New digital empowerment ventures and their digital innovation activities are crucial for the integration of digital and physical realms and the development of new quality productive forces. However,due to the disadvantages of start-ups and the complexity of the digital innovation process,the outcomes of digital innovation in new digital empowerment ventures are often highly uncertain. Lean startup,as a crucial strategic approach to managing uncertainty,plays a significant role in optimizing the structure of new digital-enabled ventures and improving digital innovation performance. Based on the "strategy-structure-performance" paradigm,this study constructed a relational model between lean startup,modular architecture (including modular product architecture and modular organizational architecture),and digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures. By conducting the hierarchical regression and bootstrap analysis of the data collected from 267 new digital empowerment ventures,the study found the following results: (1) Lean startup has a strong positive effect on the digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures;(2) Modular product architecture and modular organizational architecture respectively play a mediating role in the relationship between lean startup and digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures;and (3) Modular product architecture and modular organizational architecture act as a chain mediator between lean startup and digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures. This study has clarified the mechanism by which lean startup influences the digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures,thereby extending the research on lean startup and digital innovation. Additionally,it will provide theoretical basis and decision-making reference for the integration of digital economy and physical economy in China.

新创数字赋能企业及其数字创新活动对数实融合实践和发展新质生产力尤为关键,但归咎于新创劣势以及数字创新过程的复杂性,新创数字赋能企业的数字创新结果往往高度不确定。精益创业作为驾驭不确定性的重要战略举措,对优化新创数字赋能企业架构以及改善数字创新绩效具有重要意义。本研究基于“战略-结构-绩效”范式,提出了新创数字赋能企业精益创业、模块化架构(包括模块化产品架构和模块化组织架构)与数字创新绩效间的关系假设。通过对267家新创数字赋能企业的数据进行层次回归和Bootstrap分析,研究发现:(1)精益创业对新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效具有显著正向影响;(2)模块化产品和组织架构分别在精益创业与新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效之间起到了中介作用;(3)模块化产品和组织架构在精益创业和新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效关系中起到了链式中介作用。本研究揭示了精益创业对新创数字赋能企业数字创新绩效的作用机制,不仅扩展了精益创业和数字创新的研究,也为我国数字经济与实体经济的融合实践提供了理论依据和决策借鉴。

新创数字赋能企业及其数字创新活动对数实融合实践和发展新质生产力尤为关键,但归咎于新创劣势以及数字创新过程的复杂性,新创数字赋能企业的数字创新结果往往高度不确定。精益创业作为驾驭不确定性的重要战略举措,对优化新创数字赋能企业架构以及改善数字创新绩效具有重要意义。本研究基于“战略-结构-绩效”范式,提出了新创数字赋能企业精益创业、模块化架构(包括模块化产品架构和模块化组织架构)与数字创新绩效间的关系假设。通过对267家新创数字赋能企业的数据进行层次回归和Bootstrap分析,研究发现:(1)精益创业对新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效具有显著正向影响;(2)模块化产品和组织架构分别在精益创业与新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效之间起到了中介作用;(3)模块化产品和组织架构在精益创业和新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效关系中起到了链式中介作用。本研究揭示了精益创业对新创数字赋能企业数字创新绩效的作用机制,不仅扩展了精益创业和数字创新的研究,也为我国数字经济与实体经济的融合实践提供了理论依据和决策借鉴。

New digital empowerment ventures and their digital innovation activities are crucial for the integration of digital and physical realms and the development of new quality productive forces. However,due to the disadvantages of start-ups and the complexity of the digital innovation process,the outcomes of digital innovation in new digital empowerment ventures are often highly uncertain. Lean startup,as a crucial strategic approach to managing uncertainty,plays a significant role in optimizing the structure of new digital-enabled ventures and improving digital innovation performance. Based on the "strategy-structure-performance" paradigm,this study constructed a relational model between lean startup,modular architecture (including modular product architecture and modular organizational architecture),and digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures. By conducting the hierarchical regression and bootstrap analysis of the data collected from 267 new digital empowerment ventures,the study found the following results: (1) Lean startup has a strong positive effect on the digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures;(2) Modular product architecture and modular organizational architecture respectively play a mediating role in the relationship between lean startup and digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures;and (3) Modular product architecture and modular organizational architecture act as a chain mediator between lean startup and digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures. This study has clarified the mechanism by which lean startup influences the digital innovation performance of new digital empowerment ventures,thereby extending the research on lean startup and digital innovation. Additionally,it will provide theoretical basis and decision-making reference for the integration of digital economy and physical economy in China.

