Mg-1%Al alloy plates were rolled at different strain rates, and the effects of rolling strain rate on microstructure, mechanical properties and damping properties of Mg-1%Al alloy were investigated. As rolling strain rate increases, the average grain size and recrystallization volume fraction of Mg-1%Al alloy increase, while the tensile strength, yield strength and texture strength decrease. As the rolling strain rate increases, the elongation decreases after an initial increase, reaching the highest (25.33%) at a strain rate of 20 s-1, and the damping performance at room temperature is also improved. The damping value is 0.061 with the strain amplitude of 0.1% at a strain rate of 30 s-1, which is 1.5 times of that at a strain rate of 15 s-1. At a certain strain rate, the damping performance decreases as strain frequency increases.

在不同应变速率下轧制Mg-1%Al合金板材,研究了轧制应变速率对Mg-1%Al合金显微组织、力学性能和阻尼性能的影响。随着轧制应变速率增加,Mg-1%Al合金的平均晶粒尺寸和再结晶体积分数增加;抗拉强度、屈服强度和织构强度减小;延伸率先升高后降低,在应变速率20 s-1时达到最高,为25.33%。随着应变速率增加,室温阻尼性能增加,应变速率30 s-1下应变振幅0.1%时阻尼值为0.061,是应变速率15 s-1时的1.5倍。应变速率一定时,阻尼性能随着频率增加而降低。

Mg-1%Al alloy plates were rolled at different strain rates, and the effects of rolling strain rate on microstructure, mechanical properties and damping properties of Mg-1%Al alloy were investigated. As rolling strain rate increases, the average grain size and recrystallization volume fraction of Mg-1%Al alloy increase, while the tensile strength, yield strength and texture strength decrease. As the rolling strain rate increases, the elongation decreases after an initial increase, reaching the highest (25.33%) at a strain rate of 20 s-1, and the damping performance at room temperature is also improved. The damping value is 0.061 with the strain amplitude of 0.1% at a strain rate of 30 s-1, which is 1.5 times of that at a strain rate of 15 s-1. At a certain strain rate, the damping performance decreases as strain frequency increases.

