With manganese sulfate as raw material and hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide as modifier, trimanganese tetroxide was synthesized by complex-precipitation method, with which lithium manganate cathode material was then synthesized by high-temperature solid-state reaction. The effects of modifier amount on the morphology and particle size of trimanganese tetroxide and the specific discharge capacity of lithium manganate cathode material were all discussed. Results show that serious particle agglomeration can occur in the trimanganese tetroxide synthesized without modifier. With 3.0 g/L hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide as the modifier, the synthesized trimanganese tetroxide has uniform particle size, and is dispersed without any agglomeration. Spinel lithium manganate was synthesized with the self-made modified trimanganese tetroxide, and then compared with the spinel lithium manganate synthesized with three kinds of trimanganese tetroxide available on the market. The results show that the lithium manganate synthesized with the self-made modified trimanganese tetroxide can present better electrochemical performance, delivering an initial discharge capacity of 120.43 mAh/g, with a retention rate of 96.79% after 50 cycles at 1C.

以硫酸锰为原料,以十六烷基三甲基溴化铵为修饰剂,通过络合沉淀法制备四氧化三锰,再通过高温固相法合成锰酸锂正极材料,探讨了修饰剂用量对四氧化三锰形貌、粒度和锰酸锂正极材料放电比容量的影响。结果表明:未加修饰剂时,制备的四氧化三锰颗粒团聚现象严重;当修饰剂十六烷基三甲基溴化铵质量浓度为3.0 g/L时,制备的修饰四氧化三锰颗粒大小均匀、分散无团聚。用自制的修饰四氧化三锰制备尖晶石锰酸锂,并与市场销售的3种四氧化三锰制备的尖晶石锰酸锂进行了性能对比,结果表明,修饰四氧化三锰制备的锰酸锂电化学性能更优,首次放电比容量达到120.43 mAh/g,1C下循环50次容量保持率为96.79%。

以硫酸锰为原料,以十六烷基三甲基溴化铵为修饰剂,通过络合沉淀法制备四氧化三锰,再通过高温固相法合成锰酸锂正极材料,探讨了修饰剂用量对四氧化三锰形貌、粒度和锰酸锂正极材料放电比容量的影响。结果表明:未加修饰剂时,制备的四氧化三锰颗粒团聚现象严重;当修饰剂十六烷基三甲基溴化铵质量浓度为3.0 g/L时,制备的修饰四氧化三锰颗粒大小均匀、分散无团聚。用自制的修饰四氧化三锰制备尖晶石锰酸锂,并与市场销售的3种四氧化三锰制备的尖晶石锰酸锂进行了性能对比,结果表明,修饰四氧化三锰制备的锰酸锂电化学性能更优,首次放电比容量达到120.43 mAh/g,1C下循环50次容量保持率为96.79%。

With manganese sulfate as raw material and hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide as modifier, trimanganese tetroxide was synthesized by complex-precipitation method, with which lithium manganate cathode material was then synthesized by high-temperature solid-state reaction. The effects of modifier amount on the morphology and particle size of trimanganese tetroxide and the specific discharge capacity of lithium manganate cathode material were all discussed. Results show that serious particle agglomeration can occur in the trimanganese tetroxide synthesized without modifier. With 3.0 g/L hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide as the modifier, the synthesized trimanganese tetroxide has uniform particle size, and is dispersed without any agglomeration. Spinel lithium manganate was synthesized with the self-made modified trimanganese tetroxide, and then compared with the spinel lithium manganate synthesized with three kinds of trimanganese tetroxide available on the market. The results show that the lithium manganate synthesized with the self-made modified trimanganese tetroxide can present better electrochemical performance, delivering an initial discharge capacity of 120.43 mAh/g, with a retention rate of 96.79% after 50 cycles at 1C.