在新一轮科技革命和产业变革的背景下,数字经济与实体经济的融合已成为推动新质生产力发展的关键。党的二十大报告指出,要加速数字经济发展,推动其与实体经济深度融合,并建设在国际层面具备竞争力的数字产业集群。立足于超大规模市场和中国式现代化制度优势,人工智能、互联网、云计算和大数据等数字技术,得以迅速和广泛地融合至我国传统产业技术创新的研发、制造以及成果转化等各个流程中[1]。发布于中国信通院的《中国数字经济发展研究报告(2023年)》表明,我国2022年的产业数字化以及数字产业化的规模共计超过50万亿元,数字经济正深度融入实体经济,并通过赋能与重塑等机制,作为核心动能推动实体经济产业结构的升级与动能的转换[2]。在这一背景下,数字创新活动作为数实融合最为关键的质变环节而广受重视,已然成为当前理论和实践共同关注的热点议题[1,3-4]
当前关于数字赋能的研究大多关注的是树根互联[5]等工业互联网平台以及施耐德电气[6]等大型制造企业。考虑数字创新的无限性特征(unbounded nature)[3],数字资源和传统资源的融合创新不仅依赖于对数字技术本身的掌握,同时也需要对特定业务场景的深刻理解[5,7]。然而,大型赋能企业通常出于经济性考虑,会将注意力聚焦于制造业梯度的中高阶部分,对于细分领域具体场景的关注则相对缺乏[5]。我们前期针对新创数字赋能企业的访谈语料也显示,新创数字赋能企业普遍对其专注的垂直工业领域有着独到的理解,大型工业互联网平台经常通过再分包的方式,将转型业务或数字产品开发任务移交给对业务场景理解更为深刻的新创数字赋能企业。可以说新创数字赋能企业在各自利基赛道的数字赋能中,相对于大型企业在我国产业数字化结构中起到了类似“桥头堡”的作用[1]。郭润萍等[8]的研究也表明,面对新创劣势困境的数字创新主体反而能够依赖企业战略优势释放出其独有的数字价值势能。因此,深入探讨新创数字赋能企业的数字创新过程具有重要意义。既有研究认为,精益创业作为一种以敏捷回应客户需要为主旨的战略思想,强调以不断试验、学习和创新的“小步快跑”运动态势来驾驭不确定性[9],这高度契合于低合法性和资源受限的新创数字赋能企业的战略需求[10]。尽管已有学者关注了数字创新创业活动中的精益创业方法[10-12],但精益创业与数字创新绩效之间的具体关系尚未得到充分揭示。
进一步地,基于精益创业理论,现有研究指出,精益思想在数字创新中的应用实质是对组织联结关键核心要素的架构进行改造和升级,以使其能够即时响应动态需求[11]。因此,精益创业将嵌入至新创数字赋能企业架构的模块化重塑和演变过程[12]。基于该理论视角,本文引入模块化产品架构与模块化组织架构作为中介变量,旨在揭示精益创业对数字创新绩效形成影响的过程机制。一方面,为了避免资源浪费并聚焦于客户价值挖掘,精益创业鼓励新创主体以“开发-测量-认知”的环形逻辑来实施验证性学习[9,13]。其提倡的最小化产品法、客户反馈法和快速迭代法等原则,均指向于将产品和组织架构打造成一个集约资源、快速响应以及自由组合的形态[11],这与模块化架构呈现的松散耦合结构不谋而合[14]。另一方面,面对“千企千策”的数字转型诉求,数字解决方案提供商需要满足更加多元的个性化需求,这使得从纷繁复杂的数字方案中提炼出一套模块化结构的数字产品(组),成为协调个性和共性矛盾的最优解[5]。同时,相互独立、平行发展、可任意重组的组织结构也能够赋予新创数字赋能企业兼具独立性和协调性优势[15]。因此,模块化架构可以说是新创数字赋能企业开展数字创新最理想的配置之一。
