Ball milling was adopted to assist leaching of valuable metals from the cathode powder of spent batteries in citric acid and hydrogen peroxide system. It is found that ball milling can exert mechanical energy on the reaction solution, leading to changes in its structure and physical and chemical properties. As a result, chemical reactions can occur, which not only increases reaction rate, but also shortens leaching time. It is shown that after 30 min leaching at 60 ℃, with citric acid concentration of 0.8 mol/L, H2O2 at a mass fraction of 20%, liquid-solid ratio of 6∶1, and rotation speed of 60 r/min for a ball mill, the leaching rates of lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese can reach 99.6%, 99.5%, 99.3% and 98.5% respectively. It is concluded that this processing technique, being characterized by low cost and high efficiency, can provide a certain reference for recycling of spent batteries.

采用球磨辅助柠檬酸-过氧化氢体系浸出废旧锂电池正极材料中有价金属,结果表明:球磨对反应液体施加机械能,诱导其结构及物理化学性质发生变化,诱发化学反应,提高反应速率,缩短浸出时间;在浸出时间30 min、浸出温度60 ℃、柠檬酸浓度0.8 mol/L、H2O2质量分数20%、液固比6∶1、球磨机转速60 r/min条件下,锂浸出率99.6%、镍浸出率99.5%、钴浸出率99.3%、锰浸出率98.5%。该方法成本低、效率高,可为废旧锂电池回收提供一定参考。

Ball milling was adopted to assist leaching of valuable metals from the cathode powder of spent batteries in citric acid and hydrogen peroxide system. It is found that ball milling can exert mechanical energy on the reaction solution, leading to changes in its structure and physical and chemical properties. As a result, chemical reactions can occur, which not only increases reaction rate, but also shortens leaching time. It is shown that after 30 min leaching at 60 ℃, with citric acid concentration of 0.8 mol/L, H2O2 at a mass fraction of 20%, liquid-solid ratio of 6∶1, and rotation speed of 60 r/min for a ball mill, the leaching rates of lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese can reach 99.6%, 99.5%, 99.3% and 98.5% respectively. It is concluded that this processing technique, being characterized by low cost and high efficiency, can provide a certain reference for recycling of spent batteries.