尖晶石锰酸锂作为锂电池正极材料,具有价格低廉、锂离子迁移速度快、倍率性能好、服役寿命长等优点,是一种非常有前景的正极材料[1]。制备尖晶石锰酸锂常用的锰源有二氧化锰、碳酸锰、四氧化三锰和硫酸锰[2-3]等。电解二氧化锰制备锰酸锂成本高,且锰酸锂颗粒粒径不均,由于杂质含量较高、形态不稳定,对后期尖晶石锰酸锂电池电化学性能有较大影响;利用碳酸锰制备锰酸锂,因高温分解的氧化物成分复杂、纯度低,制备的锰酸锂正极材料品质较差;四氧化三锰为尖晶石结构,在合成尖晶石锰酸锂的过程中不会发生剧烈结构变化,可以有效缓解电池充放电比容量衰减,且四氧化三锰具有毒性低、生产过程污染小、杂质含量低、生产成本低等优势,特别适合作为尖晶石锰酸锂的锰源。
四氧化三锰一般由硫酸锰制得,常用制备方法[4-5]包括氧化法、焙烧法、络合沉淀法等。氧化法是常用的四氧化三锰生产方法,但该方法生产成本高,产品杂质含量高、颗粒不均匀;焙烧法制备的四氧化三锰杂质含量高,颗粒不均匀;络合沉淀法具有操作简单、能耗低、产品晶型易于控制等优点,所生产的四氧化三锰更适合作为尖晶石锰酸锂的原料。
四氧化三锰制备尖晶石锰酸锂的方法有高温固相法[6]、溶胶凝胶法[7]、熔盐法[8]、微波合成法[9]、水热法[10]、共沉淀法[11]等。溶胶凝胶法溶剂用量大,损失大,生产成本高;熔盐法反应快,但制备条件苛刻,难以实现产业化;微波合成法节能,反应快,但对设备要求高,难以实现产业化;水热法易得到颗粒小、物相均一的产品,但合成后仍需煅烧,处理流程长,对设备的要求高,难以实现产业化;共沉淀法易于产业化,但水处理量大,组分难控制;高温固相法因操作工艺简单,条件易控制,成本低,成为制备尖晶石锰酸锂的适宜方法。
本文以硫酸锰为原料,以十六烷基三甲基溴化铵为修饰剂,采用络合沉淀法制备尖晶石型四氧化三锰,再用自制的四氧化三锰通过高温固相法制备尖晶石锰酸锂,并与市场销售的3种四氧化三锰制备的尖晶石锰酸锂进行了电化学性能对比。
络合沉淀法制备Mn3O4过程中,硫酸锰中的锰被碱化得到Mn2(OH)2SO4,Mn2(OH)2SO4一部分被氧化得到Mn3O4,另一部分继续被碱化得到Mn(OH)2,最后Mn(OH)2全部被氧化得到Mn3O4
利用四氧化三锰和碳酸锂制备锰酸锂的过程中,发生如下化学反应:
主要试剂:硫酸锰、氢氧化钠、氨水、氯化铵、十六烷基三甲基溴化铵(CTAB)、无水乙醇、高纯氧气,均为分析纯;碳酸锂、聚偏二氟乙烯树脂(PVDF)、乙炔碳黑、N-甲基-2-吡咯烷酮(NMP)、四氧化三锰(1~3号,分别来自上海、湖北、安徽),均为电池级。
主要仪器:行星式球磨机(QM-3SP2)、气氛炉(MXQ1700-30)、搅拌器(78-2)、红外烘干平板涂覆机(MSK-AFA-ES200)、磁力恒温水浴锅(DF-101S)、雷磁台式酸度计(PHS-3E)、电热鼓风干燥箱(101-1型)、压片机(MSK-T10)、扣式电池液压封口机(JK-YYFK-20)、手套箱(uSuper系列)、纳米粒度及Zata电位分析仪(Malvern)、扫描电子显微镜(捷克TESCAN MIRA LMS)、电池检测系统(CT-4008Tn-5V10mA-164)、X射线衍射仪(日本Rigaku Ultima IV)、电化学工作站(CHI760e)等。