综上,本文将“战略-结构-绩效”(SSP)范式作为研究框架,以新创数字赋能企业及其数字创新过程作为研究情境,构建了“精益创业-模块化产品架构-模块化组织架构-数字创新绩效”的理论模型,以期明晰精益创业对数字创新绩效的作用机理。
精益创业最初被视为一种依托于验证式学习过程来持续促进创新的创业方法[9]。早期研究主要集中于探索精益创业的系统性执行过程,但随着精益创业应用和研究范围的持续延展,精益创业内隐的基础思想逐渐为学者所重视[12,16]。Atkinson[16]在其研究中指出,精益创业的核心在于将精益思想融入创业活动的方方面面,并强调“精”的持续改进内核以及“益”的价值导向表征。Ghezzi[12]在数字创业的研究中也指出,精益创业是由以精益思想为底座的商业战略与以效果推理逻辑为原则的行动模式共同构成的。进一步地,考虑到战略视角能够为精益创业提供更深层的本质性解释,朱秀梅和董钊[9]从战略特征的角度对精益创业进行了概念扩展,认为精益创业是一种采取精益思想与效果推理逻辑的系统化创业手段。其核心特征囊括通过精益战略不断发掘客户价值并开发新机会,以及在创业行动策略上采取验证、学习与创新来缓解模糊性和敏捷响应动态性市场需求。由于数字创新过程需要整体组织形态(包括结构、流程、协调、激励等要素)的相互适应[4],因此,单独以系统方法为视角难以充分诠释数字创新过程的整体性,战略视角下的精益创业内涵与本研究更为适配。
从数字赋能企业角度来看,数字创新绩效是其利用数字技术来改善使能企业现有研发、制造和营销等价值创造过程,并获得预期的有益结果[1,17-18]。由于新创数字赋能企业存在着“新创”和“赋能”的双重属性[1],尽管对数字技术以及创新应用的独到见解意味着其具备较大的数字潜能,但也同样面临着严峻的资源约束,这造就了其数字创新绩效涌现存在不稳定性[1,8]。精益创业强调的客户需求主导和持续迭代策略能够弥补新创数字赋能企业的资源局限劣势,为新创数字赋能企业突破“冷启动悖论”提供了战略引导[11]。具体来说,一方面,现有研究表明,数字创新成效取决于掌握数字技术的赋能企业与掌握业务诀窍的行业用户的共创共建[5]。执行精益战略的新创数字赋能企业,通过与使能企业深度互动,能够更精准地捕获转型需求信息,并通过对数字技术和业务场景的耦合,推动具有实际应用价值的数字创新突破[10]。另一方面,精益创业还能够提升新创赋能企业对远景目标和当下任务之间的协调能力,为其数字创新战略的持续精进留有空间[16]。这一过程契合了数字创新的无限性特征,并能够敏捷地响应客户业务流程动态变化引发的需求更迭[3],进而促进数字创新绩效的持续涌现。基于以上思考,本文提出如下假设:
H1:精益创业对新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效存在显著正向影响。
模块化产品架构是指将一体化产品设计为由一组互为独立的模块组成,且这些模块能够被复用、互换和拼接,从而使产品具备多样性优势[19]。研究表明,数字产品模块化呈现的松散耦合形态,对于消解数字创新复杂性尤为关键[5]。一方面,各数字产品模块可以进行灵活的个性化创新;另一方面,数字产品模块间的连接遵循通用标准,从而提升了数字创新的协同效率[20]。此外,数字创新中的个性与共性悖论可以通过模块化产品架构得以有效协同。依据精益创业理念,新创数字赋能企业能够开发出成本可控和功能完备的最小化可行产品(MVP),且能在与使能企业的持续交互中逐步验证和更迭,以实现敏捷开发[9],精益创业强调的“最小化可行产品”理念与模块化理论的“近可分解性”思想在产品开发领域具有相似的底层逻辑。两者均指向于将产品拆解为最小的标准化单元。