High-strength and high-conductivity Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe alloy wire was prepared by adopting horizontal continuous casting process followed by continuous extrusion and drawing processes, and effects of such processing technique and heat treatment on microstructure, mechanical properties and conductivity of the prepared alloy were investigated. The results show that the processing technique of horizontal continuous casting plus continuous extrusion can improve the solid solubility in supersaturated alloy and lead to significantly grain refinement, and the following drawing process introduces high-dense dislocation, which changes the precipitation behavior of Mg2Si phase during the ageing treatment of the alloy. It is shown that Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe alloy prepared by the processes of horizontal continuous casting, continuous extrusion and drawing is subjected to 3 hours of aging treatment at 155 ℃, resulting in its tensile strength of 335 MPa, elongation rate of 6.9%, and electrical conductivity of 55.7%IACS.

通过水平连铸-连续挤压-拉拔工艺制备了高强度高电导率Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金线材,研究了加工工艺及热处理对合金微观组织、力学性能和电导率的影响。结果表明,水平连铸-连续挤压工艺提高了合金过饱和固溶度并显著细化了晶粒组织,拉拔过程引入的高密度位错改变了合金时效热处理过程中Mg2Si相的析出行为,Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金经水平连铸-连续挤压-拉拨,在155 ℃下时效3 h,其拉伸强度和延伸率分别为335 MPa和6.9%,电导率55.7%IACS。

High-strength and high-conductivity Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe alloy wire was prepared by adopting horizontal continuous casting process followed by continuous extrusion and drawing processes, and effects of such processing technique and heat treatment on microstructure, mechanical properties and conductivity of the prepared alloy were investigated. The results show that the processing technique of horizontal continuous casting plus continuous extrusion can improve the solid solubility in supersaturated alloy and lead to significantly grain refinement, and the following drawing process introduces high-dense dislocation, which changes the precipitation behavior of Mg2Si phase during the ageing treatment of the alloy. It is shown that Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe alloy prepared by the processes of horizontal continuous casting, continuous extrusion and drawing is subjected to 3 hours of aging treatment at 155 ℃, resulting in its tensile strength of 335 MPa, elongation rate of 6.9%, and electrical conductivity of 55.7%IACS.

