dig_Chain)。企业数字化转型是一个涉及多个层面的系统性变革过程,如何准确测算仍面临较大挑战。现有研究大致采用两种方法测算企业数字化转型水平。其中,一种方法从信息资产、信息化员工、信息系统应用、互联网等信息技术的应用测算企业数字化转型水平。企业数字化转型是利用数据、算法和前沿数字技术(如人工智能、大数据、云计算等)重构企业业务流程、优化资源配置,并重塑企业与市场、客户及供应链连接方式,从而达到提质增效、增强竞争力的目的[1,27]。为此,以信息技术应用测算企业数字化转型水平,显然不能很好地反映企业数字化转型的全貌。随着文本大数据在经济学和金融学领域的广泛应用,部分研究文献开始运用文本分析方法测算企业数字化转型水平[7]。本文参考第二种测算方法,通过构建反映客户企业数字化转型的术语词典。然后,利用Python爬虫功能对客户企业的年度报告进行分词处理,统计数字化术语出现的频数,并加1后,取自然对数,表征客户企业数字化转型水平。
(3)控制变量。为准确识别客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的因果效应,缓解回归过程中可能存在的内生性问题,本文参考周剑明[28]等相关文献的做法,从行业、地区和企业层面选取控制变量,行业和地区层面包括:①行业数字化转型水平(Ind_Dig)。采用供应商企业所属行业的企业数字化转型水平均值表征。②区域互联网发展水平(Internet)。以供应商企业所在地级市互联网宽带接入端口数的自然对数度量。企业层面包括:①资本结构(Capital)。用供应商企业年平均负债总额与年平均资产总额的比值度量。②企业治理水平(Gov)。综合考量第二至第十大股东持股比例、董事会会议频次、监事会与董事会规模、前三高管薪酬总和、高层管理人员持股比例、董事长与总经理职务是否兼任等因素,运用主成分分析法测算企业治理水平。③管理成本(Mcost)。以供应商企业管理费用占主营业务收入的比重度量。④人力资源规模(HR)。以供应商企业员工总数的自然对数度量。⑤研发投入规模(RD)。以供应商企业研发投入加1的自然对数表征
本文以2011—2022年沪深A股上市公司为研究样本,并进行如下处理:①剔除ST和期间退市的企业;②剔除金融类企业;③剔除在考察年限中进行IPO的企业;④剔除了主要变量数据缺失的企业;⑤对所有连续变量进行1%和99%的缩尾处理,以消除离群值的影响。根据本文实证分析的需要,按照“供应商企业-客户企业-年度”的方式构建数据集,具体为:供应商企业(A)当年(2011年)的主要客户企业分别为X、Y和Z,则构建A-X-2011、A-Y-2011、A-Z-2011的观测值。本文只考虑供应商企业的前五大客户企业。客户企业信息来源于中国研究数据服务平台(CNRDS)数据库,最终得到2504个观测值。除上述数据外,本文所使用的其他数据来自国家知识产权局专利数据库、历年《中国统计年鉴》以及CSMAR数据库。
表1为基准回归结果。其中,列(1)-(3)分别纳入年份固定效应、行业固定效应,以及同时纳入年份和行业固定效应。Dig_Chain的估计系数均在1%水平上显著为正,证实了客户企业数字化转型沿供应链的数字技术创新溢出事实。研究假设1得到经验证据的支持。
为了考察基准回归结论的可靠性,采用的稳健性检验包括:(1)更换样本期间。自2015年以来,中国数字经济获得快速发展,使得供应商企业与客户企业间的信息流动性和交互性得到了显著提升。另外,2019年年末公共卫生事件的暴发对经济发展带来严重冲击,为了排除该特殊事件的影响。本文将数据样本期间限定在2015—2019年。(2)改变主要变量测算方式。改变核心解释变量测算方式。企业数字化转型是一个系统性变革过程,数字化转型信息不仅作为数字化战略体现在每年的年报上,而且还列示在财务报表的具体项目上。基于此,从财务报表的角度出发,若无形资产明细项涉及“软件”“客户端”“智能平台”等数字技术关键词或相关专利,则将其归类为“数字技术无形资产”,再以该类资产金额占当年无形资产总额的比例,作为度量企业数字化转型水平的代理变量;改变被解释变量测算方式。不同方法测算的数字技术创新水平可能也会对估计结果产生影响。通常而言,专利申请数量是评估企业研发创新能力的常用指标。为此,放宽数字技术创新指标的范围,选择用供应商企业申请数字专利数量来度量其数字技术创新。上述的系列稳健检验结果表明,基准回归结论是稳健的。