此外,精益创业提倡在注重客户价值的同时,尽可能地消除资源浪费[12]。因此,为了避免在异质性的数字化场景中重复研发,并响应个性化的数字服务需求,将数字化解决方案凝结为数字产品并设计为模块化结构,成了精益创业下新创数字赋能企业的最优解[5]。与此同时,为了充分释放数字工具的价值,将数字工具操作主导权移交给更熟悉业务场景的人员是分布式数字创新范式下的趋势[21-22],而精益创业突出的客户价值最大化原则意味着新创数字赋能企业更有意愿通过模块化产品手段来消除数字工具使用的复杂性,从而强化用户使用体验和激活数字效能。例如,容智将RPA(机器人流程自动化)设计模块化,非IT人员可以像“搭积木”一样配置安装所需的RPA功能[1]
进一步地,模块化产品架构也能通过舒缓资源压力、聚焦研发任务、强化数实联结等路径,提升新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效。具体而言,首先,由于数字产品模块化结构保证了不同产品模块能够实现分布式研发、测试及并行开发、快速组装等,这不仅大幅缩短了产品开发周期,同时也有效避免了重复开发引发的资源浪费,从而缓解了新创数字赋能企业的资源压力[10],有助于数字创新效率的提升。其次,数字赋能企业往往同时承担了数字产品研发任务与数字解决方案交付任务,这使得他们面临开发者和交付者的双重角色悖论[5],而在模块化的产品架构下,组织可以通过空间分离策略应对这一角色悖论。具体来说,在模块化产品架构下,数字产品模块的开发者能够专注自身产品模块的研发,灵活组合和拼接的特征使得交付任务得以简化并能够分工给第三方交付者或客户,同时,各子模块能够自由地引入新理念[14],从而使突变性数字创新成为可能,且在未来数字创新中发挥技术杠杆效应[22]。最后,数字产品模块的分解与标准化接口的生成,有助于新创数字赋能企业实现数字模块的分布式创新。在业务场景理解较为深刻的客户或者第三方交付者对模块的调度和使用下,数字技术知识和业务内隐知识得以深度融合,并以方案模型的形态通过分布式机制反哺于新创数字赋能企业[21]。基于以上思考,本文提出如下假设:
H2:精益创业通过促进产品架构的模块化,进而提升新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效。
模块化组织架构是面向化解复杂系统管理难题而形成的,它指的是在组织内部或者组织之间,通过标准化接口协议或者组织架构重塑,构建出平行发展、互为独立、可任意组合的组织架构形式,从而能够迅捷响应动态市场需求并化解经营活动复杂性的过程[15]。既有研究认为分工是组织模块化生成的核心原因之一,通过对杂糅的知识或者信息进行切割与分派,模块化分工将知识或者信息集成在模块内部以消解系统的复杂度,同时标准化了模块之间的协调方式[15]。因此,从细化分工的视角,精益创业会从以下路径催生新创数字赋能企业组织架构的模块化:其一,精益创业内在的柔性、迭代式学习和机动性等特征赋予了新创数字赋能企业敏捷开发的要求[23],新创数字赋能企业需要形成对应的组织结构来匹配敏捷开发能力,而模块化组织架构作为敏捷性提升的重要手段,已经在既有研究中被证实[24]。其二,精益创业强调所有活动都应围绕客户价值开发而展开,并要求企业裁减任何不产生价值或浪费组织资源的环节与结构[9,25]。由于模块化组织架构能够起到资源复用和效率最大化的作用,故而执行精益创业战略的新创数字赋能企业会倾向于将一体化的组织结构逐步改造为模块化的集约形态[14]
