The occurrence state of iron minerals in a kind of kaolin ore in Guangdong is relatively complex. A portion of iron minerals is irremovable as they disseminate in the lattice of kaolinite, illite and other minerals in an isomorphic manner. For this reason, the calcined kaolin concentrate possesses a lower whiteness than the natural whiteness. In order to efficiently exploit and utilize the kaolin ore, a process consisting of slurry tamping, spiral classifier classification and hydrocyclone classification was adopted, resulting in a kaolin concentrate grading 30.02% Al2O3 at 61.70% recovery with the content of impurity Fe2O3 at 1.15%, which can reach grade III standard of kaolin for ceramic industry. The classification downflow was then subjected to a process consisting of grinding, magnetic separation and hydrocyclone classification, resulting in a quartz sand concentrate and a sericite concentrate. The quartz sand concentrate, containing 97.11% SiO2 and 0.058% Fe2O3, can satisfy the standard for low quality quartz for glass industry, and the sericite concentrate, containing 7.07% K2O, 31.22% Al2O3 and 48.32% SiO2, with natural whiteness at 65.53%, can be used in the coating industry. The magnetic separation results in the tailings with a yield of 8.41% and SiO2 content of 76.33%, which can be used as auxiliary materials for building sand. Through this process, different minerals can be effectively separated to achieve the purpose of comprehensive utilization of kaolin ore.

广东某高岭土矿中铁赋存状态较复杂,部分铁以类质同象方式存在于高岭石、伊利石等矿物晶格中无法去除,造成高岭土精矿烧成白度较自然白度低。为了高效开发利用该高岭土矿,开发了捣浆-螺旋分级机分级-旋流器分级工艺,可获得Al2O3品位30.02%、回收率61.70%的高岭土精矿,其中杂质Fe2O3含量为1.15%,达到陶瓷工业用高岭土三级品标准;分级尾砂经磨矿-磁选-旋流器分级工艺,可获得SiO2含量97.11%、Fe2O3含量0.058%的石英砂精矿和K2O含量7.07%、Al2O3含量31.22%、SiO2含量48.32%、自然白度65.53%的绢云母精矿;石英砂精矿达到玻璃工业用低档石英砂质量标准;绢云母精矿可用于涂料行业;磁选尾矿产率8.41%、SiO2含量76.33%,可用作建筑用砂辅料。该工艺实现了不同矿物的有效分离,达到高岭土矿综合利用的目的。

广东某高岭土矿中铁赋存状态较复杂,部分铁以类质同象方式存在于高岭石、伊利石等矿物晶格中无法去除,造成高岭土精矿烧成白度较自然白度低。为了高效开发利用该高岭土矿,开发了捣浆-螺旋分级机分级-旋流器分级工艺,可获得Al2O3品位30.02%、回收率61.70%的高岭土精矿,其中杂质Fe2O3含量为1.15%,达到陶瓷工业用高岭土三级品标准;分级尾砂经磨矿-磁选-旋流器分级工艺,可获得SiO2含量97.11%、Fe2O3含量0.058%的石英砂精矿和K2O含量7.07%、Al2O3含量31.22%、SiO2含量48.32%、自然白度65.53%的绢云母精矿;石英砂精矿达到玻璃工业用低档石英砂质量标准;绢云母精矿可用于涂料行业;磁选尾矿产率8.41%、SiO2含量76.33%,可用作建筑用砂辅料。该工艺实现了不同矿物的有效分离,达到高岭土矿综合利用的目的。

The occurrence state of iron minerals in a kind of kaolin ore in Guangdong is relatively complex. A portion of iron minerals is irremovable as they disseminate in the lattice of kaolinite, illite and other minerals in an isomorphic manner. For this reason, the calcined kaolin concentrate possesses a lower whiteness than the natural whiteness. In order to efficiently exploit and utilize the kaolin ore, a process consisting of slurry tamping, spiral classifier classification and hydrocyclone classification was adopted, resulting in a kaolin concentrate grading 30.02% Al2O3 at 61.70% recovery with the content of impurity Fe2O3 at 1.15%, which can reach grade III standard of kaolin for ceramic industry. The classification downflow was then subjected to a process consisting of grinding, magnetic separation and hydrocyclone classification, resulting in a quartz sand concentrate and a sericite concentrate. The quartz sand concentrate, containing 97.11% SiO2 and 0.058% Fe2O3, can satisfy the standard for low quality quartz for glass industry, and the sericite concentrate, containing 7.07% K2O, 31.22% Al2O3 and 48.32% SiO2, with natural whiteness at 65.53%, can be used in the coating industry. The magnetic separation results in the tailings with a yield of 8.41% and SiO2 content of 76.33%, which can be used as auxiliary materials for building sand. Through this process, different minerals can be effectively separated to achieve the purpose of comprehensive utilization of kaolin ore.

