A heap leaching test was carried out for the low-grade copper-cobalt oxide ores from Congo (DRC), and effects of spray intensity, spray acidity and ore particle size on the leaching rates of copper and cobalt were investigated. The results show that both acidity and intensity of spray bring significant impact to the speed and cumulative rates of copper and cobalt leaching, while the ore particle size has little effect on leaching process. And finally, the optimal conditions for heap leaching of low-grade copper-cobalt ore were determined, including spray acidity at 20 g/L, spray intensity of 15 L/(m2·h), and ore particle size of less than 40 mm. It is shown that the cumulative leaching rates of copper and cobalt can reach 90.89% and 82.27%, respectively, after 100 days of heap leaching.

对刚果(金)某低品位氧化铜钴矿资源进行了堆浸试验研究,考察了喷淋强度、喷淋酸度和矿石粒度对铜钴浸出率的影响。结果表明,喷淋酸度和喷淋强度对铜钴浸出速度和累计浸出率影响显著,而矿石粒度对浸出过程影响不大。确定了低品位氧化铜钴矿适宜的堆浸条件为:喷淋酸度20 g/L,喷淋强度15 L/(m2·h),矿石粒度-40 mm。在此条件下,堆浸100 d,铜和钴累计浸出率分别可达90.89%和82.27%。

A heap leaching test was carried out for the low-grade copper-cobalt oxide ores from Congo (DRC), and effects of spray intensity, spray acidity and ore particle size on the leaching rates of copper and cobalt were investigated. The results show that both acidity and intensity of spray bring significant impact to the speed and cumulative rates of copper and cobalt leaching, while the ore particle size has little effect on leaching process. And finally, the optimal conditions for heap leaching of low-grade copper-cobalt ore were determined, including spray acidity at 20 g/L, spray intensity of 15 L/(m2·h), and ore particle size of less than 40 mm. It is shown that the cumulative leaching rates of copper and cobalt can reach 90.89% and 82.27%, respectively, after 100 days of heap leaching.

