The influence of Mg and Si content on the types and properties of actual precipitates in Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si alloy was investigated. The results show that a large amount of S phase and coarse second phases exist in the Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si alloy with high Mg content and regular Si content; the common θ phase and Ω phase are precipitated in the low-Mg and low-Si alloy; the common second phases in 6xxx aluminum alloys, such as σ and β″phases, appear in the alloy with low Mg content and regular Si content, and also fine and dispersed θ phases are precipitated in the alloy, which results in excellent strengthening effect of the alloy. Both Si and Mg greatly alter the precipitation sequence of the alloy, and the effect of Si cannot be offset by increasing Mg content. The addition of Si significantly inhibits the precipitation of Ω phase, while a considerable increase of Mg content can promote the precipitation of S phase.

研究了Mg、Si元素含量对Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si合金实际析出相种类及性能的影响。结果表明,Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si合金中高Mg含Si合金析出了大量S相和粗大的第二相;低Mg低Si合金中析出了常见的θ相和Ω相;低Mg含Si合金中出现了6系铝合金中常见的σ相和β″相等多种析出相,且具有非常细小弥散的θ相,为合金提供了良好的强化效果。Si和Mg的存在均极大地改变了合金的析出序列,无法通过增加Mg含量抵消Si的作用。Si的加入显著抑制了Ω相的析出,而大幅增加Mg含量则会促进S相的析出。

研究了Mg、Si元素含量对Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si合金实际析出相种类及性能的影响。结果表明,Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si合金中高Mg含Si合金析出了大量S相和粗大的第二相;低Mg低Si合金中析出了常见的θ相和Ω相;低Mg含Si合金中出现了6系铝合金中常见的σ相和β″相等多种析出相,且具有非常细小弥散的θ相,为合金提供了良好的强化效果。Si和Mg的存在均极大地改变了合金的析出序列,无法通过增加Mg含量抵消Si的作用。Si的加入显著抑制了Ω相的析出,而大幅增加Mg含量则会促进S相的析出。

The influence of Mg and Si content on the types and properties of actual precipitates in Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si alloy was investigated. The results show that a large amount of S phase and coarse second phases exist in the Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si alloy with high Mg content and regular Si content; the common θ phase and Ω phase are precipitated in the low-Mg and low-Si alloy; the common second phases in 6xxx aluminum alloys, such as σ and β″phases, appear in the alloy with low Mg content and regular Si content, and also fine and dispersed θ phases are precipitated in the alloy, which results in excellent strengthening effect of the alloy. Both Si and Mg greatly alter the precipitation sequence of the alloy, and the effect of Si cannot be offset by increasing Mg content. The addition of Si significantly inhibits the precipitation of Ω phase, while a considerable increase of Mg content can promote the precipitation of S phase.

