The effects of brightening agent, such as polysodium dithiodipropanesulfonate (SPS) and sodium 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonate (MPS), on electrodeposition of Cu from electrolyte with Cu2+, H2SO4, Cl- concentration of 85 g/L, 100 g/L and 20 mg/L respectively were studied by adopting linear scanning voltammetry and cyclic voltammetric stripping (CVS), and the effects of SPS and MPS on the tensile strength, elongation, glossiness and roughness of electrolytic copper foil for Li-ion batteries were discussed. The results show that SPS and MPS can promote copper electrodeposition, and also SPS is better than MPS in promotion. However, the compounding with collagen and hydroxyethylcellulose will result in less promotion of copper electrodeposition. In addition, SPS is conducive to improving the tensile strength of copper foil, and MPS is conducive to improving the elongation of copper foil. With concentration of SPS and MPS at 1 mg/L and 1.5 mg/L respectively, the prepared copper foil has flat and dense surface, with better glossiness and roughness.

采用线性扫描伏安法和循环伏安剥离法研究了Cu2+、H2SO4、Cl-浓度分别为85 g/L、100 g/L、2 mg/L的电解液中添加光亮剂聚二硫二丙烷磺酸钠(SPS)和3-巯基-1-丙磺酸钠(MPS)对铜电沉积的影响,并研究了SPS和MPS对锂电铜箔抗拉强度、延伸率、光泽度及粗糙度的影响。结果表明,SPS和MPS对铜电沉积具有促进作用,且SPS的促进作用更强;SPS和MPS分别与胶原蛋白和羟乙基纤维素复配后,对铜电沉积的促进作用减弱;SPS更有利于提高铜箔抗拉强度,MPS更有利于提升铜箔延伸率;SPS浓度1.0 mg/L、MPS浓度1.5 mg/L时,铜箔毛面光泽度和粗糙度均较好,铜箔表面平整且致密。

The effects of brightening agent, such as polysodium dithiodipropanesulfonate (SPS) and sodium 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonate (MPS), on electrodeposition of Cu from electrolyte with Cu2+, H2SO4, Cl- concentration of 85 g/L, 100 g/L and 20 mg/L respectively were studied by adopting linear scanning voltammetry and cyclic voltammetric stripping (CVS), and the effects of SPS and MPS on the tensile strength, elongation, glossiness and roughness of electrolytic copper foil for Li-ion batteries were discussed. The results show that SPS and MPS can promote copper electrodeposition, and also SPS is better than MPS in promotion. However, the compounding with collagen and hydroxyethylcellulose will result in less promotion of copper electrodeposition. In addition, SPS is conducive to improving the tensile strength of copper foil, and MPS is conducive to improving the elongation of copper foil. With concentration of SPS and MPS at 1 mg/L and 1.5 mg/L respectively, the prepared copper foil has flat and dense surface, with better glossiness and roughness.

