Theoretical calculation was made for the flow field in the hydraulic transportation with deep-sea polymetallic nodule collector, and the relationship between particle size of polymetallic nodules and minimum conveying speed was obtained. The distribution of flow pattern in the conveying channel was simulated with the jet velocity of nozzle at 15 m/s, 20 m/s and 25 m/s respectively, and rate of the flow at 30 mm away from the lower surface of the channel was measured. A laboratory test was conducted for nodules pick-up by using a collector with different jet velocities of nozzles, and it is found that the obtained results are consistent with the theoretical calculation and simulation results.

对深海多金属结核集矿装置水力输送流场进行了理论计算,得到了多金属结核粒径与输送通道最小输送速度的关系;仿真分析了喷嘴射流速度分别为15、20、25 m/s时输送通道内水流流态分布,给出了流道下表面30 mm处的流速。在实验室进行了输送喷嘴不同射流速度的采集试验,实验结果与理论计算及仿真分析结果相符。

Theoretical calculation was made for the flow field in the hydraulic transportation with deep-sea polymetallic nodule collector, and the relationship between particle size of polymetallic nodules and minimum conveying speed was obtained. The distribution of flow pattern in the conveying channel was simulated with the jet velocity of nozzle at 15 m/s, 20 m/s and 25 m/s respectively, and rate of the flow at 30 mm away from the lower surface of the channel was measured. A laboratory test was conducted for nodules pick-up by using a collector with different jet velocities of nozzles, and it is found that the obtained results are consistent with the theoretical calculation and simulation results.