进一步地,组织模块化架构模式强调通过系统管理者主导子模块的信息采集、加工和分发,以确保各子模块的独立性,同时实现模块间的协同作用[15]。这种模式在新创数字赋能企业中能够融合模块化的独立性与协调性优势,推动数字创新突破。具体来说,一方面,独立性优势体现在模块内部能够专注于拔高关键数字创新能力,同时在应对不确定性的过程中保持战略柔性[23-24]。区别于一般创新对结果和过程的侧重,由于数字创新的无限性特征,数字创新更倾向于以“问题-解决方案”匹配为设计导向[3],也即重视新的数字技术与现有市场需求之间的持续匹配。这种持续性的特性所引发的柔性需求更能够激活组织模块化架构的独立性优势。同时,拥有完备结构的独立子模块群能够并行开展更多的数字创新实验,增加了突破式数字创新实现的概率。另一方面,协调性优势则体现在接口或者界面的标准化为知识、信息或者资源在系统内或者模块间的流动提供了驱动力[15]。在数字资源自生长特性的要求下,组织需要不断地聚焦注意力于鉴别现存资源与新兴数字资源间的重组潜力[4],而模块化组织架构的协调性能够促进资源的共享与再配置,有益于新创数字赋能企业通过重组产生数字创新。此外,由于各个子模块的研发活动由系统管理者统筹调度,因而模块化的组织架构在系统层面仍然保有协作能力,确保了新创数字赋能企业面对市场需求波动时,能够在系统管理者的统一调度下敏捷地选择协同和分散,在速度上先于竞争者推出数字产品或服务[14]。故而,提出以下假设:
H3:精益创业通过促进组织架构的模块化,进而提升新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效。
镜像假设认为,产品与组织架构间有着在互为映射的镜像关系,即一旦锚定了技术架构的主导设计,组织就有必要选取与之相匹配的分工模式,以确保可以依据恰如其分的组织流程来达成目标[15]。这意味着组织模块化与产品模块化是“同构”的,产品模块化能够直接映射到组织模块化。然而,近年来,部分学者对“镜像假设”提出疑问,认为该假设只关注系统分解为可分立模块并且可独自进行模块创新的“模块化解构”过程,而忽视了“模块化集结”中的界面确定过程,进而可能导致“异构”形态的出现[26]。区别于传统企业,新创数字赋能企业的组织运作模式更具连通性和灵活性[1,8],这一定程度消弭了“模块化集结”过程中的界面确定问题。因此,新创数字赋能企业的镜像映射过程将更为顺畅和灵活,模块化的数字产品设计理念也更有可能会映射至数字新创赋能企业组织结构中去。进一步地,结合前文中的各个假设,基于SSP范式,本文提出了“精益创业-模块化产品架构-模块化组织架构-数字创新绩效”这一链式中介逻辑。执行精益创业战略的新创数字赋能企业锚定于客户价值的最大化,通过设计开发最小化数字产品单元以及持续实验和迭代不断响应高度动态的使能企业需求,进而生成模块化的数字产品结构来缓解资源压力、协调角色悖论以及强化场景共情能力,并通过镜像映射完成从一体化到模块化的组织架构转化,继而依托于模块化组织架构的独立性和协调性优势,达成并行创新的同时加强了现有资源与新数字资源的流通性,最终提升数字创新绩效。由此,提出如下假设:
H4:模块化产品与组织架构于精益创业和新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效之间发挥了链式中介作用。
综上,本文研究模型如图1所示。