在新能源产业带动下,钴、镍、锂等金属成为有色行业投资、开发和研究热点。我国镍、钴等矿产储量低、品质差[1],无法满足新能源行业快速发展的资源需求,国内企业纷纷赴海外并购、开发优质矿产,逐步形成“资源在外、深加工在内”的产业链布局。钴资源开发主要集中在非洲中部的刚果(金)[2-3],该地区位于世界著名铜钴矿成矿带——加丹加弧形成矿带上,钴地质储量450万吨,占世界储量的50%,位居世界第一位[4-5]
随着近十几年矿石不断开采,刚果(金)铜钴矿品位逐渐降低,部分企业产出含铜0.8%、钴0.2%以下的低品位矿石[6-8]。此类矿石采用传统搅拌浸出难以经济有效地回收利用,只能当作废石或堆存处理,造成资源浪费。相较于搅拌浸出,堆浸工艺因流程简单、生产成本低等优势,成为处理此类低品位氧化铜钴矿的有效途径[9-11]
本文以刚果(金)某典型低品位氧化铜钴矿为研究对象,利用有机玻璃柱模拟堆浸过程,考察喷淋强度、喷淋酸度及矿石粒度等因素对铜、钴浸出效果的影响,确定堆浸适宜的工艺条件,为低品位氧化铜钴矿的开发利用提供技术依据。
试验所用原料为刚果(金)某企业提供的低品位铜钴矿,其主要化学成分见表1。矿石中铜、钴质量分数分别为0.75%和0.13%,S质量分数较低,仅为0.01%,属典型低品位氧化铜钴矿。
为进一步明确目标元素铜、钴在矿石中的赋存状态,进行了铜、钴化学物相分析,结果分别见表2表3(含量均为质量分数)。结果表明,96.27%的铜以氧化铜形式存在,91.54%的钴以氧化钴形式存在,仅有少量铜、钴是以其他化合物存在。
将矿石破碎至所需粒度后,取约40 kg装于Φ150 mm×2 000 mm有机玻璃柱中,底部放置碎石,顶部放置棉花;装柱过程中先将浸出柱放倒,将矿石倒入浸出柱中,然后微微抬起浸出柱口,使矿石缓慢溜入浸出柱底,防止矿石压实,影响渗透性,重复此过程直至装入所需矿石。喷淋液采用一定硫酸浓度的自配溶液,用蠕动泵定量滴入喷淋液,每日记录进/出液量,标定蠕动泵流量,取样分析浸出液离子浓度,计算浸出速度、酸耗等。
喷淋酸度是堆浸过程中重要的影响因素,直接关系矿石中铜钴浸出率、耗酸量及浸出速度等指标。在矿石粒度-40 mm、浸出柱装矿高度1 500 mm、装矿量42 kg、喷淋强度10 L/(m2·h)、浸出时间120 d条件下,开展了喷淋酸度条件试验,结果见图1图2
图1图2结果表明,喷淋酸度对铜钴浸出效果影响显著,喷淋酸度越大,铜钴初始浸出速度越快。喷淋酸度20 g/L时,铜和钴最大日浸出率分别可达1.68%和1.61%。随着浸出反应不断进行,在3种喷淋酸度下,铜浸出速度均逐渐趋缓,但钴浸出速度无明显放缓迹象。经过120 d浸出后,10 g/L、15 g/L和20 g/L 3种喷淋酸度条件下,铜浸出率分别为61.83%、70.48%和79.61%,钴浸出率分别为50.32%、67.08%和74.97%。
铜钴浸出效果与喷淋酸度相关性强,这主要是试验所用低品位氧化铜钴矿为高耗酸矿石,矿石中元素Ca+Mg质量分数达到了8.71%,喷淋酸度较低时,喷淋液中的硫酸大部分与矿石中碱性脉石反应,致使铜钴浸出率较低。因此针对此矿石适宜采用较高喷淋酸度,可一定限度地提高铜钴浸出率,缩短堆浸周期。但矿石酸耗也会随喷淋酸度的提高而增加,不同喷淋液酸度的单位矿石耗酸情况如图3所示。喷淋酸度10 g/L、15 g/L和20 g/L时,每吨矿石累计酸耗分别为92.07 kg、129.51 kg和154.05 kg。综合考虑,推荐喷淋酸度20 g/L。
喷淋强度是指单位面积、单位时间内喷淋液的用量,其主要由矿石渗透性和浸出效果等因素决定,是堆浸过程中重要的技术指标。适宜的喷淋强度能够加快矿堆内溶液流动,提高浸出效率,缩短浸出周期。针对该低品位铜钴矿,在喷淋酸度20 g/L、矿石粒度-40 mm、装矿高度1 500 mm条件下,开展了喷淋强度条件试验,结果见图4图5
试验过程中发现,此低品位氧化铜钴矿在矿石粒度-40 mm情况下具有较好的渗透性能,当喷淋强度提高至15 L/(m2·h)时,未出现积液现象。但喷淋强度进一步提高至20 L/(m2·h)时,浸出柱内出现了积液,因此在堆浸过程中,喷淋强度不宜超过15 L/(m2·h)。
图4图5可知,3种喷淋强度条件下,铜钴浸出速度均随堆浸时间延长而变缓。喷淋强度15 L/(m2·h)时,堆浸100 d后铜累计浸出率超过90%,继续延长堆浸时间,铜浸出率变化不大,表明在此条件下,堆浸100 d左右即可实现矿石中铜的最大浸出。喷淋强度可显著影响铜、钴浸出速度和浸出效果,喷淋强度15 L/(m2·h)时,堆浸100 d铜和钴累计浸出率分别为90.89%和82.27%;喷淋强度10 L/(m2·h)时,堆浸120 d铜和钴累计浸出率分别为79.61%和74.97%;喷淋强度6 L/(m2·h)时,铜和钴累计浸出率仅71.65%和73.80%。由此可见,提高喷淋强度可明显加速铜钴浸出,这也表明此矿石中铜、钴矿物容易浸出,只要有足够的硫酸与其接触,即可实现溶出。提高喷淋强度本质上是增加了硫酸的供给。综合考虑矿石渗透性能和浸出效果,推荐喷淋强度15 L/(m2·h)。
矿石粒度对渗透性能、铜钴浸出效果以及堆浸经济性具有较大影响。在喷淋酸度20 g/L、喷淋强度15 L/(m2·h)、装矿高度1 500 mm条件下,开展矿石粒度条件试验,结果见图6图7
将矿石粒度由-40 mm降至-10 mm,柱浸过程中并未出现明显积液现象,表明降低粒度后矿石渗透性仍能满足喷淋强度需要。在试验所用矿石粒度条件下,铜和钴浸出速度和累计浸出率相当,表明-40 mm粒度条件下可实现完全浸润,无需进一步降低矿石粒度。
由此可见,在保证浸出率的前提下,优选粒度大的条件,这样既可以提高渗透性,也可以降低破矿成本。但过大的矿石粒度会导致矿石难以被完全浸润,延长堆浸周期。综合考虑,矿石粒度-40 mm为宜。
综上所述,通过条件试验确定了此低品位氧化铜钴矿堆浸的适宜工艺条件为:喷淋酸度20 g/L,喷淋强度15 L/(m2·h),矿石粒度-40 mm。在此条件下进行了重复验证试验,结果表明,堆浸100 d,铜钴累计浸出率分别可达90.89%和82.27%。针对堆浸渣进行了化学成分分析,结果如表4所示。结果表明,在适宜工艺条件下,铜钴浸出的同时矿石中大部分钙镁和少量铁锰也会随之浸出进入溶液,这也是导致矿石浸出酸耗较高的主要原因。
1)刚果(金)某低品位氧化铜钴矿为高酸耗矿石,喷淋酸度对铜钴浸出效果影响显著,且铜钴浸出速度和累计浸出率随喷淋酸度提高而升高。
2)提高喷淋强度可显著提高铜钴浸出速度、缩短堆浸时间,且铜钴累计浸出率也与喷淋强度正相关。实际生产中,在渗透性允许前提下,可适当提高喷淋强度。
3)在一定矿石粒度变化范围内,矿石粒度对渗透性和铜钴浸出效果影响不大,在矿石粒度-40 mm条件下,即可达到较为理想的铜钴浸出效果。
4)低品位氧化铜钴矿的适宜堆浸条件为:喷淋酸度20 g/L,喷淋强度15 L/(m2·h),矿石粒度-40 mm。在此条件下,堆浸100 d,铜和钴累计浸出率分别可达90.89%和82.27%。