由于证监会并未强制要求上市公司实名披露主要客户信息,是否公开主要客户信息完全由上市公司自主选择。部分上市公司基于行业竞争和商业机密的考虑,往往倾向于不披露主要客户信息,进而可能产生样本选择问题。为了处理可能存在的因样本选择而导致的内生性问题,在此运用Heckman两阶段模型对潜在的样本选择偏误进行修正。首先,建立第一阶段选择方程,再借助Probit模型进行回归,得到逆米尔斯比率(IMR);其次,将IMR作为控制变量,建立第二阶段矫正模型,并进行回归。第二阶段的回归结果如表2的列(1)所示,从列(1)的回归结果可得,样本选择修正项的估计系数在10%的显著性水平下显著异于零,说明样本中存在选择性偏误的风险。在排除了样本选择问题后,基准回归结论仍未发生实质性改变。
本文基于企业层面的样本开展实证分析,并已在基准回归中加入行业和年份固定效应,以控制行业特征以及宏观经济波动冲击的影响。但考虑到不同行业和不同城市在特定年份可能同时受到共同冲击,从而对估计结果产生潜在干扰。为进一步缓解上述问题,本文进一步纳入了“年份-行业”和“年份-城市”二维交互固定效应项,以捕捉不同行业和不同城市在面对相同时间冲击时可能存在的差异性反应。具体回归结果如表2的列(2)和列(3)所示,结果表明,在同时控制多维交互项固定效应后,核心解释变量的估计系数仍然在5%水平上显著为正。说明基准回归结论并未因模型设定的调整而发生实质性变化,基准回归结论是可靠的。
当供应商企业与客户企业属于同一行业时,由于技术基础、市场结构和需求导向高度相似,这为供应商企业与客户企业奠定了坚实的合作创新基础,供应商企业与客户企业之间的合作关系自然也会更紧密,从而能够进一步释放客户企业数字化转型所带来的技术创新溢出效应。基于此,本文猜测当供应商企业与客户企业属于同一行业时,客户企业数字化转型的数字技术创新溢出效应更大。为了验证该猜测,本文基于供应商企业与客户企业是否为相同行业,将样本企业划分为相同行业样本组和不同行业样本组,并分别进行回归,具体回归结果如表3的列(1)和列(2)所示。回归结果表明,当双方为同一行业时,客户企业数字化转型的数字技术创新溢出效应更大,验证了前述的猜测。
客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的影响并非孤立发生,而是深度嵌入到行业整体的数字化生态之中。根据技术协同理论,外部数字资源的吸收效率受制于企业所处环境的“数字基建设施密度”与“知识解码能力”。当供应商企业来自高数字化转型水平行业时,其可通过行业通用的数据接口标准、共享型技术平台等降低与客户企业的协作摩擦,从而能够更高效地将外部数字化投入转化为自身创新产出;反之,当供应商企业来自低数字化转型水平行业时,由于技术协议割裂、数字人才匮乏等形成的“协同阻尼”,阻碍了供应商企业与客户企业间的跨链协同,从而削弱客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的促进作用。基于此,本文推测当供应商企业来自高数字化转型水平行业时,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的影响效应会更大。为了验证该推测,本文通过测算供应商企业所处行业的数字化转型水平,并按照其所处行业数字化转型水平的中位数将样本企业划分为高数字化转型水平组和低数字化转型水平组。回归结果如表3的列(3)和列(4)所示。回归结果表明,当供应商企业来自高数字化转型水平行业时,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的影响更大,验证了前述的推测。
基于前文的分析,在式(1)的基础上,建立中介机制检验模型:

其中,Medit为中介变量,包括信息溢出(Information)和供需适配(Relation)两个变量,其他变量的含义与式(1)相同。