高岭土矿是以高岭石及高岭石族矿物为主要成分的黏土矿物,是一种重要的非金属矿产资源,广泛应用于陶瓷、橡胶、造纸、塑料和耐火材料等行业[1-5]。随着高岭土资源日渐枯竭以及绿色矿山建设的持续推进,高效开发与综合利用现有高岭土矿、建设无尾矿绿色矿山,成为高岭土资源开发利用的发展方向[6-9]
本文以广东某高岭土矿为研究对象,通过研究其物质组成及各元素赋存状态,并针对矿物在不同粒级的分布特征,确定采用捣浆-螺旋分级机分级-旋流器分级工艺得到高岭土精矿和分级尾砂,并对分级尾砂进行磨矿-磁选-旋流器分级得到石英砂精矿和绢云母精矿,达到高岭土矿综合利用的目的。
广东某高岭土原矿呈块状、土状,主要矿物成分为石英,其次为高岭石、伊利石、绢云母。铁、钛杂质矿物主要为褐铁矿、钛铁矿、金红石等。原矿化学多元素分析结果见表1,原矿筛分及各粒级矿物组成结果见表2
表2可知,高岭石和伊利石集中在-0.045 mm粒级中,+0.045 mm各粒级主要含石英、绢云母和少量高温透长石。矿石中石英晶粒粗细变化大,在-0.045 mm各粒级中仍含大量石英,以至于这些粒级中游离二氧化硅含量高,影响高岭土产品的质量。
该高岭土矿中,氧化铝主要赋存于高岭石、伊利石和绢云母中。矿石中铁较分散,以Fe2O3计,褐铁矿中赋存的铁占原矿总铁的8.76%,绢云母中赋存的铁占原矿总铁29.92%,高岭石中赋存的铁占原矿总铁37.62%,伊利石中赋存的铁占原矿总铁15.95%,此外,因胶态褐铁矿渲染,石英、高温透长石中也含少量铁。钛矿物有钛铁矿和金红石,两矿物赋存的钛分别占原矿总钛17.79%和5.38%,分散于绢云母和伊利石中钛分别占原矿总钛9.38%和67.45%。
该高岭石矿风化较好,高岭石和伊利石集中在-0.045 mm粒级中,与其共生的矿物以石英为主,石英与高岭石不连成一体,经捣浆可使高岭石与石英分散,利用高岭土和石英密度以及颗粒直径的差异,通过重选法分级可分离矿物[10-12]。由于原矿含Fe2O3较高,需对分级产品进行除铁[13],以便获得高质量高岭土产品。因此,拟针对该高岭石进行捣浆-分级处理,分级精矿除铁、分级尾砂再选。
捣浆-分级试验采用TJT实验室用调浆桶进行捣浆,采用沉没式150×1200螺旋分级机进行分级,采用Φ50水力旋流器进行旋流器粗选和扫选,采用Φ25水力旋流器进行旋流器精选,旋流器压力0.35 MPa,试验流程见图1,结果见表3
表3可知,采用捣浆-螺旋分级机分级-旋流器分级(一粗一扫一精)工艺,获得了Al2O3品位33.75%、Fe2O3含量1.32%的分级精矿1,该产品含铁较高,对其进行除铁,可得到高品质的高岭土精矿;同时,尾砂1和尾砂2的SiO2含量均在83%以上,可以考虑对其进一步提纯以获得高品质石英砂原料。
在给矿浓度12%、PL用量1 000 g/t、H2SO4用量6 000 g/t、Na2S2O4用量30 kg/t、漂白时间20 min条件下,对分级精矿1进行了化学还原漂白除铁试验,结果见表4。分级精矿1经化学还原漂白除铁,Fe2O3含量降至1.05%,获得了产率15.58%、Al2O3品位33.57%、Al2O3回收率33.59%的漂白精矿。分级精矿1自然白度64.30%,1 200 ℃煅烧白度降至59.30%,漂白精矿自然白度81.40%,1 200 ℃煅烧白度降至70.60%。