深海多金属结核赋存于5 000~6 000 m水深的大洋极稀软沉积物表面,富含锰、镍、钴等多种金属,极具商业开采前景,是国内外深海矿产资源开发研究的热点[1-2]。开发深海多金属结核资源对我国国民经济可持续发展具有深远的战略意义。
深海多金属结核集矿装置用于采集海底沉积物表面的多金属结核,国内外学者从不同方面对集矿装置开展了研究[3-7],取得了诸多研究成果,但目前对于集矿装置水力输送通道内的流场研究较少。本文对集矿装置水力输送流场进行理论计算与仿真分析,并通过实验室实验对理论计算与仿真分析结果进行验证,互相促进。
复合采集装置集矿原理如图1所示。复合采集装置主要由滚筒、输送喷嘴、输送通道等部分组成。滚筒主要用于松动并挑出底质上的结核,它沿圆周方向分布有若干列挑齿,每列挑齿沿滚筒轴向等间距分布。输送喷嘴主要用于提供压力射流,为结核在输送通道内的传输提供动力。复合采集装置安装于采矿车前部。采集作业时,首先开启输送喷嘴,然后开启滚筒,并调节滚筒挑齿的入泥深度,随后开启采矿车。旋转滚筒的挑齿使海底稀软底质上的结核松动并挑出,结核随旋转滚筒举升到输送通道入口。从输送喷嘴射出的高速水流带动输送通道内的水流动,并在输送通道入口形成一定负压,在负压作用下,输送通道入口处的结核被吸入输送通道内,输送通道内水流携带结核一起向上移动,从出料口落下。
水中结核自由沉降速度Wt计算公式为[8]
式中g为重力加速度,g=9.8 m/s2d为结核粒径,mm;Cd为结核沉降阻力系数,根据试验,人工模拟结核Cd=0.43;ρs为人工模拟结核的湿密度,根据试验,ρs=2.144 kg/L;ρw为水的密度,ρw=1 kg/L。
由式(1)可看出,Wt正比于d
集矿装置输送通道为倾斜45°的坡面,结核沉降速度Wt沿输送通道斜面的分速度为Vt,计算公式为:
输送速度Vs>Vt时,相应粒径的结核才能沿输送通道向上滚动,通过式(1)与式(2)可以得出不同粒径的结核所对应的沉降速度以及最小输送速度,结果见表1
表1可知,集矿装置的最小输送速度随结核粒径增大而增加。结核粒径60 mm时所需的最小输送速度为1.02 m/s。
通过建立集矿装置虚拟模型样机,并设置集矿装置输送喷嘴的喷射流速参数(分别为15、20与25 m/s)进行仿真,结果如图2所示。
图2可看出,水流从输送喷嘴射出后,由于扩散衰减等作用,只能在非常短的距离里保持原流速。在射流向前行进过程中,射流流速下降的同时带动下层的水一起运动,而且越往前行进,带动的下层水越多,下层水流速越高,并且上层水与下层水的流速趋于一致。总的来说,下层水流速较低,尤其是在输送喷嘴附近的下层水,这是输送应该特别关注的地方。
采矿车采集结核过程中,结核进入输送流道后,在水流作用下沿输送流道后壁内表面向上移动。距输送通道下表面30 mm处提取水流速度,不同喷嘴流速下,沿输送方向的水流速度如图3所示。
图3可知,距流道下表面30 mm处,初始流速迅速下降,至0.16 m处降至最小,然后较缓慢上升,至流道拐弯处又快速上升,最后在出口处稍微下降。输送喷嘴射流速度15 m/s时,距流道下表面30 mm处流速最低为0.58 m/s,最小流速的保持区间为0.3 m;输送喷嘴射流速度20 m/s时,距流道下表面30 mm处流速最低为1.05 m/s,已超过粒径60 mm结核所需的最小输送速度(1.02 m/s);输送喷嘴射流速度25 m/s时,距流道下表面30 mm处流速最低为2.08 m/s。
实验室采集实验集矿装置如图4所示。升降机构利用升降油缸调节集矿装置整机以适应结核赋存表面的地形变化。液压控制组件主要由调速元件、换向元件、液压压力测量元件以及液压流量测量元件等组成,用于水泵驱动马达、滚筒驱动马达、升降油缸的旋转(伸缩)速度调节、液压压力及流量的测量。监测组件主要由水泵出口压力传感器、升降油缸位移传感器、输送流道出口流速传感器组成,用于测量水泵出口压力、调节集矿装置高度以及监测流道内的水流速度。整套装置搭载在水池移动平台上,通过移动平台来模拟采矿车的行驶。
集矿实验流程如图5所示。前期准备包括实验水池模拟底质地形处理、结核称重。将结核铺设在预定位置后向实验水池加水,一直加到满足实验要求的水位。通过液压控制组件设置水泵、滚筒、升降油缸的工作参数,启动相关执行元件,相关参数显示正常后开始采集实验。实验完成后放掉实验水池的水,称量采集到的结核,最后进行数据整理归纳。
实验参数为:结核丰度8 kg/m2,粒径20~60 mm,形状近似球形,铺撒在水池底质上。集矿装置滚筒转速80 r/min,移动平台前进速度0.5 m/s,采集宽度0.4 m,水泵马达排量12 mL/r。采集实验参数见表2
水泵马达转速与马达液压供油量成正比:
式中n为水泵马达转速,r/min;q为水泵马达供油量,L/min;s为水泵马达排量。
在一定转速条件下,根据水泵的出口压力可以从水泵的压力-流量特性曲线得到此转速及压力下的流量值,然后根据式(4)可计算集矿装置喷嘴内的流速:
式中Q为水泵流量,m3/s;A为输送喷嘴面积,m2V为输送喷嘴内的流速,m/s。
根据水池中铺设的结核量和实验过程中采集的结核量,可计算采集率:
式中η为集矿实验结核采集率;M为集矿实验采集到的结核量,kg;M为集矿实验铺设的结核量,kg。
由式(3)~(5)对实验数据进行整理,得到水泵转速与喷嘴流速的关系如图6所示,喷嘴流速与结核采集率的关系如图7所示。
图6可知,喷嘴流速随水泵转速增加而增加。由图7可知,结核采集率与喷嘴流速正相关,喷嘴流速增加,结核采集率增加。
1)理论计算结果表明,集矿装置输送通道需要的最小输送速度随结核粒径增大而增加,结核粒径从20 mm增大至100 mm,最小输送速度从0.59 m/s增加至1.32 m/s。
2)仿真分析结果表明,水流从输送喷嘴射出后,输送通道内上层水流速比下层水流速大,沿输送通道水流流速逐渐趋于一致。但在输送喷嘴附近的下层水流速低,结核输送过程应重点关注该位置。
3)不同输送喷嘴射流速度下距流道下表面30 mm处初始流速迅速下降,至0.16 m处降至最小,然后较缓慢上升,至流道拐弯处又较快上升,最后在出口处稍微下降。
4)实验室采集实验结果表明,集矿装置喷嘴流速与结核采集率正相关,随着喷嘴流速增加,结核采集率增加。实验结果很好地验证了理论计算与仿真分析结果。