镁合金是一种很有前途的轻质结构金属材料,可用于电子产品、体育用品、汽车及飞机[1-3]。随着国防和民用工业的发展,机械设备的精度要求越来越高,自动化水平越来越强。结构合金具有高阻尼能力和高强度成为降低噪声和振动危害的关键要求[4]。镁合金特别是铸造镁合金作为一种低密度结构材料,具有良好的阻尼性能,在工业上具有广阔的应用前景。然而,大多数铸造镁合金表现出较差的机械性能和较低的使用温度[5]。此外,镁合金的阻尼性能和强度互相矛盾,即机械性能的增强往往导致阻尼性能的减弱,这极大地限制了镁合金的应用。因此,开发具有高强度和阻尼性能的镁合金非常重要。
Al在Mg中的极限固溶度为12.5%(质量分数,下同),在Mg中添加Al可以细化晶粒[6]。研究表明[7],Al含量小于1%时晶粒细化效果不明显,Al含量越高,Mg-Al合金晶粒越细小。晶粒细化对实现镁合金的优异性能至关重要,如提高硬度、强度、延展性和韧性。目前,主要采用轧制技术如累积轧制、等通道角轧制、不同速度轧制制得具有细小甚至超细晶粒及较弱织构的镁合金板材。然而,这些轧制工艺对设备要求高且加工时间成本高,严重限制了其商业应用。
高应变速率轧制是一种能获得高比例动态再结晶晶粒的有效加工技术[8-9],文献[10]研究了高应变率轧制Mg-Ga合金板的高塑性机理,研究结果表明高应变速率轧制变形产生的非基面位错为镁合金室温塑性变形提供了非基面位错源,使镁合金具有良好的延展性。由此可知,高应变速率轧制是制备高强度镁合金板材的良好的加工方法。目前,关于Mg-Al合金力学和阻尼性能的研究很少,力学性能和阻尼性能无法平衡限制了Mg-Al合金在实际生产中的应用。基于此,本文通过高应变速率轧制工艺制备高强高阻尼性能Mg-1%Al合金板材,使其更好地应用于工业领域。
将纯Mg和Mg-10%Al母合金在SG2-5-10型电阻加热炉中熔炼并浇注到尺寸为150 mm×100 mm×20 mm的45号钢钢模中,制得Mg-1%Al坯料,然后在SX-16-14Q型箱式电阻炉中于420 ℃均匀化处理24 h。在数控铣床中将均匀化处理后的坯料厚度铣至12.5 mm,然后采用420 mm×400 mm双辊轧机进行轧制。首先将Mg-1%Al合金从厚12.5 mm预轧制到厚10.0 mm,再采用不同应变速率进行大应变(压下量80%)轧制,轧制应变速率分别为10 s-1、15 s-1、20 s-1、25 s-1和30 s-1。轧制过程中,先将样品放入SX-16-14Q型箱式电阻炉中400 ℃保温20 min,然后进行预轧制;预轧制后在空气中冷却至室温,然后于400 ℃保温15 min进行不同应变速率的轧制,轧制完成后立即水淬。轧制工艺参数详见表1
在轧制后板材的中心切取10 mm×10 mm的样品。待样品表面磨抛光滑、基本无划痕后,采用由0.3 g苦味酸、7.0 mL无水乙醇、1.5 mL冰醋酸、2.0 mL蒸馏水组成的腐蚀剂腐蚀试样,然后用Leica DMI3000M型光学显微镜(OM)观察试样微观组织。阻尼性能测试仪器为DMA850型动态热机械分析仪,夹具选用10 mm单悬臂,阻尼试样尺寸为30 mm×3 mm×1 mm。应变振幅阻尼谱的测试频率为1 Hz。温度阻尼谱的测试频率分别为0.5、1.0、2.0、5.0、10.0 Hz,区间为40~375 ℃,升温速率为1 ℃/min,应变振幅为4×10-5。根据Q/6S977—1991《金属力学性能测试》标准,采用DK7732型电火花数控线切割机床沿板材的轧制方向(RD)切出如图1所示的拉伸试样,标距为15 mm;仪器采用ETM105D型电子万能试验机,测试环境为室温,试验加载速率为2 mm/min。采用SIGMA型场发射扫描电子显微镜(SEM)检测合金成分及观察拉伸试样断口形貌。