新能源汽车主要的动力来源是锂离子动力电池[1-3](以下简称锂电池),近些年,随着新能源汽车在汽车整车市场占比迅速增大,锂电池市场规模不断扩大,需求量急剧上升。然而,锂电池经过500~1 000次充放电循环后,会出现反应物失活、电池容量下降现象,导致电池报废[4-6]。随着动力锂电池报废量增加,目前迫切需要对锂电池进行回收处理。
湿法浸出工艺回收废旧锂电池中有价金属,效率高、成本低和污染较轻,因而受到广泛关注[7-9]。有机酸因其酸性温和、无二次污染,逐渐作为废弃锂电池浸出剂[10-12]。在众多有机酸中,柠檬酸因为价格便宜和来源广泛[13-15],成为常用浸出剂。但由于柠檬酸为弱酸,浸出时间长、浸出率低,研究一种绿色高效、流程简单、适应性强且能明显缩短浸出反应周期的辅助柠檬酸浸出废旧锂电池有价金属的方法具有重要意义。
实验所用废旧锂电池正极材料来自某废旧电池回收公司,其主要化学成分分析结果见表1
放电、拆解处理:将废旧三元锂电池进行放电处理后进行人工拆解,拆除锂电池大包外壳和上盖等得到正极片。
粉碎、筛分处理:将得到的正极片粉碎处理,筛下物粉料为锂电池正极材料黑粉。
焙烧[16-17]:将筛分处理得到的锂电池正极材料黑粉放入马弗炉中进行焙烧,去除锂电池正极材料黑粉中的有机物电解质、聚合物隔膜、导电炭杂质,热解得到的正极材料粉料经冷却后收集备用。
碱浸:使用0.1 mol/L的NaOH溶液,按照液固比5∶1,对正极材料粉料进行碱浸处理,去除正极材料中残余Al,过滤得到碱浸渣。碱浸过程中发生的化学反应如下:
球磨辅助浸出:取一定浓度的柠檬酸和一定质量分数的H2O2加入球磨机,同时向球磨机中按一定液固比加入预处理后得到的碱浸渣,反应完成后,放出料浆,过滤分离。
球磨辅助浸出的目的是使正极材料粉料中的活性物质与酸发生反应,使有价金属以离子形式溶于溶液中,对反应液体施加机械能,诱导其结构及物理化学性质发生变化,并诱发化学反应,以提高反应速率,减少浸出液用量,降低成本,缩短湿法回收周期。浸出过程化学反应如下:
有价金属浸出率按下式计算:
式中:μ为金属浸出率,%;ρ为浸出液中金属离子的质量浓度,mg/L;V为浸出液体积,L;m为正极材料质量,mg;w为废旧锂电池正极材料中金属元素质量分数,%。
本文探究不同浸出时间、浸出温度、柠檬酸浓度、H2O2质量分数、柠檬酸过氧化氢混合液与正极材料液固比(简称液固比)、球磨机转速等条件对各金属浸出率的影响。
浸出温度40 ℃、柠檬酸浓度0.6 mol/L、H2O2质量分数15%、液固比5∶1、球磨机转速50 r/min条件下,浸出时间对各有价金属浸出率的影响如图1所示。由图1可知,浸出时间由10 min提升至30 min,各有价金属元素浸出率不断上升,锂浸出率由70.4%升至86.3%,镍浸出率由50.2%升至78.2%,钴浸出率由52.9%升至76.6%,锰浸出率由54.6%升至72.1%;继续延长浸出时间,各有价金属元素浸出率无明显变化。因此,适宜的浸出时间为30 min。
浸出时间30 min,其他条件不变,浸出温度对各有价金属浸出率的影响如图2所示。由图2可知,浸出温度由20 ℃升至60 ℃,各有价金属元素浸出率不断上升,锂浸出率由76.2%升至90.3%,镍浸出率由69.6%升至87.8%,钴浸出率由68.8%升至83.9%,锰浸出率由67.2%升至79.3%;继续提高浸出温度,各有价金属元素浸出率无明显变化。因此,适宜的浸出温度为60 ℃。
浸出温度60 ℃,其他条件不变,柠檬酸浓度对各有价金属浸出率的影响如图3所示。由图3可知,柠檬酸浓度由0.4 mol/L升至0.8 mol/L,各有价金属元素浸出率不断上升,锂浸出率由82.2%升至93.2%,镍浸出率由79.7%升至92.6%,钴浸出率由75.3%升至89.1%,锰浸出率由77.6%升至88.6%;继续提高柠檬酸浓度,各有价金属元素浸出率无明显变化。因此,适宜的柠檬酸浓度为0.8 mol/L。
柠檬酸浓度0.8 mol/L,其他条件不变,H2O2质量分数对各有价金属浸出率的影响如图4所示。由图4可知,H2O2质量分数由10%提高到20%,各有价金属元素浸出率不断上升,锂浸出率由84.5%升至95.9%,镍浸出率由81.3%升至93.8%,钴浸出率由80.5%升至92.1%,锰浸出率由80.1%升至90.9%;继续提高H2O2质量分数,各有价金属元素浸出率变化较小。因此,适宜的H2O2质量分数为20%。
H2O2质量分数20%,其他条件不变,液固比对各有价金属浸出率的影响如图5所示。由图5可知,液固比由4∶1增加到6∶1,各有价金属元素浸出率不断上升,锂浸出率由89.1%升至97.3%,镍浸出率由91.3%升至96.9%,钴浸出率由83.9%升至96.5%,锰浸出率由85.1%升至95.9%;继续提高液固比,各有价金属元素浸出率无明显变化。因此,适宜的液固比为6∶1。
液固比为6∶1,其他条件不变,球磨机转速对各有价金属浸出率的影响如图6所示。由图6可知,球磨机转速由40 r/min升至60 r/min,各有价金属元素浸出率不断上升,锂浸出率由95.5%升至99.6%,镍浸出率由93.7%升至99.5%,钴浸出率由93.9%升至99.3%,锰浸出率由95.1%升至98.5%;继续提高球磨机转速,各有价金属元素浸出率无明显变化。因此,适宜的球磨机转速为60 r/min。
根据单因素实验结果,得到球磨辅助柠檬酸-过氧化氢体系浸出废旧锂电池中有价金属的适宜工艺参数为:浸出时间30 min、球磨机转速60 r/min、浸出温度60 ℃、液固比6∶1、柠檬酸浓度0.8 mol/L、H2O2质量分数20%,此条件下进行优化条件实验,得到锂浸出率99.6%、镍浸出率99.5%、钴浸出率99.3%、锰浸出率98.5%,较好地实现了废旧电池中有价金属的浸出。
1)通过球磨辅助柠檬酸-过氧化氢体系浸出废旧锂电池正极材料中的有价金属,对反应液体施加机械能,诱导其结构及物理化学性质发生变化,诱发化学反应,可以提高反应速率,减少浸出液用量,降低成本,缩短湿法回收周期。
2)球磨辅助柠檬酸-过氧化氢体系浸出废旧电池正极材料中有价金属的适宜工艺参数为:浸出时间30 min、浸出温度60 ℃、柠檬酸浓度0.8 mol/L、H2O2质量分数20%、液固比6∶1、球磨机转速60 r/min,在此条件下,锂浸出率99.6%,镍浸出率99.5%,钴浸出率99.3%,锰浸出率98.5%。