Al-Mg-Si合金因其高强度和良好的导电性在架空输电导线领域得到广泛应用[1-3]。作为可热处理强化铝合金,制备加工方法和热处理工艺对Al-Mg-Si合金线材的晶粒尺寸、析出和固溶度等组织特征和力学、电学性能均具有重要影响[4-5]。当前,国内外生产Al-Mg-Si合金导线的工艺主要包括半连续铸造-卧式挤压工艺、连铸连轧工艺和连续铸挤工艺等,再结合拉拔和热处理工艺优化导线性能。其中卧式挤压工艺生产效率低、成本高和质量差;连铸连轧工艺较复杂、工序控制难度大;由于需要控制凝固速率,连续铸挤工艺中铸挤轮的转速较低,生产效率低[6-9]。本文在水平连铸以及连续挤压工艺基础上,提出“水平连铸-连续挤压-拉拔”新工艺制备Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金导线,为高性能铝合金导线工业化生产提供参考。
合金成分为Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe(元素含量为质量分数,%),通过水平连铸工艺制备直径15 mm的圆杆铸坯,铸造温度690~730 ℃;采用LJ300连续挤压机将铸坯圆杆挤压成直径9.5 mm的杆材,挤压轮转速18 r/min,挤压出口温度440~480 ℃,挤压后通过水冷方式将杆材快速冷却至40~60 ℃后进行收卷;随后在室温下对杆材进行拉拔,获得直径3.4 mm的线材;最后合金线材在155 ℃下时效热处理0~12 h。
显微硬度测量在HVS-1000型数显维氏显微硬度计上进行,施加载荷为100 g,加载时间15 s。根据GB/T 228.1—2021标准制备拉伸试样,拉伸速度1 mm/min;采用FEI-Quanta 200环境扫描电镜分析拉伸试样的断口形貌。采用QJ-44型直流双臂电桥进行电导率测试,测试试样标距1 000 mm,实验温度20 ℃。金相试样经过磨平和抛光后,采用混合酸溶液(1 mL HF+5 mL HCl+15 mL HNO3+75 mL H2O)浸蚀,并在Axiovert 40显微镜上进行观察。TEM样品采用30%硝酸+70%甲醇溶液进行双喷电解,温度约-20 ℃,电压12~15 V,电流约120 mA,随后在Tecnai G2 F20 S-TWIN型透射电子显微镜下观察样品形貌。
图1为Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金水平连铸、连续挤压及拉拔状态的金相组织图。图1(a)~(b)显示水平连铸合金由按一定取向生长的较大柱状晶和无特定取向的细小等轴晶组成,柱状枝晶之间可以观察到一定的元素偏析,其分布特征包括网状、条状和颗粒状等,同时可以观察到取向大致相同的细小等轴晶。连续挤压后的合金组织主要由等轴晶组成(见图1(c)~(d)),合金在连续挤压过程中因受到连续的剪切力作用,晶粒被挤碎并随着挤压的进行温度逐渐升高而发生动态再结晶现象,进而使晶粒组织变得更均匀和细小。合金经过拉拔成线材后,如图1(e)~(f)所示,等轴晶粒在径向和周向被压缩,在轴向(拉拔方向)被拉长,从而获得了细长的晶粒组织。
图2为水平连铸、连续挤压、拉拔和时效后Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金XRD图谱。水平连铸合金中没有发现Mg2Si相衍射峰,但存在少量难溶的Al5FeSi和Al9Si相。经过连续挤压变形后,由于挤压过程高温作用,Al5FeSi和Al9Si相逐渐细化和减少,实现了部分在线固溶的作用[2-4]。拉拔变形因在室温下进行,其物相组成与挤压态合金类似,合金XRD图谱峰强度变化主要是拉拔织构所致。经过峰值时效热处理(155 ℃/3 h),合金中固溶原子逐渐脱溶析出形成Mg2Si相,有利于提高合金的强度[2,4-5]
图3为水平连铸、连续挤压和拉拔后Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金TEM组织图。在水平连铸杆坯中(图3(a)~(b)),主要为平直晶界和快速冷却过程形成的少量位错,同时观察到一些粗大难溶第二相,其呈长条状分布在晶界处,EDS结果(表1)显示这些第二相主要为Al5FeSi相,与图2结果基本吻合。连续挤压过程强烈的剪切变形使粗大第二相被剪碎(成分未明显变化,如图3(c)~(d)所示),部分第二相钉扎再结晶晶粒并形成更细小的亚晶,同时第二相有利于阻碍位错,使其周围累积较高密度的位错。拉拔变形后(图3(e)~(f)),室温条件下主要为位错的大量增殖,回复速率慢,导致位错密度大大增加,冷变形的大小决定了位错的累积量。随着变形量逐渐增大,位错密度大量增加,使大量位错高度缠结进而出现胞状位错,当位错胞逐渐增加后难以清晰观察到晶界,同时位错相互作用有利于提高合金的强度。