Mg-1%Al合金铸态及均匀化热处理后显微组织见图2。Mg-1%Al合金铸态组织为粗大晶粒,晶粒内部存在白色线条,边界上随机分布着黑色点状物;经均匀化热处理后白色线条消失。图3为合金的能谱分析结果,详细的元素种类及含量如表2所示。结果表明,白色线条由Al原子富集形成,黑色点状物为杂质;均匀化热处理后合金成分更均匀,白色线条消失。
不同轧制应变速率下Mg-1%Al合金显微组织见图4。Mg-1%Al板材经轧制后均发生了动态再结晶,且晶粒均为细小等轴晶。随着轧制应变速率增加,Mg-1%Al合金平均晶粒尺寸逐渐增加。通过截线法测得5个应变速率下的板材平均晶粒尺寸分别为4.04 μm、4.50 μm、6.97 μm、7.40 μm和10.15 μm。高应变速率轧制后的Mg-1%Al板材组织大部分发生了动态再结晶,且轧制应变速率的变化会影响板材轧制时的温度,从而影响板材晶粒尺寸[11]。随着轧制应变速率增加,原始粗大晶粒逐渐被细小晶粒吞噬,组织更均匀。这是因为随着轧制应变速率增加,位错密度增大,变形储能增加,为再结晶形核提供了更多驱动力[12]。然而,在高应变速率轧制过程中,随着应变速率提高,轧制时轧后板材与轧辊之间的能量交换逐渐减少,更多机械能转化为热能,变形温度增加,晶粒变大,再结晶体积分数增加[13]
不同轧制应变速率下的Mg-1%Al合金XRD图谱见图5。由图5可知,合金中只存在α-Mg相,未检测出Mg17Al12相。推测其原因是Al原子全部固溶于Mg基体中。
镁合金属于密排六方晶体结构,可启动的滑移系少,而镁合金基面滑移系启动的临界切应力较低,晶粒c轴在轧制变形时容易在力偶的作用下旋转至与法向平行的方向,形成平行于轧制方向的(0002)强基面织构,即大多数晶粒的基面平行于板材轧向,织构的类型及极密度使材料具有明显的各向异性,从而影响材料的力学性能[14-15]表3图5中各轧制态板材基面峰与锥面峰强度之比,通过XRD图谱可看出,(0002)基面峰与锥面峰强度之比随着应变速率增加而逐渐减小,即板材晶粒择优取向减弱,说明织构强度减弱。
图6为不同轧制应变速率下Mg-1%Al合金的(0002)织构图。板材织构强度随应变速率增加而减小。显然,较高的轧制应变速率可以减弱Mg-1%Al板材的基面织构强度。文献[16]和[17]发现,动态再结晶可以有效地削弱基面织构,因为再结晶在成核及随后的晶粒旋转过程中会削弱晶粒的择优取向。变形温度[11]对晶粒转速影响较大,变形温度与晶粒转速成正比。因此,随着轧制应变速率增加,再结晶体积分数增加,板材变形温度升高,导致基面织构强度降低。
不同应变速率下Mg-1%Al合金的工程应力-应变曲线见图7表4为不同应变速率下Mg-1%Al板材的各项力学性能。显然,轧制后板材极限抗拉强度和抗拉屈服强度显著提高且随着轧制应变速率增加而降低。延伸率随应变速率的增加呈先增加后降低的趋势,在应变速率20 s-1时为25.33%。
图8为不同应变速率下Mg-1%Al板材的断口形貌。应变速率10 s-1时,断口的撕裂棱较多,伴随少量解理面,根据断口形貌可判定为韧-脆性混合断裂。应变速率20 s-1时,韧窝数量增加且韧窝变深,试样塑性变形较为明显。应变速率25 s-1和30 s-1的试样断口形貌与20 s-1接近,主要表现为韧性断裂。
不同应变速率下Mg-1%Al合金的阻尼值Q-1与应变振幅的函数曲线如图9所示。所有曲线均可以分为2个区域。在低应变振幅阶段(区域1),Q-1不敏感,基本不受应变振幅影响,这被称为与应变振幅无关的阻尼Q0-1。应变幅度超过临界值εcr时,Q-1随应变振幅增加而显著增加(区域2),这被称为应变振幅相关阻尼QH-1。在区域1阶段,位错被弱钉扎点(溶质原子、空位及其他点缺陷)钉扎,弱钉扎点之间的位错运动产生能量耗散。在区域2阶段,振动中的位错脱离弱钉扎点,但仍被强钉扎点(沉淀物、晶界、位错缠结点等)束缚。随着应变振幅增加,合金在不同应变速率下的阻尼值Q-1呈现急剧增加的趋势,且随着应变速率增加而增加。应变振幅0.1%时,各应变速率下的Q-1值分别为0.040、0.042、0.047、0.052和0.061。
