A roasting and acid leaching process was adopted to extract lithium from a low-grade clay-type lithium ore with a Li2O grade of 0.13%. After exploration of the effects of various factors on lithium leaching rate, including roasting temperature, roasting time, and mass fraction of sulfuric acid, liquid-solid ratio, leaching temperature and leaching time in acid leaching process, the optimal experimental conditions were determined as follows: roasting at 500 ℃ for 1 h, leaching at 95 ℃ for 60 min with sulfuric acid at a mass fraction of 15%, and liquid-solid ratio of 6 mL/g. Under these conditions, the lithium leaching rate can reach 85.26%, indicating that efficient leaching of lithium from such low-grade clay-type lithium ore can be actualized. XRD and SEM analyses of the samples before and after leaching show that lithium leaching is attributed to the exchange between hydrogen ions in the sulfuric acid solution and lithium ions in the mineral.

针对Li2O品位0.13%的低品位黏土型锂矿,采用焙烧-酸浸法提取锂,考察了焙烧温度、焙烧时间以及酸浸时硫酸质量分数、液固比、浸出温度、浸出时间等因素对锂浸出率的影响,得到优化试验条件为:焙烧温度500 ℃、焙烧时间1 h,酸浸时硫酸质量分数15%、液固比6 mL/g、浸出温度95 ℃、浸出时间60 min,此条件下锂浸出率可达85.26%,实现了低品位黏土型锂矿中锂的高效浸出。通过XRD与SEM对浸出前后样品进行分析,发现硫酸溶液中的氢离子与矿物中的锂离子发生离子交换,实现了锂的浸出。

A roasting and acid leaching process was adopted to extract lithium from a low-grade clay-type lithium ore with a Li2O grade of 0.13%. After exploration of the effects of various factors on lithium leaching rate, including roasting temperature, roasting time, and mass fraction of sulfuric acid, liquid-solid ratio, leaching temperature and leaching time in acid leaching process, the optimal experimental conditions were determined as follows: roasting at 500 ℃ for 1 h, leaching at 95 ℃ for 60 min with sulfuric acid at a mass fraction of 15%, and liquid-solid ratio of 6 mL/g. Under these conditions, the lithium leaching rate can reach 85.26%, indicating that efficient leaching of lithium from such low-grade clay-type lithium ore can be actualized. XRD and SEM analyses of the samples before and after leaching show that lithium leaching is attributed to the exchange between hydrogen ions in the sulfuric acid solution and lithium ions in the mineral.