拉拔后的合金线材具有较高密度的位错,在后续时效热处理过程中Mg、Si等原子容易在位错、亚晶界及晶界处形核,同时位错可以起到“管道”扩散效应,提高合金元素扩散速率,进而改变合金的析出行为[6-7]图4为155 ℃/3 h峰值时效状态合金的TEM组织。由图4可知,余量中存在较高的位错密度,同时大量细小的针状β″(Mg2Si)相逐渐析出,其长度方向尺寸6~20 nm,宽度方向尺寸0.5~1.5 nm。高分辨图片(图4(c))显示,Mg2Si相与铝合金基体呈现共格关系,在拉伸过程中位错运动需切割Mg2Si相,导致阻力增加,进而使强度提升。
155 ℃下,时效热处理时间对Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金拉拔线材显微硬度和电导率的影响见图5(a)。人工时效过程中纳米析出相随着时间增加逐渐生成,这些析出相通过钉扎位错运动提高合金强度,出现时效硬化现象,即随着时效时间延长,硬度逐渐升高,时效时间3 h时达到峰值硬度,随后随着时效时间增加,硬度逐渐下降。在时效初期,Mg和Si原子首先在空位处聚集形成原子团簇,随着溶质原子不断脱溶,逐渐形成亚稳β″相。弥散分布的β″相尺寸小且具有较高的弹性应变能,塑性变形过程会阻碍位错滑移,进而增加合金的强度或硬度[6-8]。长时间时效后β″相逐渐长大或粗化,对位错运动阻力减小,使硬度降低。合金导线的电导率随着时效时间增加先快速升高而后缓慢上升。在铝合金中,原子的自身振动和空位、位错、晶界等缺陷以及外来夹杂原子是引起电导率改变的主要因素,时效过程固溶体中Mg、Si原子逐步脱溶形成Mg2Si析出相,基体中空位和固溶度同步降低,位错减少,使电子运动阻力降低,因此合金的电导率逐渐升高。
不同状态下Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金的拉伸工程应力-应变曲线如图5(b)所示。水平连铸杆坯的抗拉强度和延伸率分别为148 MPa和27.3%,连续挤压杆材抗拉强度和延伸率分别提高至206 MPa和32.2%,挤压杆材经过进一步拉拔后,其抗拉强度(289 MPa)明显提高但伸长率(11.5%)显著降低。拉拔线材经过155 ℃/3 h峰值时效后,得到了较好的综合性能,其抗拉强度和延伸率分别达到335 MPa和6.9%,电导率55.7%IACS。本文合金与已报道相近成分铝合金导线力学性能和电导率对比见表2。对比表2数据发现,本文采用水平连铸-连续挤压-拉拔工艺制备的合金线材具有更优良的综合性能,且省去了挤压前均匀化工序和拉拔前固溶热处理工序,具有流程短、成材率高等优点。
图6为不同状态Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金拉伸试样的SEM断口形貌。水平连铸杆坯拉伸试样断口微观形貌特征为各种尺寸不一的韧窝,尺寸大的韧窝里观察到一些内部裂纹(图6(a));连续挤压后杆材拉伸断口主要包括等轴尺寸的韧窝(图6(b));在拉拔线材和峰值时效的线材拉伸断口中观察到混合的韧窝和(准)解理台阶(图6(c)和(d))。拉伸过程中空洞聚集(包括细小空洞形核、长大、集聚以及断裂)是产生韧窝的重要原因,而析出相的特征会影响韧窝尺寸[13-16]。铸造样品中由于细长的Al5FeSi相在拉伸时引起周围变形及受力大小不一样进而形成尺寸比较大的椭圆形韧窝,此外,晶粒之间因粗大Al5FeSi相的存在容易在拉伸过程优先失效,进而形成内部裂纹[17]。连续挤压杆材组织均匀,第二相颗粒更细小、分布更均匀,其断口中韧窝细小且均匀。拉拔样品中因为残留了很多冷变形产生的位错及位错缠结,在后续拉伸过程中解理裂纹容易形成,并进一步生长成为(准)解理台阶。在时效线材中,位错处Mg2Si析出相在第二相位置阻碍位错运动产生应力集中,进而导致裂纹逐渐在铝基体中萌生,随着变形量增大进一步传播,使其断口特征呈现更显著的(准)解理台阶(图6(d))。
1)采用“水平连铸-连续挤压-拉拔”工艺制备了Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金线材,155 ℃/3 h时效热处理后合金的拉伸强度和延伸率分别为335 MPa和6.9%,电导率55.7%IACS。
2)水平连铸Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金杆坯的组织包括柱状晶以及细小等轴晶;连续挤压可以细化晶粒并使晶粒尺寸更均匀;水平连铸-连续挤压工艺提高过饱和固溶度的同时细化了晶粒组织;拉拔过程引入的高密度位错改变了时效热处理过程中Mg2Si相的析出行为,改善了合金的力学性能和电导率。
3)水平连铸Al-0.65Mg-0.58Si-0.17Fe合金杆坯拉伸断口观察到各种尺寸的韧窝,在尺寸大的韧窝里观察到一些内部裂纹;连续挤压后合金杆材断口形貌主要由细小韧窝组成,且其分布比较均匀;经过拉拔变形后的合金拉伸断口观察到(准)解理台阶;经过峰值时效处理后的合金拉伸断口呈现清晰的(准)解理台阶。