(1)信息溢出机制
由于专利引文数据能够直接、客观地观察企业间的技术创新溢出,为此,本文使用供应商企业引用客户企业数字技术创新的专利数量来度量信息溢出(Information)。表4的列(1)和列(2)汇报了相应的回归结果。该回归结果表明,客户企业数字化转型显著促进了供应商企业的数字技术专利引用行为,即客户企业数字化转型提升了创新知识在供应链上的传递速度和共享水平,从而促进了供应商企业数字技术创新。
(2)供需适配机制
通常而言,供需适配度越高,表明供应商企业与客户企业的合作关系越稳定。鉴于此,本文以供应商企业与客户企业合作关系的稳定性,表征供应商企业与客户企业的供需适配度。具体为:采用供应商企业年末前五大客户中存量客户企业数量占比(Relation)衡量供应商企业与客户企业合作关系的稳定性。该指标越大,表明老客户所占的比例越高,则双方合作关系越稳定,反之则越不稳定。回归结果汇报于表4的列(3)和列(4)所示,根据表4列(3)的回归结果可得,客户企业数字化转型显著提升了其与供应商企业的供需适配度,这表明客户企业数字化转型通过倒逼供应商企业适配其新需求,提升了供需适配度,进而激励其开展数字技术创新活动。
综合而言,客户企业数字化转型通过信息溢出和供需适配两条渠道促进了供应商企业数字技术创新,研究假设2得到验证。
基于上述分析,建立如下调节机制检验模型:

其中Extit为调节变量,包含合作紧密度(CC)及行业竞争强度(HH)两个变量。其他变量的含义与式(1)一致。
(1)合作紧密度调节机制
合作紧密度反映了供应商企业对客户企业的依赖程度,与客户企业的合作紧密度越高,表明供应商企业对客户企业的依赖性越强。已有研究使用多种策略来评估供应商企业与客户企业的合作紧密度,其中,主流的做法是以主要客户的销售占比表征。鉴于此,本文以销售额排名前5位客户企业占销售总额的比重衡量供应商企业与客户企业的合作紧密度。相应回归结果如表5的列(1)所示,由列(1)的回归结果可得,Dig_Chain CC的估计系数显著为正,说明供应商企业与客户企业的合作紧密度越高,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的促进作用越大。验证了研究假设3。
(2)行业竞争强度调节机制
已有研究文献通常采用赫芬达尔指数度量市场集中程度及竞争态势。为此,本文以赫芬达尔指数衡量供应商企业所处行业竞争强度。赫芬达尔指数的具体计算公式为:H=∑(${S}_{i}^{2}$),其中Si表示第i家企业的市场份额,通常以销售额、销售量或者资产规模占比衡量,本文以销售额占比衡量。赫芬达尔指数越接近1,表示该行业的竞争程度越低;越接近0,表示行业竞争程度越高。为了便于理解,以1与赫芬达尔指数的差值衡量行业竞争强度。相应回归结果如表5的列(2)所示。列(2)的回归结果表明,供应商企业所处行业竞争越激烈,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的促进作用越大。验证了研究假设4。
本文基于供应链这一独特研究视角,深入揭示客户企业数字化转型沿供应链数字技术创新溢出的机制,并进行细致实证检验,得到的主要研究结论如下:
(1)客户企业数字化转型促进了供应商企业数字技术创新。基准回归结果表明,客户企业数字化转型正向影响了供应商企业数字技术创新,经过一系列稳健性检验和内生性讨论表明该结论是可靠的。企业数字化转型大幅改善了供应链上信息的传递和共享环境,推动企业数字化转型的经济后果沿供应链加快溢出。本文研究验证了企业数字化转型沿供应链的数字技术创新溢出事实,是对数字化转型经济后果研究领域的丰富。
(2)对于与客户企业属于同行业和来自高数字化转型水平行业的供应商企业而言,客户企业数字化转型对数字技术创新有更大的促进作用。异质性分析发现,无论供应商企业与客户企业是否为同一行业,客户企业数字化转型均对供应商企业数字技术创新具有显著的正影响,但当供应商企业与客户企业为同行业时,客户企业数字化转型沿供应链的数字技术创新溢出效应更大。同时,无论供应商企业是否来自高数字化转型水平行业,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新均具有正影响,但对高数字化转型水平供应商企业的影响更大。上述结论揭示了客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新影响的边界,为促进数字技术创新相关政策的制定提供了新证据,可为政府相关部门分类施策,提高政策精准性提供决策参考。