本文聚焦于新创数字赋能企业的数字创新过程,且着重从产品架构角度探讨了其路径机制。因此我们按照以下准则对调研对象进行选择:首先,我们择取企业年龄在8年及以下的新企业作为研究对象;其次,借鉴郭润萍等[8]的研究,参考《2020年中国数字经济发展白皮书》对数字行业的界定,将数据采集对象限定在互联网业、软件业和电信业等行业;最后,考虑到本研究关注的是具有数字化产品(如ERP和MES等信息系统)的新创数字赋能企业,而部分数字赋能企业可能并没有数字化产品(如纯设计类企业等),因此我们在问卷中设置“贵公司是否拥有应用软件或信息化系统等数字产品”这一题项对调研对象加以限定。具体的数据采集过程是:①问卷设计。通过参考国内外权威文献来确定相关的量表,并将量表交给两位管理学专业的博士研究生展开对译,对明显差异的题项进行修改。接着邀请两位身为新创数字赋能企业高层人员的DBA学员以及两位管理学资深教授对问卷进行探讨,以规范性、合理性、可理解性及简洁性为原则对问卷可能存在的问题提出意见,修改后形成问卷初稿;②预调研。在正式调研前,我们邀请了前期与课题组有合作基础的17位新创数字赋能企业高层管理人员进行访谈和问卷的预调研,并依据访谈和调研结果对原有问卷进行修订,本部分受访者不包含在正式调研的范围内;③正式调研:从2023年9月到2024年12月,依据课题组资源分布及数据的可获得性,对苏高新软件园(苏州)、天府软件园(成都)、云南省高创园(昆明)等创业孵化基地和软件园区的新创数字赋能企业展开调查,通过线上电子邮件或即时通信工具以及线下纸质面对面两种途径向目标企业高层管理人员发放调研问卷。本次调研共计发放问卷624份,收回问卷291份,问卷回收率为46.6%。按照全部选择同一题项、反向题偏移过大以及规律性、连续性勾选的标准剔除无效问卷后获得267份有效问卷。有效问卷中,52.40%的企业成立时间小于4年;29.20%的企业员工数量为51-100人;71.20%为非国有企业,余下为国有企业;企业主要集中于软件产业与互联网行业,占比42.56%。
本研究各变量测量均借鉴国内外权威文献中经过验证的量表,再融合本研究的情境展开微调,所有题项皆使用李克特5级量表(1表示完全不符合;5表示完全符合)进行测度。精益创业参照朱秀梅和董钊[9]的测度方式,共计包含13个题项,典型题项如:“我们鼓励现有客户向新客户推介我们的产品,并依此考虑如何改进流程”。模块化架构采用郑帅和王海军[15]改编的量表,分别包括4个题项,模块化产品架构的典型题项如:“我们产品组件的接口是预先设定好的”,模块化组织架构的典型题项如:“内部某部门业务较少受到其他部门的实质性干扰”。数字创新绩效借鉴了Khin和Ho[27]开发的6题项量表,典型题项如:“在同行业内,我们的数字解决方案质量更高”。此外,研究控制了成立年限、企业规模、所属行业以及企业性质四个企业层变量来消除或减少可能影响因变量的外部干扰[17]
研究使用SPSS 21.0和AMOS 23.0软件对精益创业等核心变量展开了信效度检验。信度方面,对精益创业、模块化产品架构、模块化组织架构和数字创新绩效进行可靠性分析,结果显示上述变量的Cronbach's α系数依次为0.916、0.890、0.878和0.860,这意味着本研究所有量表均具备较为优良的信度。效度方面,采用验证性因子分析方法来测试本研究量表的结构与区分效度。检验结果如表1所呈现的,完整四因素模型其拟合情况最佳,各个拟合指标都符合标准要求,本研究各主要变量间的区分效度较为理想。
假设检验之前,为了检验变量之间的相关性,研究使用SPSS 22.0软件进行Pearson相关性分析。具体均值、标准差以及相关系数如表2所示。精益创业与模块化产品架构(r=0.304,p<0.01)、模块化组织架构(r=0.396,p<0.01)和数字创新绩效(r=0.319,p<0.01)均呈显著正相关,模块化产品架构与模块化组织架构(r=0.317,p<0.01)和数字创新绩效(r=0.296,p<0.01)均显著正相关,模块化组织架构与数字创新绩效也显著正相关(r=0.400,p<0.01)。由此,本研究的理论假设得到初步验证。