称取20.0 g硫酸锰,配制成浓度1.0 mol/L的硫酸锰溶液,备用。于400 mL烧杯中加入pH=8的氨水-氯化铵缓冲溶液100 mL,分别加入质量浓度为0、2、2.5、3、3.5、4 g/L的十六烷基三甲基溴化铵修饰剂,搅拌溶解后,升温至45 ℃,按1 L/min的流速向溶液中通入氧气,在搅拌下缓慢滴加上述硫酸锰溶液,用5%的氢氧化钠溶液控制pH=10,在30 min内加完硫酸锰溶液后,继续保温搅拌4 h,陈化2 h,抽滤并用去离子水洗涤数次后放入烘箱,105 ℃干燥直至恒重,研磨过200目(0.075 mm)筛,得到自制表面修饰四氧化三锰(4号),并用电镜扫描检测其微观形貌。
按锂/锰物质的量比1.05∶2,分别称取7.864 g上述制备的四氧化三锰(4号),以及市场购买的3种不同四氧化三锰(1~3号),分别置于4个球磨罐中,加入2 g Li2CO3和50 mL无水乙醇,于球磨机中混合研磨3 h,取出,于烘箱中90 ℃干燥8 h。冷却至室温后用玛瑙研钵研磨,过200目(0.075 mm)筛后置于坩锅中,放入气氛炉中,以3 ℃/min速率升温,升温至700 ℃时,恒温煅烧10 h,全程氧气通气流量为0.4 L/min,自然冷却降温后取出,即得到锰酸锂正极材料。比较4种不同四氧化三锰制备的锰酸锂正极材料的微观状态(电镜分析、粒度分析)及电化学性能。
将PVDF溶于NMP中,配制0.025 g/mL的NMP/PVDF溶液,按正极材料∶乙炔碳黑∶黏结剂(NMP/PVDF)质量比8∶1∶1配成浆料,经涂布(铝箔)、干燥、切片后,在惰性气氛保护的手套箱中组装成纽扣电池,静置12 h,待电池内部较稳定后进行电化学测试。
图1为不同修饰剂十六烷基三甲基溴化铵质量浓度下,以络合沉淀法制备的四氧化三锰SEM图。由图1可看出,未加修饰剂时,样品颗粒不均匀,团聚现象严重;加入修饰剂修饰后,样品颗粒较均匀、饱满,呈现较为完整的类球形形貌。
修饰剂质量浓度对四氧化三锰粒度和锰酸锂比容量的影响见表1。从表1图1可知,未加修饰剂时,团聚现象严重、粒径较大,部分锂离子扩散通道被堵,首次放电比容量较低;随着修饰剂用量增加,颗粒变得大小均匀、分散无团聚,锂离子扩散通道通畅,首次放电比容量逐渐增大;但当修饰剂质量浓度大于3.0 g/L后,虽然样品颗粒外观和粒径变化不大,但放电比容量开始下降。这是因为适量的修饰剂可以稳定材料结构,但用量过多,锰酸锂纯度下降,电池内阻增加[11],放电比容量下降。适宜的修饰剂质量浓度为3.0 g/L。
以市场上采购的3种四氧化三锰(1~3号)与最佳修饰条件下自制的四氧化三锰(4号)分别制备了锰酸锂,使用SEM观察各四氧化三锰原料及锰酸锂产品形貌,结果见图2。由图2可以看出,市场购买的3种四氧化三锰颗粒不均匀,由其合成的锰酸锂产品颗粒大小不均,虽然大多为尖晶石结构,但晶型难保证一致。4号四氧化三锰颗粒均匀,由其合成的锰酸锂产品保持了很好的尖晶石结构。这是因为颗粒均匀的尖晶石型四氧化三锰在转化为锰酸锂的过程中,引起的内应力小,不会发生结构的剧烈变化,所得锰酸锂结构稳定[11]
由4种不同四氧化三锰合成的锰酸锂产品粒度分布见图3。结合图2图3可看出,1号产品团聚现象严重,锰酸锂颗粒粒径分布较广,未呈现正态分布;2号、3号和4号锰酸锂产品颗粒团聚较少,粒径基本呈正态分布,平均粒径350~650 nm;其中4号锰酸锂产品颗粒粒径范围最窄,颗粒最均匀,中位粒径为396 nm,锰酸锂颗粒均匀、团聚少,锰酸锂更易保持尖晶石结构,正极材料结构稳定。
