Marmatite was calcined and then used as photocatalyst to degrade organic dye methylene blue (MB) under ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation. The degradation mechanism of this photocatalyst was investigated by using UV-Visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS) and performing free radical capture experiments. It is found that the marmatite calcined at 660 ℃ exhibits a great photocatalytic property, with the degradation rate of MB up to 98.46% within 240 min. In the calcined marmatite products, the ternary heterojunction is more conducive to the effective separation of photogenerated charge carriers than the binary heterojunction, thus leading to an improved photocatalytic performance.

采用煅烧法合成了铁闪锌矿改性产物,以其为光催化剂,在紫外光照射下降解有机染料亚甲基蓝,并通过紫外-可见漫反射光谱和自由基捕获实验研究该光催化剂的降解机理。结果表明,660 ℃煅烧的铁闪锌矿样品具有良好的光催化性能,在240 min内对亚甲基蓝的降解率达到98.46%。铁闪锌矿煅烧产物中,三元异质结比二元异质结更有利于光生载流子的有效分离,提升光催化性能。

采用煅烧法合成了铁闪锌矿改性产物,以其为光催化剂,在紫外光照射下降解有机染料亚甲基蓝,并通过紫外-可见漫反射光谱和自由基捕获实验研究该光催化剂的降解机理。结果表明,660 ℃煅烧的铁闪锌矿样品具有良好的光催化性能,在240 min内对亚甲基蓝的降解率达到98.46%。铁闪锌矿煅烧产物中,三元异质结比二元异质结更有利于光生载流子的有效分离,提升光催化性能。

Marmatite was calcined and then used as photocatalyst to degrade organic dye methylene blue (MB) under ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation. The degradation mechanism of this photocatalyst was investigated by using UV-Visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS) and performing free radical capture experiments. It is found that the marmatite calcined at 660 ℃ exhibits a great photocatalytic property, with the degradation rate of MB up to 98.46% within 240 min. In the calcined marmatite products, the ternary heterojunction is more conducive to the effective separation of photogenerated charge carriers than the binary heterojunction, thus leading to an improved photocatalytic performance.

由于矿物材料在环保性能和性价比等方面的优势,环境矿物材料的研究与应用已成为矿物材料学很重要的方向之一[1]。铁闪锌矿中含有大量杂质元素,尤其是其中的Fe2+掺杂,使铁闪锌矿的理论禁带宽度下降[2];同时天然铁闪锌矿本身的疏水性致使其与降解物分子接触不充分,制约了天然铁闪锌矿潜在的光催化活性[2]。煅烧法可以改变天然矿物物相组成和表面结构,从而提高其光催化降解能力。本文通过煅烧法制备具有不同物相组成的铁闪锌矿煅烧产物,通过降解亚甲基蓝测定铁闪锌矿及其煅烧产物的光催化降解性能,并通过紫外-可见漫反射光谱和自由基捕获实验阐明降解机理。
