Cathode and anode materials in spent lithium iron phosphate battery powder are difficult to be separated by flotation. In order to solve this problem, it was proposed that lithium iron phosphate battery powder was pretreated by oxidative roasting, and then subjected to a flotation process for seperation between the cathode and anode materials of lithium iron phosphate. The results show that after lithium iron phosphate battery powder is pretreated by oxidative roasting at 500 ℃ for 30 minutes, the subsequent flotation process can lead to the graphite-based anode material with carbon grade up from 47.63% to 97.70%, and the cathode material with carbon grade down from 24.00% to 1.01%, presenting a significant separation effect. In comparison, the battery powder without pretreatment has cobweb-like long carbon-chain organic matter on its surface, which causes adhesion between cathode and anode materials of batteries, resulting in poor separation effect by flotation. The pretreatment of oxidative roasting can effectively eliminate the long carbon-chain organic matter on those cathode and anode materials, thus enhancing the difference in surface properties between cathode and anode materials. As a result, the enhanced flotation separation effect makes graphite-based anode material recycled from spent lithium iron phosphate batteries.

为了解决废旧磷酸铁锂电池粉中正、负极材料难浮选分离的问题,采用氧化焙烧预处理磷酸铁锂电池粉,再通过浮选分离磷酸铁锂正、负极材料。结果表明,与未预处理电池粉相比,磷酸铁锂电池粉经500 ℃氧化焙烧处理30 min后浮选所得负极石墨产品碳品位从47.63%提高至97.70%,正极产品中碳品位由24.00%降至1.01%,分选效果明显增强。未预处理的电池粉表面存在蛛网状长碳链有机物,使得电池正、负极材料发生粘连,浮选分离效果较差;通过氧化焙烧预处理,能有效消除正、负极材料上的长碳链有机物,增强正、负极材料间表面性质差异,强化浮选分离效率,实现废旧磷酸铁锂电池粉中石墨负极材料的回收。

为了解决废旧磷酸铁锂电池粉中正、负极材料难浮选分离的问题,采用氧化焙烧预处理磷酸铁锂电池粉,再通过浮选分离磷酸铁锂正、负极材料。结果表明,与未预处理电池粉相比,磷酸铁锂电池粉经500 ℃氧化焙烧处理30 min后浮选所得负极石墨产品碳品位从47.63%提高至97.70%,正极产品中碳品位由24.00%降至1.01%,分选效果明显增强。未预处理的电池粉表面存在蛛网状长碳链有机物,使得电池正、负极材料发生粘连,浮选分离效果较差;通过氧化焙烧预处理,能有效消除正、负极材料上的长碳链有机物,增强正、负极材料间表面性质差异,强化浮选分离效率,实现废旧磷酸铁锂电池粉中石墨负极材料的回收。

Cathode and anode materials in spent lithium iron phosphate battery powder are difficult to be separated by flotation. In order to solve this problem, it was proposed that lithium iron phosphate battery powder was pretreated by oxidative roasting, and then subjected to a flotation process for seperation between the cathode and anode materials of lithium iron phosphate. The results show that after lithium iron phosphate battery powder is pretreated by oxidative roasting at 500 ℃ for 30 minutes, the subsequent flotation process can lead to the graphite-based anode material with carbon grade up from 47.63% to 97.70%, and the cathode material with carbon grade down from 24.00% to 1.01%, presenting a significant separation effect. In comparison, the battery powder without pretreatment has cobweb-like long carbon-chain organic matter on its surface, which causes adhesion between cathode and anode materials of batteries, resulting in poor separation effect by flotation. The pretreatment of oxidative roasting can effectively eliminate the long carbon-chain organic matter on those cathode and anode materials, thus enhancing the difference in surface properties between cathode and anode materials. As a result, the enhanced flotation separation effect makes graphite-based anode material recycled from spent lithium iron phosphate batteries.