对4种锰酸锂正极材料进行了XRD分析,并参照锰酸锂标准卡片(PDF#89-0117),结果见图4。由图4可以看出,1~4号锰酸锂正极材料的XRD图谱差别不大,衍射峰均较尖锐;4号锰酸锂没有出现修饰剂的杂峰,说明修饰剂未对锰酸锂材料的主体结构产生影响。
对4种锰酸锂正极材料进行了充放电测试,电化学性能检测结果见表2图5是4种不同四氧化三锰制备的尖晶石锰酸锂正极材料的充放电循环性能曲线。由图5可看出,锰酸锂电池在充放电后,电池容量逐渐减小。由表2图5可看出,4号锰酸锂的首次放电比容量最高,可达120.43 mAh/g,1C循环50次容量保持率为96.79%,这是因为尖晶石锰酸锂的电化学性能与前驱体四氧化三锰的纯度、颗粒大小、形貌等有关,自制的四氧化三锰为尖晶石型,合成尖晶石锰酸锂时,引起的内应力小,材料结构稳定,锰酸锂产品电化学性能较优异[11]。1号锰酸锂颗粒分布不均匀,有团聚现象,故放电比容量最低,在充放电时,锂离子脱嵌和迁移的阻力都较大,容量衰减最快。
图6为25 ℃时,1C倍率下4种锰酸锂正极材料的首次充放电曲线。从图6可以看出,首次充放电曲线在4.2 V和3.95 V附近出现两个电压平台,4个样品的比容量差别不大,其中4号锰酸锂样品的放电比容量为120.43 mAh/g,稍高于其他锰酸锂样品。1~4号样品首次充放电效率分别为91.66%、92.71%、92.75%和93.75%。
对4种锰酸锂正极材料进行了倍率性能测试,充放电倍率分别为1C,2C,5C,8C,10C,1C,测试结果如图7所示。其中倍率测试后恢复到1C充放电时,1号锰酸锂放电比容量为105.10 mAh/g,恢复率为91.0%,2号锰酸锂放电比容量为110.17 mAh/g,恢复率为93.4%,3号锰酸锂放电比容量为112.58 mAh/g,恢复率为94.94%,4号锰酸锂放电比容量为116.55 mAh/g,恢复率为96.78%。4号锰酸锂正极材料倍率性能最佳。
图8为4种锰酸锂样品的CV曲线。所有样品均有两对典型的氧化还原峰,分别对应锂离子的两步脱-嵌过程。1、2、3号锰酸锂样品的氧化还原峰对称性不好,峰值电流低,峰面积小,对应了较低放电比容量;4号样品峰值电流及峰面积均大于其他3种锰酸锂样品,且对称性较好,与首次放电比容量结果一致。
图9为4种锰酸锂样品的EIS阻抗图谱,对应的等效电路参数值见表3。所有样品EIS阻抗谱均由一个半圆和一条斜线组成,半圆为高频区,斜线为低频区,这是经典的电化学储锂曲线[12]。高频区的半圆表示电荷传递阻抗(Rct),半圆和坐标轴交点的距离表示溶液阻抗(Rs),低频区的斜线表示Li+在LiMn2O4晶格结构中的扩散过程,对应等效电路的Warburg阻抗。由表3可知,样品的溶液阻抗都很小,可以忽略;4号锰酸锂的Rct最小,表明Li+在电极-电极界面转移的阻碍最小,锂离子的扩散能垒最小,有利于锂离子的嵌入与脱嵌过程,因而表现出优异的高倍率性能。
1)以硫酸锰为原料、十六烷基三甲基溴化铵为修饰剂,通过络合沉淀法制备四氧化三锰。未加修饰剂时,制备的四氧化三锰颗粒团聚现象严重;当修饰剂十六烷基三甲基溴化铵质量浓度为3.0 g/L时,制备的修饰四氧化三锰颗粒大小均匀、分散无团聚。
2)用自制的修饰四氧化三锰制备尖晶石锰酸锂,并与市场销售的3种四氧化三锰制备的尖晶石锰酸锂进行了性能对比,修饰四氧化三锰制备的锰酸锂颗粒均匀,尖晶石晶型好,中位粒径为396 nm;修饰四氧化三锰制备的锰酸锂相对其他3种锰酸锂电化学性能更优,首次放电比容量达到120.43 mAh/g,1C下循环50次容量保持率为96.79%。