铁闪锌矿样品来自内蒙古某矿,外观为黑色。电子探针测得其化学成分如表1所示。
实验所用化学试剂包括溴化钾、对苯醌、无水乙醇、叔丁醇、亚甲基蓝和乙二胺四乙酸二钠,均为分析纯试剂。
将铁闪锌矿在玛瑙研钵中研磨至5 μm。分别取3 g研磨后的铁闪锌矿样品放于瓷舟中,转入马弗炉中煅烧,煅烧温度分别为660 ℃和1 200 ℃,升温速率为10 ℃/min,保温时间为3 h。
采用EMPA-1720H电子探针确定原料化学成分。使用STA449C热分析仪测定样品升温过程的热重-差热曲线(TG-DSC)。通过TD-3500 X射线衍射仪(XRD)表征样品晶相结构,并用Jade 6软件结合PDF4+数据库对XRD图谱中的晶相进行识别。利用MIRA3扫描电镜(SEM)观察样品微观形貌。采用TENSORⅡ红外光谱仪(FTIR)识别样品中的化学键及基团。使用Evolution 220紫外-可见分光光度计测量样品紫外-可见漫反射光谱(UV-Vis)和液体样品的吸光度。
通过催化降解亚甲基蓝测试材料的光催化性能,操作过程如下:称取25 mg铁闪锌矿或其煅烧产物加入50 mL质量浓度10 mg/L的亚甲基蓝溶液中;在无光照环境下吸附并搅拌,每隔30 min取2 mL悬浮液,测定664 nm处的吸光度,直至吸光度不发生变化,表明达到了吸附-解吸平衡。平衡后打开光源(30 W紫外灯),将混合溶液在光照下持续搅拌,每隔30 min取2 mL悬浮液,离心分离悬浮液中的粉末样品,测定664 nm处的吸光度。
图1为铁闪锌矿的TG-DSC图谱。DSC曲线出现一窄一宽的2个吸热峰:520~600 ℃的吸热峰归因于Zn3O(SO42的生成与SO2气体的释放,700~800 ℃的吸热峰是由于(Zn,Fe)S和Zn3O(SO42转变成了ZnO和ZnFe2O4并释放了O2和SO2气体。TG曲线显示,整个煅烧过程中质量损失为15.87%。520 ℃之前,主要是矿物表面吸收的水分蒸发,质量损失较小(1.15%)。520~800 ℃范围内,出现了明显的质量损失,在此过程中(Zn,Fe)S不断氧化并放出SO2气体,最终生成ZnFe2O4和ZnO,而Zn3O(SO42为中间产物。天然铁闪锌矿从室温煅烧至1 200 ℃过程中的物相变化为:室温~520 ℃,物相为(Zn,Fe)S;520~750 ℃,物相为(Zn,Fe)S、Zn3O(SO42、ZnFe2O4、ZnO;750~1 200 ℃,物相为ZnFe2O4、ZnO。520~750 ℃范围内,由于Zn3O(SO42不是半导体,该体系的光催化性能与Zn3O(SO42含量有关;660 ℃煅烧产物中铁闪锌矿、ZnO和ZnFe2O4的质量比约1∶3∶5,体系内存在(Zn,Fe)S/ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结,其光催化降解性能好。煅烧至750 ℃后体系物相不再改变,随着温度升高,样品结晶度有所提高,催化效率逐渐升高[2]
铁闪锌矿及煅烧产物的XRD图谱如图2所示。铁闪锌矿中(Zn,Fe)S的衍射峰位于2θ=28.48°、33.02°、47.40°、56.24°、59.02°、69.28°、76.49°和79.08°处,分别对应于(111)、(200)、(220)、(311)、(222)、(400)、(331)和(420)晶面(PDF#01-073-6559)。铁闪锌矿XRD图谱中没有观察到杂质峰。660 ℃煅烧产物在2θ=22.6°、25.5°和26.6°处出现了新的衍射峰,与Zn3O(SO42的衍射峰匹配(PDF#01-073-9989),此外还出现了ZnFe2O4(PDF#01-070-6490)和ZnO(PDF#01-075-0591)。与铁闪锌矿曲线相比,(Zn,Fe)S的各衍射峰向高角度方向偏移,表明样品中可能存在(Zn,Fe)S/ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结。1 200 ℃煅烧产物已无(Zn,Fe)S衍射峰和Zn3O(SO42衍射峰。与660 ℃煅烧产物相比,1 200 ℃煅烧产物ZnO与ZnFe2O4衍射峰均有不同程度的偏移,证明ZnO和ZnFe2O4界面之间发生了反应,可能是ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结的作用。