磷酸铁锂电池具有优异的循环性能和安全性能,在电池市场中的份额不断增加。受电池使用寿命限制,未来市场中磷酸铁锂电池的报废总量会不断攀升[1-5]。电池作为高污染物,如果不能合理处理,会对环境产生极大污染;此外,电池中富含高价值金属以及石墨等材料,合理回收可以创造良好效益。因此,从环境保护和资源利用两方面考虑,都需要对废旧电池进行回收处理[6-7]。目前,磷酸铁锂电池的回收利用主要集中在电池正极材料修复再生以及对电池中的Li、Fe、P元素进行回收,对负极石墨材料的回收[8-11]报道较少。为完善磷酸铁锂电池全组分回收利用体系,本文采用氧化焙烧预处理、浮选分离方法,对磷酸铁锂电池负极石墨进行回收,为后续磷酸铁锂电池全组分回收提供技术支撑。
试剂:捕收剂煤油(淄博宝君有限责任公司,工业级,纯度50%),起泡剂2#油(湖南明珠选矿药剂有限责任公司,工业级,纯度50%),调整剂BP01(广东邦普循环科技有限公司自主研发)。
试验仪器:0.75L-XFD型浮选机(吉林探矿设备厂),扫描电镜(Nova Nano SEM 450,赛默飞世尔科技有限公司),HCS-140型红外碳硫分析仪(上海德凯仪器有限公司),KSL-1200X-M型马弗炉(合肥科晶材料技术有限公司),Mastersizer 2000激光粒度仪(马尔文公司)。
试验原料由广东邦普循环科技有限公司回收的废旧磷酸铁锂电池经放电、拆解、破碎、打粉、筛分等流程后获得,取代表性原料分别进行元素分析、XRD分析和扫描电镜分析,结果分别见表1图13
称取120 g磷酸铁锂电池粉,置于宽×长×高为5 cm×7 cm×4 cm的方形坩埚中,放入马弗炉中,在升温速率5 ℃/min条件下由室温(25 ℃)升至预定焙烧温度,维持预定焙烧时间,然后自然冷却至室温,将物料从马弗炉中取出。
称取焙烧预处理后的磷酸铁锂电池粉100 g,置于750 mL浮选槽中,加入去离子水至指定液面,设定浮选机搅拌转速1 998 r/min,依次加入BP01、煤油、2#油,待药剂与物料充分混合后,开启充气与刮泡刮板(充气量0.05 m3/h),其中刮出泡沫为浮选精矿(负极石墨材料),留在搅拌槽中的矿浆为浮选尾矿(正极材料),浮选试验所得产品经过滤烘干后分别称重,经化学元素分析后计算回收率。浮选工艺流程见图4
空气气氛条件下,焙烧时间30 min,研究了焙烧温度对磷酸铁锂电池粉分选指标的影响,结果如图5所示。由图5可知,随着焙烧温度升高,精矿碳品位和回收率先增加后基本维持稳定。与未焙烧预处理的原料相比,磷酸铁锂电池粉经500 ℃氧化焙烧处理后浮选所得负极石墨产品碳品位从47.63%升至97.70%,正极产品碳品位由24.00%降至1.01%,浮选分离效果明显;焙烧温度超过500 ℃后,精矿品位和回收率基本不变,尾矿碳品位先下降后上升,这是因为在较高温度下,电池粉中长碳链有机物及碳包覆膜基本被消除,正极材料亲水性得到恢复,但继续升高温度无法进一步增强正极材料亲水性,浮选所得精矿品位基本维持稳定。焙烧温度过高会导致磷酸铁锂材料热解出更小粒度的颗粒,比表面积很大的颗粒易于吸附在石墨表面,使得较小粒度的石墨无法上浮而进入尾矿中。综合考虑,适宜的焙烧预处理温度为500 ℃,此条件下通过浮选开路试验可获得碳品位97.70%、回收率76.05%的石墨精矿。