分级精矿经化学漂白获得的漂白精矿质量仅达到陶瓷工业用高岭土二级标准,采用酸浸除铁方法只能除去褐铁矿铁染的铁,无法去除矿物晶格中的铁,造成高岭土精矿烧成白度较自然白度低,除铁效果未达预期,且化学还原漂白药剂用量较大,药剂成本较高,生产过程中存在一定安全环保隐患。因此,分级精矿1不宜进行化学还原漂白,可与分级精矿2合并得到最终高岭土精矿,即原矿经捣浆-螺旋分级机分级-旋流器分级(一粗一扫)工艺处理,获得了产率32.00%、Al2O3品位30.02%、回收率61.70%的高岭土精矿,其中Fe2O3含量1.15%,质量达到陶瓷工业用高岭土三级标准。
分级尾砂(尾砂1+尾砂2)中主要成分为石英和绢云母,两者紧密连生,呈微细粒状集合体,在强力搅拌下较难分散,可利用绢云母和石英硬度及粉碎性质的差异,通过磨矿将石英和绢云母单体解离后再重选分离[12-15]。试验流程见图2,采用高梯度磁选机进行强磁选,以钢毛为磁选介质,采用Φ50水力旋流器进行重选粗选和扫选,旋流器压力0.35 MPa,试验结果见表5。由表5可知,分级尾砂经磨矿-磁选-旋流器分级得到石英砂精矿和绢云母精矿;石英砂精矿SiO2含量97.11%、Fe2O3含量0.058%;绢云母精矿K2O含量7.07%、Al2O3含量31.22%、SiO2含量48.32%,自然白度65.53%;磁选尾矿产率8.41%、SiO2含量76.33%。石英砂精矿达到玻璃工业用低档石英砂质量标准;绢云母精矿可用于涂料行业;磁选尾矿可用作建筑用砂辅料。
综上所述,采用捣浆-螺旋分级机分级-旋流器分级+磨矿-磁选-旋流器分级工艺,可以得到合格高岭土精矿、石英砂精矿和绢云母精矿,工艺流程见图3
1)矿石中铁赋存较复杂,独立铁矿物褐铁矿可采用强磁选去除,但绢云母和伊利石在含铁高时可进入强磁选产品,导致强磁选除铁效果不理想。此外,由于铁以类质同象方式进入伊利石、绢云母晶格,采用酸浸除铁方法只能除去褐铁矿铁染的铁,无法去除矿物晶格中铁,造成高岭土精矿烧成白度较自然白度低,该高岭土矿不宜采用化学还原漂白法除铁提纯。
2)原矿通过“捣浆-螺旋分级机分级-旋流器分级”工艺获得高岭土精矿和分级尾砂:高岭土精矿Al2O3品位30.02%、回收率61.70%、Fe2O3含量1.15%,达到陶瓷工业用高岭土三级品标准;分级尾砂经“磨矿-磁选-旋流器分级”工艺得到石英砂精矿、绢云母精矿和磁选尾矿,石英砂精矿含SiO297.11%、Fe2O30.058%,达到玻璃工业用低档石英砂质量标准;绢云母精矿含K2O 7.07%、Al2O331.22%、SiO248.32%,自然白度65.53%,可用于涂料行业;磁选尾矿产率8.41%、SiO2含量76.33%,可用作建筑用砂辅料。
3)通过“捣浆-螺旋分级机分级-旋流器分级”+“磨矿-磁选-旋流器分级”工艺,可以得到合格高岭土精矿、石英砂精矿和绢云母精矿,实现了不同矿物的有效分离,达到高岭土矿综合利用的目的。