铝合金一直是航空航天领域重要的金属材料[1]。Al-Cu-Mg-Ag合金作为一种新型可热处理强化的铝合金,是高速航天器蒙皮的理想材料[2]。Al-Cu-Mg-Ag合金优良的耐高温性能主要源于其析出相,包括Al2Cu(θ相)、Al2CuMg(S相)的亚稳相θ′相或S′相及在Ag作用下θ相的变种Ω相[3-5],Ω相的板状结构在200 ℃时十分稳定,是Al-Cu-Mg-Ag合金中最重要的热稳定相[6]。目前,Al-Cu-Mg-Ag合金相关研究中,通常将Si、Fe等当作杂质元素,主要针对Si对耐热相Ω相的不利影响,或完全忽略Si元素的影响[4,7-10]。实际生产过程中不可避免地会在Al-Cu-Mg-Ag合金中引入Si元素,研究Si元素对Al-Cu-Mg-Ag合金析出相的影响,或将Si元素与其他元素反应形成新的强化相以降低其危害是Al-Cu-Mg-Ag合金设计的重要方向。根据Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si体系相图及热力学数据,发现Si能形成有潜力的化合物[11-12]。在Al-Mg-Si合金体系中,Si能与Mg反应形成Mg5Si6(β″相)[13]。本文采用微合金化法制备了3种不同Mg、Si含量的Al-Cu-Mg-Ag合金,探究Mg、Si元素含量对Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-Si合金实际析出相种类及性能的影响。
实验所用原料为纯度99.9%的Al、Mg、Ag颗粒,质量比1∶1的Al-Cu中间合金及质量比9∶1的Al-Si中间合金。将实验原料放入真空高频感应熔炼炉中进行熔炼,通过电感耦合等离子体发射光谱仪(ICP-OES,720-ES,VARIAN)测量合金成分,并将不同成分的合金样品标记为样品1、2和3,见表1。将合金铸锭切割成10 mm×10 mm×10 mm的块状样,并置于箱式炉中520 ℃下等温处理24 h,取出后立即水淬以达到均匀化和固溶的目的,随后将3种合金试样置于箱式炉中200 ℃下等温时效不同时长,得到时效-硬度曲线。
使用全自动显微维氏硬度计(HV-1000JK)进行硬度测试,载荷为500 g,加载时间为15 s;每个样品测量5个不同位置的硬度并取平均值作为最终结果。采用扫描电镜(MIRA4 LMH)、能谱仪(One Max 50)及高分辨透射电镜(Tecnai G20)观察显微组织。
3种样品的时效-硬度曲线见图1。1、2和3号样品的峰时效硬度分别为150.06HV、120.86HV和117.72HV,说明Si含量增加,合金的峰值硬度显著降低;随着时效时间延长,3种样品的硬度均不同程度地降低。
200 ℃/18 h样品和200 ℃/600 h样品的硬度测试结果见图2。时效18 h后,1、2和3号样品的硬度值相近,分别为140.24HV,134.82HV和142.44HV。时效600 h后,所有合金硬度均有所降低,3种合金的硬度值分别为99.66HV,109.39HV和101.87HV。
200 ℃下时效18 h后样品SEM图见图3。图中白色物质为合金中的第二相,1号样品和2号样品析出相比较细小弥散,1号样品中析出相含量为0.69%,3号样品中析出相含量为1.33%。1、2和3号样品中第二相尺寸分别为1、2和5 μm。通过能谱测试发现,3号样品中第二相与其他样品不同。1、2号样品中析出相的Al/Cu比接近2∶1,为常见的θ相;3号样品中析出相成分接近S相且具有十分特殊的结构。同时,3号样品中基体的Si含量接近1号样品,这与Si在第二相中的固溶度有关。
200 ℃下时效600 h后样品SEM图如图4所示。与时效18 h后的样品相比,2号样品中第二相尺寸变化小,且基体中还出现了其他细小弥散的析出相。1号样品与3号样品中第二相均发生明显粗化。
对时效600 h后的3号样品进行面扫测试,结果如图5所示。在球状析出相处能观察到Cu、Mg、Ag、Si的富集,说明其由富Mg-Ag-Al部分、富Cu-Al部分及富Si-Cu-Al部分组成。观察Mg、Si的面扫图可以发现,在球状第二相附近存在Mg-Si相,具体表现为Mg和Si元素的富集,这说明此合金中的Mg原子能与部分Si原子反应生成Mg-Si相,从而减少基体中的Si含量。
采用TEM表征600 h时效后样品的微观组织,如图68所示。200 ℃下时效600 h后,1号样品内部主要为Ω相及少量S相,这与文献资料一致[3,14]。结合SEM和TEM分析结果可知,1号样品中θ′相几乎转化为尺寸较大的θ相,且基体内部仍含有少量Ω相和S相,但没有发现Mg2Si相。2号样品析出相包括θ′相、S相、σ相和β″相,针状θ′相明显减少,块状σ相明显增加。3号样品中析出相基本为S相。
由时效18 h和600 h后的结果可以发现:一方面,高Mg含量合金会脱离原本的时效序列,出现具有特殊结构的Al-Cu相;另一方面,Si的存在明显抑制了Ω相的析出,在Si含量较高的2号与3号样品中,均未发现Ω相。观察1号样品和2号样品组织可以发现,添加Si后析出相数量显著降低且针状相变短,块状相增加。在含Si的合金中,提高Mg/Si比并不会析出更多块状相或Ω相,而是析出S相。对比观察1、2、3号合金样品后可以发现,Mg含量较低的2号样品内存在β″相这种6系Al合金中常见的强化相,而在Mg含量较高的3号样品中反而没有发现。
观察3种样品在200 ℃下时效18 h与600 h后的硬度可以发现,2号样品过时效后的硬度下降幅度最小,抗过时效能力优异。TEM结果表明,2号样品中没有Ω相,且析出相含量低于3号样品。2号样品性能优异的原因可能是基体中析出了多种析出相,由SEM结果可知,基体中的θ相在较长时间时效后依然保持较小的尺寸且其周围存在大量细小弥散的析出相,二者的协同作用为合金提供了良好的强化效果。
由此可得,Si和Mg含量均会影响合金析出相的析出序列。Mg含量较低的含Si合金(2号样品)中存在大量弥散的第二相,其为合金提供了良好的强化效果,使得合金在长时间时效后仍能保持较高的硬度。在Mg含量大幅增加后,合金中出现大量S相,也能为合金提供良好的强化效果。
1)低Si低Mg合金中的析出相主要为θ相和Ω相;低Mg高Si合金中的析出相主要为θ′相、S相和σ相;高Mg高Si合金中的析出相主要为S相。
2)Si和Mg元素均极大地改变了合金的析出序列。添加Si明显抑制了Ω相的析出,而Mg含量的大幅提升则促进了S相的析出。
3)Mg含量0.8%的合金中析出了大量弥散分布的第二相,使其在时效600 h后具有极高的硬度。