焙烧温度500 ℃,其他条件不变,探究了焙烧时间对磷酸铁锂电池粉分选指标的影响,结果如图6所示。由图6可知,随着焙烧时间延长,电池粉浮选所得尾矿产品碳品位均不超过1.53%,石墨精矿产品碳品位先增大后维持不变。随着焙烧时间延长,电池粉中正、负极材料表面的长碳链有机物分解程度不断加深,焙烧时间超过30 min后,电池粉中正、负极材料表面的长碳链有机物基本被分解,再继续延长焙烧时间不会提高精矿产品碳品位;石墨精矿碳回收率先增大后减小,主要原因是随着焙烧时间延长,空气中的氧气先与长碳链有机物反应,浮选效果变好,长碳链有机物基本被分解后,部分石墨材料会与氧气反应(反算的原矿碳品位下降),造成碳回收率下降。综合考虑,氧化焙烧时间30 min为宜。
不同焙烧温度下所得磷酸铁锂电池粉物相分析结果如图7所示。由图7可知,焙烧温度400 ℃时,焙烧后物料主要物相为LiFePO4、C、C8H8N4O等;焙烧温度450 ℃时,物料中LiFePO4物相仍未改变,但长碳链有机物物相基本消失,表明电池粉正、负极间的长碳链有机物得到了分解;焙烧温度超过500 ℃后,LiFePO4被氧化破坏为Li3Fe2(PO43和Fe2O3,物料中主要物相为Li3Fe2(PO43、Fe2O3和C。
不同焙烧温度下磷酸铁锂电池粉SEM照片如图8所示。由图8可知。焙烧温度400 ℃时,电池材料表面存在大量蛛网状物质,正极材料和负极石墨粘连程度很高,导致浮选所得石墨产品碳品位和回收率较低;焙烧温度450 ℃时,电池粉表面蛛网状物质明显减少,但仍有部分正极材料黏附于石墨材料表面,证实了正极材料的黏附使得部分石墨无法上浮,尾矿碳品位增加;焙烧温度500 ℃时,正、负极材料黏附程度进一步降低,电池粉表面碳链有机物被有效分解,石墨表面变得更光滑,与正极材料间的粘连程度更弱,正、负极浮选分离效果较好;焙烧温度更高时,正极材料被热解为很小粒度的颗粒黏附于负极材料表面,证实了焙烧温度超过500 ℃后浮选尾矿碳品位有所增加,恶化了浮选效果。
不同焙烧时间下磷酸铁锂电池粉物相分析结果如图9所示。由图9可知,焙烧时间10 min时,焙烧后电池粉主要物相为LiFePO4、Li3Fe2(PO43、C和C8H8N4O等;焙烧时间30 min时,LiFePO4的氧化程度不断增加,LiFePO4及长碳链C8H8N4O衍射峰基本消失,其主要物相为Li3Fe2(PO43和C;焙烧时间超过50 min后,电池粉中Fe2O3衍射峰增多,LiFePO4氧化程度进一步加深,其主要物相为Li3Fe2(PO43、C、Fe2O3。由此可知,焙烧30 min后可以基本实现石墨表面长碳链有机物的分解。
不同焙烧时间下磷酸铁锂电池粉物料SEM照片如图10所示。由图10可知,焙烧时间10 min时,电池粉表面存在大量蜂窝状物质,致使正极材料与石墨发生粘连;焙烧时间30 min时,蜂窝状物质基本消失,正极材料与石墨粘连程度减弱;随着焙烧时间进一步延长,大颗粒磷酸铁锂材料被分解为小颗粒,其正极材料结构被破坏。由此可知,焙烧30 min后可以基本实现石墨表面长碳链等有机物的分解。
1)合理控制氧化焙烧预处理条件,能有效去除磷酸铁锂电池粉中长碳链有机物,降低正、负极材料的粘连,增强浮选回收效果,适宜的氧化焙烧温度为500 ℃、焙烧时间为30 min。该条件下通过开路浮选能得到碳品位97.70%、回收率76.05%的石墨精矿,尾矿中碳品位低于1.53%。
2)焙烧温度超过500 ℃后,LiFePO4正极材料氧化分解为Li3Fe2(PO43和Fe2O3;焙烧温度过高会造成磷酸铁锂正极材料分解产生更多细粒物质,恶化浮选效果;氧化焙烧时间过长,会造成石墨材料被氧化,碳回收率降低。