近年来,在世界各国“双碳”目标的强力驱动下,新能源汽车产业快速发展,动力锂电池市场需求持续高速增长。铜箔是锂离子电池的核心原材料,它直接影响锂离子电池的制备[1-2]。根据文献报道,添加剂种类直接影响铜箔的各项性能,其中光亮剂能有效改善镀层光亮性,与氯离子或其他添加剂协同作用时,能细化晶粒,得到平整光滑的镀层,对提升铜箔性能具有重要作用[3-7]
聚二硫二丙烷磺酸钠(SPS)和3-巯基-1-丙磺酸钠(MPS)作为铜箔光亮剂受到国内外科研工作者的广泛关注[8-10]。从结构上看,SPS为MPS的二聚体,二者具有相同的作用机理[11]。本文研究了不同浓度SPS和MPS对铜电沉积的影响,并在与生产线基本一致的实验系统上试产锂电铜箔,研究其对铜箔性能的影响。
实验试剂包括洛阳市化学试剂厂的五水硫酸铜、盐酸、浓硫酸,上海阿拉丁生化科技股份有限公司的SPS、MPS、羟乙基纤维素(HEC)、胶原蛋白,所有试剂均为分析纯。实验用水为自制高纯水。
采用三电极体系,以3 mm铜线为工作电极、铂丝为辅助电极、饱和Hg/HgO电极为参比电极,测试初始电位和终止电位分别为0.09 V和-0.5 V,保护电流范围为10 nA~1 A,扫描速率0.05 V/s。电解液中Cu2+、H2SO4、Cl-浓度分别为85 g/L、100 g/L、20 mg/L。在电解液中添加不同浓度MPS和SPS,电解液温度50 ℃,测试极化曲线。
通过CVS分析仪的加液器将各添加剂加入Cu2+、H2SO4、Cl-浓度分别为85 g/L、100 g/L、20 mg/L的电解液中,采用三电极体系,其中辅助电极为铂网、参比电极为饱和甘汞电极、工作电极为旋转圆盘电极,测试初始电位和终止电位分别为1.6 V和-0.2 V,扫描速率0.05 V/s,转速2 500 r/min,温度50 ℃,进行循环伏安剥离法测试。
在与生产线基本一致的实验系统上试产锂电铜箔,具体制备工艺见图1。工艺参数为:Cu2+浓度85 g/L,H2SO4浓度100 g/L,Cl-浓度20±5 mg/L,胶原蛋白浓度5 mg/L,HEC浓度2 mg/L,MPS及SPS浓度0~2.5 mg/L,温度50 ℃,电流密度0.6 A/cm2
采用AGS-X型万能拉伸试验机,将试产锂电铜箔切成152 mm×12.7 mm长条,放置在拉伸试验机夹具中,夹头标距50 mm,拉伸速度50.00 mm/min,夹头夹紧后,启动拉伸试验机,测试铜箔抗拉强度和延伸率,同一试验条件下所得样品测试3次,取平均值。将铜箔放于平坦的玻璃桌面上,采用SJ310型表面粗糙度仪测量铜箔毛面粗糙度,每个点测量3次,取平均值;将铜箔放在平坦的玻璃桌面上,采用MG6-SM型光泽度测试仪测量铜箔光泽度,每个点测量3次,取平均值。将铜箔样品制作为1 cm×1 cm试样,采用TM3030型扫描电子显微镜分析铜箔毛面表观形貌。
不同浓度SPS和MPS的极化曲线见图2。电势-0.1 V时,两种添加剂的电流均发生明显变化,此时铜开始沉积。随着SPS和MPS浓度增加,沉积电位正移,表现为去极化作用。SPS浓度0.5 mg/L时,去极化作用显著增强。MPS浓度0.5 mg/L时,去极化作用不明显;随着MPS浓度从1.0 mg/L增至1.5 mg/L,去极化作用显著增强;MPS浓度继续增加,去极化作用减小,这是因为MPS会在溶液中与亚铜离子形成络合物并吸附在电极表面,溶液中存在氯离子时,其可作为氯桥加速电子传导,从而去极化;MPS浓度继续增大,电极表面活化位点有限,导致MPS与亚铜离子互为竞争关系[12]
综上,MPS对铜电沉积的去极化作用强于SPS。由文献[5]可知,去极化作用越强,铜沉积越快,不利于细化铜箔晶粒。
HEC浓度2.0 mg/L、胶原蛋白浓度5.0 mg/L时,SPS、MPS、SPS+HEC+胶原蛋白和MPS+HEC+胶原蛋白条件下测试电量值(Q测试液)与基准液电量值(Q基准液)的比值见图3。比值大于1,表现为促进铜沉积;比值小于1,表现为抑制铜沉积。总体来看,MPS与SPS均表现为促进作用,且SPS对铜电沉积的促进作用明显优于MPS。使用单一添加剂时,随着添加剂浓度增加,两种添加剂对铜沉积的促进作用均增强,SPS浓度超过2.5 mg/L、MPS浓度超过3.0 mg/L后,添加剂对铜沉积的促进作用趋于平稳。SPS与HEC+胶原蛋白溶液混合后,对铜沉积的促进能力明显减弱;SPS浓度超过4.0 mg/L后,比值不再受浓度变化影响。MPS与HEC+胶原蛋白溶液混合后,对铜沉积的作用呈先抑制后促进的趋势,MPS浓度2.0 mg/L时,比值大于1;继续增加MPS浓度,对铜沉积的促进作用无明显变化。值得注意的是,MPS浓度0.5~2.0 mg/L时对铜沉积表现为抑制作用,这可能是胶原蛋白和HEC具有较强的抑制作用。
由此可得,SPS和MPS对铜沉积表现为促进作用,其与HEC+胶原蛋白溶液复配后,促进作用减弱。
SPS和MPS浓度对铜箔抗拉强度和延伸率的影响见图4。由图4可知,随着SPS和MPS浓度增加,抗拉强度和延伸率均呈先增加后减小的趋势。添加剂浓度0.5~1.5 mg/L时,SPS处理的铜箔抗拉强度优于MPS;在实验浓度范围内,MPS处理的铜箔延伸率均高于SPS。由此可得,添加适量SPS和MPS均能不同程度地增大铜箔的抗拉强度和延伸率,SPS更有利于提升铜箔抗拉强度,MPS更有利于提升铜箔延伸率。
SPS及MPS浓度对铜箔毛面光泽度和粗糙度的影响分别见图5图6。随着两种添加剂浓度增加,铜箔光泽度均显著提高后缓慢下降,这是由于毛面光泽度受胶原蛋白和光亮剂MPS及SPS的共同影响[13]。电解液体系中SPS和MPS浓度增大至无法与胶原蛋白平衡时,光泽度下降。随着两种添加剂浓度增加,铜箔毛面粗糙度先降低后上升,SPS浓度1.0 mg/L、MPS浓度1.5 mg/L时粗糙度分别降至0.845 μm、0.865 μm。综上,SPS浓度1.0 mg/L、MPS浓度1.5 mg/L时,铜箔毛面光泽度和粗糙度较好。
不同添加剂浓度下试产锂电铜箔的表面形貌如图7所示。由图7可知,添加剂浓度0.5 mg/L时,铜箔表面有明显凹坑;随着浓度增加,铜箔表面逐渐光滑,SPS浓度1.0 mg/L、MPS浓度1.5 mg/L时,铜箔表面平整。继续增大浓度,SPS浓度2.5 mg/L时,铜箔表面逐渐出现凹坑,致密性较差;MPS浓度2.5 mg/L时,铜箔中出现凸起颗粒。
综上,SPS浓度1.0 mg/L、MPS浓度1.5 mg/L时,铜箔表面平整且致密性较好。
1)SPS和MPS均能促进铜沉积,且SPS的促进作用更强,与2.0 mg/L HEC和5.0 mg/L胶原蛋白溶液复配后,SPS及MPS的促进效果减弱。
2)适量添加SPS和MPS均能不同程度提高铜箔抗拉强度和延伸率,SPS更有利于提升铜箔抗拉强度,MPS更有利于提升延伸率。
3)SPS浓度1.0 mg/L、MPS浓度1.5 mg/L时,铜箔致密性高且其毛面光泽度和粗糙度较好。