图3为铁闪锌矿及煅烧产物的红外光谱图。铁闪锌矿曲线中,在1 141 cm-1处,由于CO2吸附在铁闪锌矿表面,产生了伸缩振动。羟基的拉伸和弯曲的吸收带分别位于3691和1 634 cm-1处,这是由于大气中的H2O吸附在铁闪锌矿样品表面[3]。914~1 020 cm-1的吸收带源自硫化物离子在铁闪锌矿中振动模式间的共振相互作用[4]。660 ℃煅烧产物中这一振动带发生了明显的蓝移,说明660 ℃煅烧产物中(Zn,Fe)S与新生成的ZnO和ZnFe2O4之间产生了新键[5]。660 ℃煅烧产物和1200 ℃煅烧产物中482~550 cm-1处的吸收带对应Zn—O键在四面体位置上的伸缩振动[6],432和623 cm-1处的特征带归因于Fe—O键的伸缩振动,分别属于八面体和四面体位点的吸收[7],而这两处峰位的偏移说明2种样品中均存在界面作用。结合XRD数据可知,660 ℃煅烧产物和1 200 ℃煅烧产物中分别存在(Zn,Fe)S/ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结和ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结。
图4为铁闪锌矿及煅烧产物的扫描电子显微镜图。研磨后的铁闪锌矿颗粒尺寸较小,粒径在5 μm以下。660 ℃煅烧后颗粒粒度增大,且出现了形貌差异很大的颗粒,说明体系内产生了新相[8-9]。1 200 ℃煅烧产物表面可观察到大量ZnO和ZnFe2O4的细小析出颗粒[10]
图5为铁闪锌矿及其煅烧产物对亚甲基蓝的光催化降解曲线。黑暗条件下所有样品在1 h内对亚甲基蓝的暗吸附均达到了吸附-解吸平衡,铁闪锌矿、660 ℃煅烧产物、1 200 ℃煅烧产物在240 min内对亚甲基蓝的降解率分别为19.6%、98.5%、80.6%。可以看出,660 ℃煅烧产物催化效率更高。
选取叔丁醇(TBA)、对苯醌(p-BQ)和乙二胺四乙酸二钠(EDTA-2Na)分别作为羟基自由基(·OH)、超氧自由基(·O2-)、光生空穴(h+)的捕获剂。自由基捕获实验的流程与光催化降解实验基本相同,在暗吸附结束时分别加入10 mmol的TBA、1 mmol的p-BQ和10 mmol的EDTA-2Na。自由基捕获剂对催化降解亚甲基蓝的影响如图6所示。与未加入捕获剂的空白对照组相比,加入TBA、p-BQ、EDTA-2Na后,660 ℃煅烧产物的催化降解率分别降至36.78%、46.12%和89.40%。可见在催化降解亚甲基蓝过程中,·O2-和·OH是重要的反应活性物质。
铁闪锌矿及其煅烧产物的紫外-可见漫反射光谱如图7所示。所有样品的吸收边缘约在420 nm,在紫外区表现较高的吸收。使用Kubelka-Munk公式[10]外推得到了3种样品的禁带宽度如图8所示。铁闪锌矿、660 ℃煅烧产物和1 200 ℃煅烧产物的禁带宽度分别为3.306、3.300和3.269 eV,均低于纯ZnS的禁带宽度(3.600 eV)。煅烧后铁闪锌矿的禁带宽度降低可能是其光催化效率较高的原因之一。
铁闪锌矿、1 200 ℃煅烧产物和660 ℃煅烧产物的光催化降解示意图见图9。在紫外光照射下,原始及煅烧铁闪锌矿在光子能量()等于或超过激发能量(Eg)的光照下发生光诱导过程。这些光激发电子可与O2反应生成·O2-,而光激发空穴可与H2O/OH-反应生成·OH自由基。在光催化降解过程中,形成的·OH、·O2-和空穴可将MB降解为CO2、H2O和其他降解产物;此外,光激发电子还可将Fe3+还原成Fe2+,进一步促进氧化还原过程[11]。660 ℃煅烧产物和1 200 ℃煅烧产物中分别存在(Zn,Fe)S/ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结和ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结。这三者光催化降解效率的差异表明,(Zn,Fe)S/ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结和ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结均能增强光催化降解性能。这将提供更多的活性位点来捕获电子或空穴,从而改善光催化性能。(Zn,Fe)S/ZnO/ZnFe2O4异质结可更高效确保光激发载流子的有效分离。
研究了铁闪锌矿在高温下的相变过程,采用相同的加热速率(10 ℃/min),在不同温度下对铁闪锌矿进行高温热处理,制备了不同物相组成的铁闪锌矿煅烧产物。铁闪锌矿煅烧后其禁带宽度一定程度降低,光催化性能得以提升,240 min内,铁闪锌矿、660 ℃煅烧产物和1 200 ℃煅烧产物对亚甲基蓝的降解率分别为19.6%、98.5%和80.6%。通过自由基捕获实验发现亚甲基蓝的降解中·O2-和·OH是重要的反应活性物质。铁闪锌矿煅烧产物中,三元异质结比二元异质结更有利于光生载流子的有效分离,提升光催化性能。