锂作为全球重要战略金属之一,在电池制造和储能系统等领域广泛应用,是推动行业发展的关键材料[1-3]。自然界中的锂资源主要以3种类型存在,其中卤水型占比58%~66%,伟晶岩型占比26%~29%,黏土型占比7%~10%[4-6],随着锂需求的急剧上升,传统锂资源如卤水型和伟晶岩型的开发利用已难以满足市场需求,而黏土型锂资源因其分布广、储量丰富等特点,被认为是未来锂产品供应的重要来源[7-8]
目前,黏土型锂矿的提取方法主要有焙烧法、浸出法、氯化硫化法和压煮法等。为探索黏土型锂资源的高效分离提取方法,研究者们进行了大量研究[9-16]。本文以黏土型锂矿为原料,采用焙烧-酸浸方法提取锂,研究了焙烧温度、硫酸质量分数等参数对锂浸出率的影响,以期为此类低品位锂资源的开发应用提供技术支撑。
试验所用黏土型锂矿来自湖北某地,其化学成分分析结果如表1所示。矿样中Li2O含量(质量分数,下同)仅0.13%,含量较高的成分为SiO2和Al2O3
利用X射线衍射仪对矿物物相进行表征,结果如图1所示。该矿石主要组成矿物为高岭石、方解石、石英、白云母和锂绿泥石等,表明该矿石属于典型的黏土型锂矿。其中,锂主要存在于锂绿泥石中,难以通过物理方法将其有效提取。
试验试剂为硫酸(优级纯)。试验设备包括SP-100*100颚式破碎机、XZM-100型振动磨样机、DHG型电热恒温鼓风干燥箱、F6000优质工业马弗炉、DF-101S集热氏恒温加热磁力搅拌器、SHZ-D(Ⅲ)循环水式多用真空泵。
锂矿经高温焙烧后,通过硫酸浸出,硫酸中氢离子与锂绿泥石的锂离子发生反应,锂离子转化成可溶性硫酸锂,经过滤分离后,获得含锂溶液[16]
将原矿置于鼓风干燥箱中干燥后破碎,在振动磨样机中磨细至150 μm以下。取充分混匀后的样品装入刚玉瓷舟中,放于马弗炉恒温区加热至一定温度并保温一段时间,焙烧结束后取出样品,自然冷却至室温。向焙烧后样品中加入一定量硫酸溶液,置于恒温磁力搅拌器中预热至浸出温度,在300 r/min下搅拌浸出。浸出结束后分离样品和滤液,并用去离子水洗涤浸出后样品。试验流程如图2所示。
采用原子吸收分光光度计(iCE 3500)测定样品Li2O含量,采用X射线衍射仪(Ultima IV)和扫描电子显微镜(Quanta 250)分别分析样品物相组成和微观形貌。
通过前期大量探索试验,确定以下试验区间:焙烧温度400~1 000 ℃,焙烧时间0~3 h,硫酸质量分数0~25%,液固比2~10 mL/g,浸出温度30~95 ℃,浸出时间0.5~3.0 h。
在焙烧时间2 h、硫酸质量分数15%、液固比6 mL/g、浸出温度80 ℃和浸出时间60 min条件下,研究焙烧温度与锂浸出率的关系,结果如图3所示。焙烧温度对锂浸出率具有明显影响,随着焙烧温度上升,锂浸出率呈现先升高后下降的特征。焙烧温度400 ℃时,锂浸出率仅8.18%;焙烧温度升至500 ℃时,锂浸出率达到77.26%,说明升高焙烧温度有利于活化样品,增大了黏土锂矿的总孔体积,使矿石结构更加疏松,硫酸中的氢离子更易与黏土锂矿中的锂离子发生交换反应;继续升高焙烧温度,锂浸出率逐步下降;焙烧温度1 000 ℃时,锂浸出率下降至3.68%,这是由于温度过高,黏土矿物层状结构严重塌陷,矿层间的锂被固定,不利于矿物中锂的浸出[17]。综合考虑设备要求、能耗等因素,确定焙烧温度为500 ℃。
焙烧温度500 ℃,其他条件不变,焙烧时间与锂浸出率的关系如图4所示。随着焙烧时间增加,锂浸出率呈现先升后微降的趋势。样品未焙烧直接用硫酸浸出时,锂浸出率仅23.34%;焙烧时间1 h时,锂浸出率上升至80.52%;继续延长焙烧时间,锂浸出率略微下降。结合能源消耗等因素,确定焙烧时间为1 h。
焙烧时间1 h,其他条件不变,硫酸质量分数与锂浸出率的关系如图5所示。伴随硫酸质量分数增加,锂浸出率呈现先升高后平缓变化的特征。直接用水浸时,锂浸出率仅9.70%;硫酸质量分数15%时,锂浸出率可达80.52%;此后继续提高硫酸质量分数,锂浸出率变化不明显。在一定范围内提高硫酸质量分数可加剧锂矿的溶蚀程度,有利于硫酸中氢离子与锂离子的交换反应,提高锂的浸出率。考虑成本等因素,确定硫酸质量分数为15%。
为查明黏土型锂矿中锂的浸出机理,对不同硫酸质量分数浸出后的样品进行了XRD分析,结果如图6所示。矿样焙烧后直接水浸时,样品仍以高岭石、方解石、石英和锂绿泥石为主;采用不同质量分数硫酸浸出时,样品中主要物相为高岭石和石英,而方解石和锂绿泥石的衍射峰逐渐消失,因此可推断,硫酸与方解石和锂绿泥石发生了反应。
硫酸质量分数15%,其他条件不变,液固比与锂浸出率的关系如图7所示。随着液固比增加,锂浸出率呈现先升高后平缓变化的趋势。液固比2 mL/g时,锂浸出率为58.56%;液固比升至6 mL/g时,锂浸出率增至80.52%;继续提升液固比,锂浸出率变化不大。这是由于液固比较低时,液体量较少,固体量较多,反应浆料的黏度较大,硫酸无法与黏土锂矿充分接触和反应,影响锂浸出率。综合考虑成本等因素,确定液固比为6 mL/g。
液固比6 mL/g,其他条件不变,浸出温度与锂浸出率的关系如图8所示。随着浸出温度升高,锂浸出率逐渐升高。浸出温度由30 ℃升至95 ℃时,锂浸出率由10.48%升至85.26%,这是由于较高的温度有利于提高反应活性,提升锂的浸出率,但继续升高温度,溶液沸腾,导致溶液不稳定[13]。综合考虑,确定浸出温度为95 ℃。
浸出温度95 ℃,其他条件不变,浸出时间与锂浸出率的关系如图9所示。随着浸出时间延长,锂浸出率呈现先上升后平稳变化的特征。浸出时间由15 min延长至60 min时,锂浸出率由33.51%升至85.26%;再延长浸出时间,锂浸出率变化不大。因此,确定浸出时间为60 min。
通过以上单因素实验,确定优化试验条件为:焙烧温度500 ℃、焙烧时间1 h,酸浸时硫酸质量分数15%、液固比6 mL/g、浸出温度95 ℃、浸出时间60 min,在该条件下锂浸出率达到85.26%。
为研究焙烧-酸浸对样品微观结构的影响,利用扫描电镜观察样品浸出前后的形貌,结果如图10所示。浸出前后样品具有相似的微观形貌特征,主要矿物结构未被破坏,均由致密的片层状结构组成,进一步证明了锂的浸出是氢离子与锂离子发生了离子交换反应所致。
1)黏土型锂矿中Li主要赋存于锂绿泥石中,Al、Si主要以高岭石形式存在。
2)采用焙烧-酸浸方法提取锂,在焙烧温度500 ℃、焙烧时间1 h,酸浸时硫酸质量分数15%、液固比6 mL/g、浸出温度95 ℃、浸出时间60 min条件下,锂浸出率可达85.26%。
3)结合XRD和SEM分析结果可知,焙烧、酸浸后黏土型锂矿的主要矿物结构未被破坏,锂的浸出是硫酸溶液中氢离子与矿物中锂离子发生了离子交换反应所致。