Granato-Lücke(G-L)位错阻尼模型被广泛用于解释镁及其合金的室温位错阻尼机制。根据G-L阻尼模型,总阻尼能力Q-1是应变无关阻尼Q0-1和应变相关阻尼QH-1之和[18-19]
式中ρ为可移动位错密度,g/cm3b为Burgers矢量;LCLN分别为弱钉扎点之间的平均距离和强钉扎点间的平均距离,cm;FB为位错和弱钉扎点间的结合力,N;E为弹性模量,Pa;G为剪切模量,Pa;ε为应变幅度值;ω为角频率,rad/s。
板材经大变形量(80%)轧制后,内部会产生大量位错,造成位错缠结,这是由于变形时晶界容易倾斜、扭曲并形成亚晶界[20]。板材再结晶体积分数与应变速率呈正相关,而再结晶晶粒在形成过程中会消耗大量位错。因此,再结晶体积分数越高,消耗的位错越多,位错缠结点越少,可移动位错密度ρ增加。由式(2)可知,ρ与应变无关,与阻尼Q0-1呈正相关,故Q0-1与轧制应变速率呈正相关。板材平均晶粒尺寸随着应变速率增加而增加,故晶界数量减少,强钉扎点间的距离LN增加。由式(3)和(4)可知,LN与应变相关阻尼QH-1呈正相关,故QH-1与轧制应变速率呈正相关。综上,室温阻尼性能Q-1随轧制应变速率增加而增加。
频率1 Hz时,不同应变速率下Mg-1%Al板材的温度阻尼谱如图10所示。由图10可知,所有样品的阻尼-温度曲线存在一个小平台P1和一个峰P2,P1出现在100~150 ℃之间,P2出现在300~350 ℃之间。在温度阻尼测试中,随着温度升高,材料内部存在的点缺陷、线缺陷和面缺陷被激活,原子运动加剧,空位更容易形成并迁移,使得位错线的攀移与晶界滑移更容易进行[21]。因此,阻尼性能与温度呈正相关。阻尼峰的出现原因如下:材料内部的内耗源在某一固定频率振动时,弛豫时间随温度变化而改变,弛豫时间与振动的角频率相乘等于1,即ωτ=1时,阻尼-温度曲线上出现阻尼峰。图11为不同应变速率下Mg-1%Al板材在不同频率的阻尼-温度曲线。镁合金的阻尼机制属于位错型机制,在温度阻尼测试中对阻尼的贡献主要是位错与晶界滑移。由于位错与晶界滑移的固有频率远低于测量频率,阻尼性能在该实验所选的频率范围内随着频率增加而降低[21]
图11可以看出,不同应变速率下轧板的小平台处表现出相同的特性,即应变速率一定时,随着测试频率升高,小平台P1Q-1值逐渐降低,温度基本不变。频率一定时,随着应变速率增加,P1Q-1值也呈下降趋势,且P1处温度向低温方向移动,说明P1具有热激活的特征,即变形越迅速、应变速率越高时,晶粒尺寸越大,晶界数量越少,P1越容易产生。P2峰的峰温位置不随频率升高而移动,但峰高随频率升高而降低。随着应变速率增加,P2峰高度降低,峰的位置向高温方向移动。与P1相比,P2峰的峰高均较高,说明产生P2峰的过程消耗的能量较大,阻尼值高。由文献[21]可知,P2峰属于再结晶峰,是由材料内部发生动态再结晶产生的。在这几种轧制态板材中,动态再结晶皆已完全发生。随着应变速率增加,晶粒长大,位错密度减小,储存能减小,再结晶的趋势减弱,即应变速率越大,P2峰的峰温越高,P2峰越难产生。
1)随着轧制应变速率增加,Mg-1%Al板材的平均晶粒尺寸和再结晶体积分数逐渐增加,抗拉强度、屈服强度和织构强度逐渐减小,延伸率在应变速率20 s-1时最高,为25.33%。这与晶粒尺寸和织构强度有关。
2)位错密度、晶粒尺寸及织构强度是影响镁合金阻尼性能的重要因素。随着轧制应变速率增加,再结晶体积分数逐渐增加,板材位错密度逐渐减小,位错缠结点减少,晶粒尺寸增加,织构强度减弱。因此,室温阻尼性能表现为随着应变速率增加而增加,应变速率30 s-1下应变振幅0.1%时的阻尼值为0.061,是应变速率15 s-1时的1.5倍。
3)应变速率一定时,阻尼性能随着频率增加而降低。