考虑到数据均为高层管理人员自评,仍存在同源偏差的可能性。因此,本研究进一步使用SPSS 22.0软件执行了Harman单因素方差检验,检验结果显示KMO为0.896,在未旋转的前提下,首个因子能够对32.105%的方差进行解释,小于40%的临界值,这表明变量中不存在能对大部分方差变异量做出解释的因子,本研究并不存在严重的共同方法偏差。
本文采用层次回归分析方法检验各理论假设,回归结果如表3所示。根据Model1,在控制了企业特征的基础上,精益创业对数字创新绩效具有显著正向影响(β=0.317,p<0.01),假设1得到验证。Model2和Model4检验了模块化产品架构的中介作用,Model4结果显示精益创业对模块化产品架构具有显著正向影响(β=0.370,p<0.01),Model2结果显示在精益创业基础上,模块化产品架构对数字创新绩效具有显著影响(β=0.178,p<0.01),且精益创业对数字创新绩效仍保持显著影响(β=0.251,p<0.01)。这意味着精益创业能够通过促进产品架构的模块化,进而提升数字创新绩效,假设2得到支持。Model3与Model5检测了模块化组织架构可能的中介效应,Model5结果显示精益创业显著正向影响模块化组织架构(β=0.447,p<0.01),Model3结果显示在精益创业基础上,模块化组织架构对数字创新绩效具有显著影响(β=0.289,p<0.01),此时精益创业对数字创新绩效的回归系数由0.317下降为0.188,但依然保持在1%水平显著,意味着精益创业也能够通过促进组织架构的模块化,进而提升数字创新绩效,假设3得到验证。
研究采用非参数百分位Bootstrap方法来进一步确保中介效应检验结果的稳健性以及验证链式中介作用。选择95%置信水平并重复抽样5000次,结果如表4所示。精益创业对数字创新绩效的总效应值为0.317,95%的置信区间为[0.198,0.436],不包含零值。就总直接效应和总间接效应来看,精益创业对数字创新绩效总直接效应的效应值为0.156,95%的置信区间为[0.032,0.280],不包含零值,表明直接效应显著。精益创业对数字创新绩效总间接效应的效应值为0.162,95%的置信区间为[0.095,0.241],不包含零值,表明间接效应显著。就作用路径来看,模块化产品架构以及模块化组织架构的独立中介路径其中介效应值分别为0.047和0.096,95%置信区间分别为[0.004,0.103]与[0.045,0.163],均不包含零值,假设2和假设3再次得以支持;“精益创业→模块化产品架构→模块化组织架构→数字创新绩效”路径的中介效应值为0.019,95%的置信区间为[0.008,0.036],不包含零值,因此,精益创业经由模块化产品与组织架构影响数字创新绩效的链式路径其系数显著,假设4得到验证。
本研究以新创数字赋能企业为研究对象,基于SSP范式,探究了精益创业对数字创新绩效的影响,并检验了模块化架构的中介作用,实证研究得出以下结论:
(1)精益创业对新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效有积极影响。精益创业强调以客户需求为主导的原则,以及持续学习和迭代的创新理念,不仅有效缓解了新创数字赋能企业因“新创”属性而面临资源压力,还通过与利益相关者的互动和持续精进,弥合了数字技术与业务诀窍之间的鸿沟,疏通了“赋能”属性所内隐的跨组织知识融合障碍。本文拓展了数字赋能研究的主体范围,聚焦于更具数字创新活力的新创数字赋能企业,并从战略视角深入诠释了精益创业的内涵及其与数字创新绩效的关系,丰富了精益创业研究。