(3)客户企业数字化转型通过信息溢出和供需适配两条渠道促进了供应商企业数字技术创新,并且合作紧密度和行业竞争强度正向调节了两者之间的关系。机制分析显示,客户企业数字化转型一方面通过推动信息溢出,另一方面通过提升双方的供需适配度,进而促进供应商企业数字技术创新。此外,与客户企业的合作紧密度越高、供应商企业所属行业竞争越激烈,客户企业数字化转型沿供应链的数字技术创新溢出效应越大。该研究发现揭示了客户企业数字化转型沿供应链数字技术创新溢出的作用渠道,为深入理解客户企业数字化转型的技术创新溢出,以及推动企业数字技术创新相关政策的制定提供了理论依据。
基于以上的研究结论,本文得到以下政策启示:
(1)鼓励企业建立数字共享平台,推动数字技术创新加快溢出。信息溢出是客户企业数字化转型促进供应商企业数字技术创新的重要渠道之一。因此,相关政府部门应以供应链数字技术创新溢出为切入点,鼓励企业加快建立数字共享平台,以增强供应链上企业的合作与交流,加速数据流通与共享,推动数字技术创新加快在供应链上的渗透与扩散,进而促进整个供应链上企业数字技术创新,形成供应链上数字技术创新涌现。
(2)加大数字基础设施投入,降低数字技术创新成本。供需适配是客户企业数字化转型促进供应商企业数字技术创新的另一个重要渠道。为了适配客户企业数字化转型带来的需求新变化,供应商企业需要加大数字技术创新投入,主动开展数字技术创新活动,但成本高昂是供应商企业开展数字技术创新活动面临的主要难题。为了降低供应商企业与客户企业供需信息的交流及处理成本,鼓励供应商企业加大数字技术创新投入,相关政府部门应加大数字基础设施建设的投入力度,为供应商企业与客户企业建立实时供需信息的交换、处理等提供支持,推动供需适配机制充分发挥。
(3)保持高度关注,增强自身数字技术创新能力。在客户企业数字化转型推动供应商企业数字技术创新的过程中,合作紧密度具有显著的正向调节作用。为此,供应商企业应高度关注与其合作紧密度高客户企业的数字化转型进展,通过学习和借鉴其成功经验,不断提升自身数字技术创新能力,并相应调整自身业务布局和技术创新方向。同时,供应商企业应主动参与客户企业数字技术研发活动,共同应对和解决数字技术创新过程中面临的技术难点。双方通过开展协同创新不仅能够提高数字技术研发效率,还有助于进一步巩固双方之间的合作关系,实现互利共赢。此外,鉴于数字技术创新具有持续性特征,供应商企业除需持续加大研发投入外,还应重点培养和建设一支具备强创新能力的研发团队。
(4)基于行业竞争强度分级,制定数字技术创新差异化支持政策。研究表明行业竞争强度越大,客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业数字技术创新的推动作用就越明显。为此,应根据不同行业竞争强度,制定差异化支持政策,以精准激发行业竞争对数字技术创新的驱动效应。对高竞争强度行业重点提供研发补贴与知识产权保护,对低竞争强度行业侧重提供技术共享平台与人才培养支持,通过差异化支持政策,优化资源配置,形成既激发高竞争行业创新活力,又补强低竞争行业基础能力的数字技术创新新格局。
当然,本文的研究仍存在一定的局限性:一是以中国供应链数据为研究对象,深入探讨客户企业数字化转型沿供应链的数字技术创新溢出机制。然而,由于各国在经济发展水平、市场运行机制和制度背景等方面并不一致,本文所得结论能否适用于其他国家或地区,仍有待未来研究加以验证;二是除了本文所关注的作用机制外,客户企业数字化转型如何通过其他渠道影响供应商企业数字技术创新,仍需后续研究加以深入探讨;三是本文以中国沪深A股上市公司为研究对象,并剔除金融类和ST上市公司,因此研究结论可能不适用于这些上市公司及非上市公司。