(2)精益创业对数字创新绩效的激发效用会通过模块化产品和组织架构分别形成。在精益创业这一战略的引领下,新创数字赋能企业的产品架构以及组织架构趋向于模块化形态。具体地说,模块化产品架构通过缓解资源压力、聚焦研发任务和强化数实联结等功能,以及模块化组织架构在独立性和协调性方面的优势,进一步促进了数字创新绩效。本研究探明了模块化产品与组织架构分别在精益创业和数字创新绩效间的介导作用,揭示了精益创业与数字创新绩效之间的“黑箱”,并在数字创新情境下对模块化架构的可能性前因后果进行了探索,拓展了模块化理论的适用边界。
(3)精益创业通过塑造模块化的产品架构并依托镜像原理推动组织架构的模块化,从而有效促进了数字创新绩效的提升。基于镜像假设,精益思想塑造的模块化产品结构不仅会直接激活数字创新,还通过映射机制催生模块化组织结构的形成,从而使得精益创业战略通过模块化产品架构和模块化组织架构这一序贯路径,提升新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效。这一过程不仅厘清了精益创业战略激活数字创新绩效的链式路径,也将SSP范式从传统经济活动引入至数字经济活动中,丰富了SSP范式的理论范畴。此外,本研究还考虑了数字创新过程的特殊性,针对既往“模块化集结”中的界面确定问题,提供了在数字情境下的独到见解,进而在一定程度上调和了关于镜像假设的争议。
(1)新创数字赋能企业应高度重视并坚持执行精益创业战略。我们的研究结果表明,精益创业能够促进新创数字赋能企业的数字创新绩效。因此,新创数字赋能企业应采用紧贴客户需求的精益创业战略,采取不断试验、学习和创新的方法,在避免资源浪费的同时,深入理解并共情使能企业的数字化需求,通过持续数字创新手段敏捷应对市场波动。具体来说,数字赋能企业的管理者可以通过向专业管理学者咨询或参加系统化培训等途径,深入学习精益创业的思想内核,并将精益创业战略自上而下地嵌入至组织数字创新实践中。
(2)新创数字赋能企业应加速模块化架构创新。研究结果表明,精益创业还经由模块化产品与组织架构的序贯路径触发数字创新绩效的生成。随着数字化业务的不断增长,新创数字赋能企业不可避免地需要通过模块化产品和组织架构来协调数字解决方案交付与数字产品开发任务。因此,加速推进模块化架构创新是提升新创数字赋能企业数字创新绩效的关键举措。新创数字赋能企业应尽早在战略思想、愿景和实践中嵌入模块化架构设计逻辑,以有效应对数字创新过程中的不确定性,激活数字创新效能。
本文仍存在以下不足之处:首先,本研究采用了横断面的数据采集方式,因此无法对变量之间的因果关系做出严谨论断,且难以揭示精益创业对模块化产品架构、模块化组织架构以及数字创新绩效的动态影响过程。未来研究可以考虑采用具有时间跨度的纵向追踪方法,深入探讨精益创业与新创数字赋能企业数字创新绩效之间的作用机制。其次,本研究基于“战略-结构-绩效”范式探讨了精益创业与新创数字赋能企业数字创新之间的关系,但仅从模块化架构角度进行了实证分析。考虑到度量结构的要素还有很多,并且数字创新提倡与生态伙伴的价值共创,未来的研究可以从创新生态结构等视角进一步探索精益创业影响数字创新的路径机制。最后,囿于研究范式的结构完整性以及避免过度复杂,本研究并未考虑精益创业作用于新创数字赋能企业数字创新绩效的边界条件。后续研究可以进一步考虑组织、组织间以及平台等因素在精益创业与新创数字赋能创新绩效关系中的调节作用。
